For some, not for me. My response is someone who I think has proven she can act, but she is not my favorite actor or actress by a long shot. But she is good.
Yeah, I know I can post unde leave comment. But that didn't answer my question. How can you leave out an actor that repeatedly wins polls about how hot he is. Especially since his female co actor is in the poll? It's not like you don't know the show in question.....Seems like someone is scared that he would win the poll without any competition.
Because it was their poll, not yours and maybe they don't think he's hot or that he can act. I don't watch him so I have no relevant opinion as to what he can do but I'm so tired of people not understanding we all have different taste. Just because YOU think someone is the end all, be all, doesn't mean they are for others.
Lots of pretty actors and actresses are really good at their job. Mads Mikkelsen and Tatiana Maslany comes to mind. Some of them seem more attractive because they do their job so well.
Okay, Jensen Ackles definitely deserves this poll! He is amazing and I have no doubt that he's going to be phenomenal in this Tuesday's season finale!
My second choice was Jared Padalecki. This man needs a lot more credit for his acting. He's played, what, at LEAST four different characters in the same show? Especially with playing the angel Gadreel. The way he switched characters in a second was so amazing.
As the creator listed Kristin Kreuk as an actress in Beauty and the beast, it's not that likely that the male star from the same show is unknown... I'm sorry that the tone turned bad, that was never my intention. :)
Jensen Ackles (I din't think I need to explain that choice;) and other - Lana Parrilla: she's just amazing in portraying so many different emotions, in every scene i can really believe she's the character she's playing. Honorable mention: Matt Bomer
Other: Tom Mison, Bob Morley, Daniel Gillies, Scott Foley, Tatiana Masaly, Lana Parilla and Emily Bett Rickards. I have more, but they're becoming redundant now.

Also, I just looking at your profile to see if you're a fellow Beastie and man, you're filled with hatred (Obama being Muslim and also a "wicked black monkey", pro-segregation in school, you even talk about Benghazi and the lame stream media, which makes me think this has to be a parody account from a Colbert fan, but sadly I'm sure it's not), I feel sorry for you.
Btw, that was a joke, I don't care for BATB. No one in the history of mankind has ever put Jay Ryan and Louis CK in the same sentence, and BATB fans have a history of being Twitter-obsessed even on SpoilerTV, and I felt the poll was shallow at best, so that's why I did that.
Katie Cassidy is listed but not Stephen Amell. Both are in the same show. Jesse Williams is listed but Patrick Dempsey, Ellen, Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh and so many others are not, they all work for the same show. Joshua Bowman and Ashley Madewke are listed but not Emily VanCamp who plays a far more important character in Revenge than either of those two. It's not about known or unknown. Like someone has mentioned, there are limited options so the user has prioritised according to his/her perception of what 'acting' and a 'pretty face' is. I don't see a need to get so upset just because Kristin Kreuk was listed but her costar was not.
USDs can be a lot of fun but this one is literally impossible to answer. There are so many actors who are talented as well as good to look at. But I think in recent times, one person who comes to my mind who I think is exceptional is definitely Tatiana Maslany. That said, there are so many others who are listed here as well as who are not listed so I can't really vote.
I totally agree with Lana Parilla and Scott Foley. They're both beautiful, and are usually among the best actors in their scenes. I almost forgot about them. Thanks for listing them.

i would give this to Jay Ryan --- not because he is the best actor in this list ( i'm only a viwer of some shows , not any ''special judge'' who knows more about acting ) --- besides it's a matter of a taste as well it think /// but i don't want to analyze why he's not in the list ...many great actors are not in the list as well --- but just so i'll give a fair explanation for my choice --- i think he did an amazing job to the ''transformation'' his character went through from season 1 to season 2 // totally different , great work...yet again ...many great actors on the list that are REALLY good
You and a few others, apparently, at the fact that Kristin Kreuk is mentioned here but her co-actor is not. It's pretty evident that you've taken offence. Voted Skarsgård and Cassidy, really great actors! Skarsgård have obviously showed more of his skills lately in all his movies, but I think quite a lot underrates Cassidy in Arrow. In others, I would have liked to see some of the pretty faces in Once upon a time, some really pretty, but still really good actors in that show.
Tom Mison a clear winner. "Sleepy Hollow" was such a hit mainly due to his captivating performances (and what a voice..probably one of the best on TV along with James Spader'. I could listen to these two reading the ingredients list of cereal box and it'll still be more enjoyable than a Justin Beiber song!)

