to tell you all the truth, i haven't seen any television series that's more than 10 seasons. the longest running show i've seen is one tree hill (nine seasons) closely followed by psych and monk (eight seasons each)...
ReplyDeleteSmallville and The Simpsons. Supernatural will last at least 10, so other for that as well.
ReplyDeleteOther : FRIENDS!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Smallville close second!
When I read the question the first time I saw "what TV show do you wish had lasted 10 or more seasons."
ReplyDeleteFriends, which is surprisingly not even an option.
ReplyDeleteOne Tree Hill and 7th Heaven were good too.
I haven't seen any television series that's more than 10 seasons (i stopped watched smallville during the season 8 and i'm not particulary a fan of The Simpsons and the others) but i will vote for season for SUPERNATURAL soon.
ReplyDeleteNCIS, Simpsons, and Friends.
ReplyDeleteFriends
ReplyDeleteFRIENDS
ReplyDeleteOne Tree Hill had 9 seasons, I think.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure if it had 9 or 10 seasons.
ReplyDeleteFriends, Smallville and The Simpsons :)
ReplyDeleteOut of the ones listed that I watched (ER, Simpsons, SG1) I don't think they should have lasted more than 10 seasons as the quality dramatically dropped!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm going to vote for other: Doctor Who
NCIS, Smallville and soon to be Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteSmallville, Grey's Anatomy and 7th Heaven.
ReplyDeleteFriends
ReplyDeleteSupernatural..!!
ReplyDeleteThe Simpsns and CSI: Miami!
ReplyDeleteSmallville and soon-to-be Supernatural.
ReplyDeletesmallville stargate and ncis in that order.
ReplyDeletePast - Stargate SG1 and ER
ReplyDeletePresently: NCIS and Grey's Anatomy!
The only shows from this list that i enjoyed watching are Smallville and Stargate... I would also include Friends.
ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H*
ReplyDeleteSmallville, hands down. It's already a classic. And oh, where are Friends? :D
ReplyDeleteOther=Grey's Anatomy
ReplyDeleteGrey's Anatomy <3
ReplyDeleteFriends. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, Grey's Anatomy.
Friends and Stargate.
ReplyDeleteCSI
ReplyDeleteNYPD Blue they don't make cops shows like this show I say Chicago PD is a close second
ER
Smallville love all season but my favorite seasons was eight through ten because finally got Clark and Lois couldn't stand Clark and Lana
Law & Order: SUV
Simpsons
Other
Friends
Grey's Anatomy
Friends and JAG for me
ReplyDeleteSG1is the only 10 season show I ever finished watching. Droped NCIS and Supernatural. Never watched the others. Grey's will be my next show to reach 10 seasons.
ReplyDeleteER and NCIS.
ReplyDeleteI loved Emergency Room so much, I grew up watching it and I loved it till the end.
Friends, Stargate SG1, ER, Smallville.
ReplyDeleteI've only watched one show that have more than 10 seasons, and it's Grey's. Someday I want to binge-watch Smallville, ER, Stargate and, of course, Friends.
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest, in that case.
ReplyDeleteFrasier, Friends, MASH.
ReplyDeleteLoved Friends, ER, JAG, NCIS and Smallville. Watched them to the end/still watching them and recently rewatched friends, busy rewatching JAG and bought ER to rewatch when I'm finished with JAG. All amazing series!
ReplyDeleteNo Friends??? Really???????
ReplyDeleteSmallville!!
ReplyDeleteThat is why they have 'Other - Leave Comment' option.
ReplyDeleteLaw and Order SVU
ReplyDeleteBoth Law & Order series.
ReplyDeleteYea, even though I like the Law & Order shows I never watched them regularly. I think I have given up on any show before it reached the 10th season. Only One Tree Hill did I watch weekly for all 9 seasons.
ReplyDeleteWhy focus on recent shows only. There is Doctor Who (decades of seasons), Gunsmoke, Little House on the Prairie, Waltons, etc.
ReplyDeleteThey forgot X-files. I think it went 10 seasons also. My other choice Smallville!
ReplyDeleteFriends
ReplyDeleteCheers
Supernatural will be the first show I've watched all the way through that's made it to the Season 10 mark. Prior to that the longest shows I had seen in their entirety were Scrubs and HIMYM (9 seasons each).
ReplyDeleteFriends all the way!!!
ReplyDeleteA show like this deserves more than being an "other" option.
ReplyDeleteWrite-in vote for Knot's Landing.
ReplyDeleteSeriously tho IMO I think out of most of those shows either E.R. or SVU should be at the top. Does anyone know how long St. Elsewhere was on?
ReplyDeleteER & SVU for me. Loved CSI but it should've ended when Grissom left, they had 8½ awesome seasons at least.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Smallville and 'Other' for Friends.
ReplyDeleteHere is a couple reasons why we use 'Other - Leave Comment'. There is a limited number of slots for the shows one can put into the polls. Another reason, the person making the poll either forgot to include it,or they didn't watch the show.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing you can be certain of is no poll is ever perfect since they are submitted by the fans. What you may think of being deserving others obviously don't..
St. Elsewhere ran from 1982 to 1988.
ReplyDeletetysvm
ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H. How is that not on the list?
ReplyDeleteOther: Friends.
ReplyDeleteFrom the list: NCIS, Smallville & Simpsons
ReplyDeleteOthers: Doctor Who, Friends, Grey's Anatomy & Supernatural
This is my poll and I can't believe that I forgot to put on Jag and Greys Anatomy. I was thinking more of dramas than comedies which is why Friends is not on here.
