‘DANIEL’ | Though Daniel could be a fake name to throw off spoilerholics, this 20something gent — a major recurring character for Season 3 — is a handsome, enigmatic and highly intelligent entrepreneur developing groundbreaking technology. (Picture a business magnate in Ryan Gosling’s body.) Though exuding charm and confidence in public, he privately harbors a tragic past that will drive him to become a tech-powered superhero. Watch for this formidable fella to be a love interest for Felicity and a rival of Oliver’s – both personally and professionally.
‘SETH’ | A well-educated criminal with grand ambitions and a knack for chemistry, this potentially recurring character gains power over his enemies by exposing them to a drug that drains their willpower. Oh, and he is very much a physical match for The Arrow.
TOSHI | Majorly recurring in (at least) the Hong Kong flashbacks, Toshi will serve as Oliver’s teacher and handler, and eventually become a friend. A well-trained operative, skilled in weaponry, combat and intelligence gathering, he is also a devoted father and husband.
AKIKO | Toshi’s wife is another of Oliver’s Hong Kong caretakers, and is herself highly skilled in martial arts.

But Daniel's real name possibly be Bruce or something?!
ReplyDelete'Daniel' sounds like either Ted Kord (Blue Beetle) or Dick Grayson (Nightwing).
ReplyDelete'Seth' sounds like a variation on Scarecrow.
Yay! Felicity is getting a love interest! finally Oliver will be on the other end of the longing glances! He sure deserves it after the stunt he pulled on her in the finale.
ReplyDeleteI was already excited for Season 3 but now : GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!
ReplyDeleteOk Daniel sounds a lot like Bruce Wayne (and yes i know that i sounds strange). Seth sounds a lot like The Count (and yes i know we already saw him). As for Toshi in SmallVille Green Arrow was taught by the Dark Archer, but since here we kind of changed stuff, maybe this would be a replacement for his teacher in a way. And as for Toshi i know my cast choice:
ReplyDeleteHiroyuki Sanada
They would never get permission.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing when I read that Felicity would be getting a love interest and also Felicity deserves to be happy, even if it doesn't make Oliver jealous (which I hope it would lol)
ReplyDeleteI doubt they would introduce a character as big as batman because one of two things will happen they either write him well and in that case he will overshadow Oliver or write him badly which will make batman's fans very angry.
These characters sound really interesting, is it October yet?
ReplyDeleteHe's currently on SyFy Helix. Even tho both shows are filmed in Canada you think they can cast him?
ReplyDeleteI sent it in but no one put it up: there are hints of Nightwing for the next season, which makes sense after the big bad of S2.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.zap2it.com/blogs/arrow_season_3_the_vampire_diaries_steven_mcqueen_nightwing-2014-06
it does not have to be Batman..........he not the only DC hero to have tech suit
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they might have got permission for Nightwing.
ReplyDeletewait isn't Blue Beetle a powerful superhero because of the alien thing in his back?
ReplyDeleteI read about the rumor of Nightwinger on another site........it about time it appear in live action.....I would not be surprise if this is also a set up for a second spin off for nightwinger?
ReplyDeleteI would love for Toshi to become Night-Dragon. I know he's a Batman original character but he's as close as Arrow could get to utilizing Batman. Since Night-Dragon is basically the chinese version of our beloved caped crusader.
ReplyDeleteTaking peoples willpower ? Seth sounds a bit like the original premise of Count Vertigo. Could they possibly backtrack their Vertigo arc and introduce a villain to take over Count Vertigos spot?
And Daniel totally sounds like Ted Kord
Teen Titans, maybe?
ReplyDeleteisn't Natas consider Oliver teacher? would he show up? and I believe he team up with Deathstroke
ReplyDeletewouldn't Ted Kord be not avoiding the no power rule? Toshi could also be Natas
ReplyDeletedepending on how they would decide to approach the character, he could totally be a powerless vigilante like Oliver.
ReplyDeleteHe could totally be Natas...but I just like the idea of having a Batman knock off on Arrow better :P
well since most of arrow enemies are no power villain......I presume they will continuing that route so a high tech suit would make sense...and Toshi could be one of Arrow teacher.......Natas could be his second
ReplyDeleteDaniel might be Ted Kord or Red Tornado. I forget, is there a guy inside Red Tornado?
ReplyDeleteWe thought we'd post when this was confirmed.
ReplyDeleteIf we get an all-Hong Kong flashback episode this season, can we get John Woo to direct it?
ReplyDeleteI would rather YJ stay animation for season 3.....YJ left us with a cliffhanger
ReplyDeleteI'm not an Olicity fan, but what he did was wrong in so many levels that I want him to feel.... something, I don't think it will be romantic jealousy, but we've seen Oliver is quite possessive of her, so I think he'll be jealous he's not the center of her universe anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe reason why I hope it's not batman, it's because I so love Christian Bale's interpretation of him, and I love the Nolan movies, so there's no way they can do him justice, it will fall short either way. And in the off chance they actually do him right, hi will overshadow Oliver and that would be so wrong too. LOL.
Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the description for 'Daniel' sounds NOTHING like a Bruce Wayne or Dick Grayson. It'll be Ted Kord.