I'm going to make a poll about who is just another pretty face and can't act and list all of the actors on this poll. I wonder how differently it will be
With "Other - Leave Comment", the comment is supposed to simply SAY "Jay Ryan" (or whoever), not complain about the fact that he isn't there. Which of course is irrelevant to the Beasties because their show is better than Breaking Bad and Jay Ryan is better than Bryan Cranston, so not including him in a poll is a heinous crime.
The fact that this actor is on a show that has a crazy obsessed fandom that rabidly attacks every poll on the internet to win it doesn't make him more deserving of being on this list, or any.

If anything, someone was scared of an avalanche of crazed "Beastie" comments about how Jay Ray is THE HOTTEST AND MOST AMAZING AND MOST TALENTED BEAST EVER, #OMG!!!!!!!!! Nina Dobrev. She is really good at playing both Elena and Katherine and sometimes even a third character. Some people just can't see past the Elena hate and it's funny because some fans are so clueless that they think different actresses play the characters and I have seen comments like "The actress who plays Elena sucks but the one who plays Katherine is so good!". S5 was awful but from that list I think she is the most talented.
Leighton Meester has been very good on her projects post Gossip Girl.
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. This is not because I"m a fan because I am. I've watched them act for 9 seasons and they are fantastic. I've never seen better. IF they weren't on the CW they'd have Emmy nominations. Jensen has had them before.
He's very lovely, yes. And agreed-I know crime dramas don't really get a lot of critical recognition, but I do think that even if that type of programming isn't one's favorite, they should recognize the talents of people on such shows more. And he would be one of those people. I like to think someday more people will actually take notice of his talents.
That is one reason I buy all audio books read by James Marsters(Spike), he could read the phone book and I would be in line to buy it. lol He does the Dresden Files and it is like a movie playing in my head. I even bought the Vampire Empire books and loved them..
Again - Beasties talking about their show, not against other shows. Example: I don't watch Breaking Bad, so I won't never attack this show or fandom. You can leave coment too (Bryan Cranston) - to the poll, not to the other comment.

Ian Somerholder, Jensen Ackles, and Dylan O'brien (unexpected omission) These guys have all done work that has, on more than one occasion, blown me away.
How could you leave out Stephen Amell? Not only is he gorgeous as Oliver Queen, but he's been killing it in the acting department in scenes with Susanna Thompson, Manu Bennett and Emily Bett Rickards.
Speaking of which, Emily Bett herself is no slouch.

Quite agree with you, this omission of Jay Ryan on the poll is unacceptable. We have every time Jensen. Doubt they for him? NOT they want to impose it. By doing this, done the opposite of what they want to do. I can no longer see it and obviously as by chance it first.

You look at what TV series? If you do not know Jay Ryan is that you look at other series. It is one of the players of Beauty and The Beast. At the moment, does not happen on television but on 2 June, it passes on CBS and we will have it in France later. For me, watching it in English, I would see it before. First thanks for responding. You made a mistake to compare this series with the fairy tale. History is not a tale is the story of a man who was a genetic manipulation to be as strong as an animal. At first, I wondered if you you couldn't not people like me who love this series. I preferred to ask you the question to be sure. In this case, why ask who it is, if you know? It is annoying for those who love this series and Jay Ryan was already recognized as a good actor and today proves it in other countries.
Actualy I suck at remembering names in general. Especially those of actors on shows that don't catch my interest. And I wasn't comparing the show to the fairy tale.
I was comparing it to the far superior television show by the same name, that aired between 1987 and 1990.
The CW version was very loosely based on the older show. Except for the part where they dropped all the fairytale elements, of the community living underneath the streets, of Vincents quiet solemness, Catherine's intelligence and everything that made the older series great in the first place.
And what little I saw of Jay Ryan doesn't even come close to living up to what Ron Perlman brought to the role.

It is a user submitted poll, which means that the user chose which options were in the poll. Not every single hot, talented actor could be listed so the person chose which ones they wanted. Instead of getting upset and rude, why don't you create your own poll and submit it? I guarantee that whatever options you include there will be someone who complains that you didn't put something they personally think is the best in. It is getting a little disheartening to see people constantly tear down other people based on a silly poll that means nothing.

Thanks for the link and I remember very well this series where the beast was very endearing despite its ugliness. As you see, I followed this series also that I found very well. This version has nothing to do with the way you speak that was an excellent series for me also. Do not make comparisons on 2 series that have nothing to do with the other. One thing to remember, the person who created this poll seems to feel that an exceptionally good-looking actor or actress may tend to be overlooked as talented because of physical attractiveness. ReplyDeleteVoted Skarsgård and Cassidy, really great actors! Skarsgård have obviously showed more of his skills lately in all his movies, but I think quite a lot underrates Cassidy in Arrow. In others, I would have liked to see some of the pretty faces in Once upon a time, some really pretty, but still really good actors in that show.

ReplyDeleteTom Mison a clear winner. "Sleepy Hollow" was such a hit mainly due to his captivating performances (and what a voice..probably one of the best on TV along with James Spader'. I could listen to these two reading the ingredients list of cereal box and it'll still be more enjoyable than a Justin Beiber song!)

Which of course is irrelevant to the Beasties because their show is better than Breaking Bad and Jay Ryan is better than Bryan Cranston, so not including him in a poll is a heinous crime.

ReplyDeleteNina Dobrev. She is really good at playing both Elena and Katherine and sometimes even a third character. Some people just can't see past the Elena hate and it's funny because some fans are so clueless that they think different actresses play the characters and I have seen comments like "The actress who plays Elena sucks but the one who plays Katherine is so good!".

And agreed-I know crime dramas don't really get a lot of critical recognition, but I do think that even if that type of programming isn't one's favorite, they should recognize the talents of people on such shows more. And he would be one of those people. I like to think someday more people will actually take notice of his talents.

At the moment, does not happen on television but on 2 June, it passes on CBS and we will have it in France later. For me, watching it in English, I would see it before. Jay Ryan is known in his country, also in America and is a player confirmed unlike others.

I was comparing it to the far superior television show by the same name, that aired between 1987 and 1990.

The CW version was very loosely based on the older show. Except for the part where they dropped all the fairytale elements, of the community living underneath the streets, of Vincents quiet solemness, Catherine's intelligence and everything that made the older series great in the first place.
And what little I saw of Jay Ryan doesn't even come close to living up to what Ron Perlman brought to the role.
A Spolier TV, given that this poll is skewed for 3 main actors for the Diaries, Ian, Paul and Nina and 2 main actors for Supernatural. Why do you not have Jay Ryan with Kristin Kreuk, it was more logical or then you put other players. Just for this reason I am voting more for this poll, this site is not reliable in my opinion, and not for me. #BATB for Alex who has hatred from people like me without reason.

Not every single hot, talented actor could be listed so the person chose which ones they wanted. Instead of getting upset and rude, why don't you create your own poll and submit it? I guarantee that whatever options you include there will be someone who complains that you didn't put something they personally think is the best in. It is getting a little disheartening to see people constantly tear down other people based on a silly poll that means nothing.

This version has nothing to do with the way you speak that was an excellent series for me also. Do not make comparisons on 2 series that have nothing to do with the other. Your able to submit one yourself. Above the poll is a blue box with "Click to Submit your Poll suggestion". Then fill in the details. It'll randomly be chosen from the other submitted polls. You could submit a poll completely about BATB if you so choose. Or you could even resubmit this very same poll with different answers.

ReplyDeleteOne thing to remember, the person who created this poll seems to feel that an exceptionally good-looking actor or actress may tend to be overlooked as talented because of physical attractiveness. They wanted to see how people view the beautiful people in a sampling of TV series. They couldn't possibly list every attractive star in every series because most people in series are good-looking or they wouldn't be in a series. So just take it for what it is, a sample group. As some have said, if you want to feature your favorites and see how they rate, create a poll about them and see how they fare.