ReplyDeleteTed Kord never received the scarab, so it would be ingenious into using that version of the Blue Beetle.
ReplyDelete'Seth' sounds like Arrow's version of Scarecrow, or Count Vertigo 2.0. With the original one dead, someone could even enhance Vertigo's effects and create a more powerful drug, which could take away someone's willfulness.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not a comic conocer, so Bruce Wayne was the only one that came to mind, but I'm glad there're several options out there, because I really don't want it to be him, LOL.
ReplyDelete"I'm sure 'Seth' is simply indicating that Seth Gabel will be reprising the role of Count Vertigo !"
ReplyDeleteHow?
So this is quite interesting. No matter what the description says Daniel could be any DC character out there. Thy covered their cw basics handsome, charming, intelligent and a dark secret.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't get people going for Batman! If the description isn't a throw off, the new show called Gotham is one for sure. It would be the worst timing ever. I don't say that cause of Gotham will never be an option for Arrow but surely not at this point.
That's a good point about Gotham and timing. Here hoping you're right ;-)
ReplyDeleteTrue but with Batfleck on the way in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn Superman (which still sounds like a courtroom drama), I doubt it. Especially since WB has done this before like when Smallville wanted to use Bruce Wayne but couldn't because of Batman Begins, or when the writers were told to prevent any hint of romance between Lois and Clark in seasons four and five due to Superman Returns, in addition to the whole setting up Bruce as a character on Gotham and again I don't believe the WB would allow it. Even if it was I'd hate it, mainly because I don't want to see Batman in the Arrowverse and wouldn't want any sort of rivalry between Oliver/ Bruce, particularly if it involved Felicity (love triangles suck). Though Nightwing would be cool, and as many have mentioned I wouldn't mind Robbie Amell in the role.
ReplyDeleteNightwing is no big deal, though. Nobody wants to use Robin on film.
ReplyDeleteI actually don't think this is Dick, either, unless they've really changed his backstory. Nightwing has broken off from Batman and is more into the street crime thing, I don't recall him having much in the way of money or power after breaking away from Bruce.
Since I don't know who the character DANIEL is, for now its a wtf, lets not go to much love drama.
ReplyDeleteWhy not. Helix's second season won't be till late next year anyway
ReplyDeleteI know but still it's the one that i think. As for another cast choice here is one: Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
ReplyDeleteDaniel is probably Ted Kord, it's nice that Felicity is finally getting a love interest. I'm going to preemptively say NO to any hookup with Oliver/Akiko or Oliver/Amanda, let him interact with a woman who isn't related to him, without him sleeping with her or about to.
ReplyDeleteI could have sworn Felicity knew about the idea ahead of time and played along. What stunt did he pull exactly?
ReplyDeleteDaniel sounds like Ted Kord. It cannot be batman. Whoever it is I am simply glad Felicity is going to get a love interest who is not in a coma. This gives me hope that it will delay Olicity from happening. Not that I would hate to see Oliver and Felicity together, I love them both. But I have a bad feeling once Olicity happens the show runners might pull a Gwen Stacy on us and will kill Felicity off for Oliver's man pain and Oliver/Laurel ultimate hook up. I am a Felicity fan foremost and would like to see her on my screen for long. Also its high time she gets a strong story line outside of Team Arrow.
ReplyDeleteSeth sounds like Vertigo 2.0. I hope Seth Gabel returns even though its unlikely. I love him.
So, this does sound promising in a way, but I've seen someone put this out there before, and I'm going to agree, since I'm still mostly worried how badly they're gonna screw up Thea and thus Speedy, with the whole Malcolm thing, because I'm still of the opinion that it's one hell of an overreaction from Thea's side, and I just want her on the team, not against Ollie, we've had that half of Season 1, and that was annoying enough...
ReplyDeleteSo, like a few others have said, what I've read, they should totally stop introducing so many new characters, and first work on not screwing up the ones we have even more...
I got the impression that she realized what was going on and went along with it, not that she knew before hand. Of course I could be wrong. Still, Oliver is very well aware of the way Felicity feels about him and doing that to her knowing how she felt is completely insensitive, and IMO wrong, specially if he cares about her as we're lead to believe. But it's all a matter of perception, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteYes! please stop hooking Oliver up with every single female that's introduced in the show!
ReplyDeleteIf they do bring him in, it should be Dick. He is Nightwing.
ReplyDeleteOmg, i loveeee this! Totally ready to see all of them! Especially Seth, that'll be fun! And Daniel! Felicity deserves some loving, and i want to see who this guy is.
ReplyDeleteHahaha that'd be awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info. But i was referring more to the side where he was taught by him. Not the connection with Malcolm Merlyn, but more of him teacher connection with Oliver.
ReplyDeleteThey could just write it as the scarab is armor tech he invented. Just a guy with juiced up armor to fight crime.
ReplyDeleteDick did inherit a sizable amount of money from his parents and the carnival when he turned 18. Its how they were able to explain his Nightwing story with all the gadgets he has. It wasn't a huge amount compared to BW but it was in the millions.
ReplyDeleteI think the assumption that Daniel is Ted kord could be correct.........I mean if you go back to "Time of Death", there is a logo of Kord Industries.........could this be Ted Kord company?