ReplyDeleteI am a bit confused and wonder if someone from the site can help me. I did this poll because of Supernatural hitting 10 seasons and I know that I had it down as one of the options. I did not put The Simpsons down as one of the options and I am wondering why Supernatural is not on there but The Simpsons is, when I DID put Supernatural on there and DID NOT put The Simpsons on there.
It turns out that I've never watched series which lasted 10 seasons, so none.
ReplyDeleteSmallville and ER.
ReplyDeleteI have to go with Stargate cause it really feel the last 2 seasons were a good change of pace both plot wise and aesthetically, and everything before, although it got meandering a lot of the time, was solid.
ReplyDeleteIn comparison I watched all of the 10 seasons of Smallville, and that just kept getting worse.
And I don't even want to talk about Supernatural.
Bonus mention for Grey's; it is still a very serviceable show.
Friends
ReplyDeleteER, by lots of countrymiles!:)
ReplyDeleteFor me it will always be Stargate SG1 ! I owe a LOT to that show !! It's the reason I speak english now ! I was so obsessed when I was 11-12 y/o that I started downloading episodes in english (because France was a year or more behind ! ) I didn't speak a word back then...now I'm 24 and fluent in english ;) you should hear my accent people think I'm american ** bragging moment ** (oh hell why not ! ):D
ReplyDeleteSmallville and Stargate SG1.
ReplyDeleteIt only had 9 seasons
ReplyDeletehow i loved One Tree Hill
ReplyDelete9 seasons!
ReplyDeleteI've never watched a 10 season show - at least not through it all (watched NCIS and CSI for a few seasons). Supernatural will be the first this fall.
ReplyDelete"Frasier". One of my all-time favorite TV shows.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that neither Dallas (first series) nor Knots Landing made the list. And then there's three very popular comedies omitted as well: Cheers, Friends and Frasier.
ReplyDeleteMy prediction: Supernatural will last 40 seasons and get a spin off series afterwards called, "Supernatural: The Geriatric Years"!
ReplyDeleteDoctor Who!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFriends and Bones
ReplyDeleteSg1 is starting to get old (I guess that's making me old too...damn, I grew up with that show) and Little House had 9 seasons and considering how old Gunsmoke is, I'm not surprise the person who sumitted the pool didn't pick it, probably never heard of it and probably nobody (or like one comment top) suggested it either
ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H, Stargate, NCIS and Friends
ReplyDeleteFriends and probably The Simpsons (at least its first 15 years)
ReplyDeleteI think the only show I have ever watched every week from start to finish for 10 straight seasons was Stargate SG1 (Atlantis too but that was only 5 seasons). All the other shows on the list I either came in at season 2-3 (NCIS, ER) or called it quits before I got to season 10 (CSI). I have heard good things about Smallville from the people on here...if I have time, I may give that a try.
ReplyDeleteOther - M*A*S*H
ReplyDeleteOut of these, Smallville! Soon: Supernatural! :D
ReplyDeleteSupernatural.
ReplyDeleteThe Only one I watch up to season 10 is Smallville and Stargate SG1. Up coming is supernatural.
ReplyDeleteAnd
NCIS is still in my Plan to Watch list since 2009 should I even?
smallville and grey's anatomy.Special mention-next year supernatural. It is not my favourite anymore but still would like to follow through till the end!
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that JAG got cancelled after the first season, but got rescued by CBS and ended up creating one of the best series and subsequently NCIS, NCIS:LA and now NCIS: New Orleans
ReplyDeleteSmallville had some great guest stars, Jensen Ackles, James Marsters, Ian Somerhalder, Alaina Huffman, Chris Reeve and so so many more it will be fun for you to watch and pick out your favorites.
ReplyDeleteDr Who, NCIS, Smallville. It got so much better post Lana. Soon Supernatural... Although it seems like two shows to me. Seasons 1-7 were incredible... Seasons 8-9 have nearly lost me several times. I hated season 8 until Everybody hates Hitler... Season 9 was just a sleepy season.... Not enough of the Winchesters and waaaaay too much angel slaughter. It is still pretty good TV, it just isn't "Supernatural Gold" any more. IMO of course.
ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H!
ReplyDeleteFRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!! And NCIS!
ReplyDeleteDoctor Who
ReplyDeleteSmallville and Stargate SG1! Supernatural to follow. There are indeed not so many achievers in the category, especially sci-fi or fantasy series. Watching CW 2014 upfronts of Supernatural presentation and a wonderful trailer of all those seasons up to 9th season finale I was so nostalgic and glad the show survived and keeps my interest high! There are some issues of course but still the show is as good as new.
ReplyDeleteOh, god! ))) That would be so hilariouse! Sam and Dean with the stick to kill a demon. )))
ReplyDeleteWhat I liked about Smallville is characters development: from teens to grown-ups with respective problems and life ups/downs for each period of their lives. It started as a teen stuff and matured to an adult which was really great in respect of main heroes' looks, state of a mind, personal achievements, love and etc.
ReplyDeleteStargate SG-1
ReplyDeleteSupernatural starts filming 10 in July.
ReplyDeleteTNT runs 2 eps at 5am on weekdays. They're at the end of the 10 and final season. They'll start over from season one during the week of June 9th. Since its not on Netflix, this will be your best chance at trying out the show from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteJAG is my favorite, and without it there would be on NCIS or spinoff series.
ReplyDeleteJAG is my favorite show, and I've always believed the reason it was cancelled on NBC is because it didn't appeal to that network's audience. It was too conservative and pro-military. JAG was a much better fit on CBS. It is also undoubtedly the smartest decision that CBS has made in recent years considering JAG's 9 season run on CBS plus the success of the two NCIS spin-off series.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Didn't know that it wasn't available on Netflix to stream!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info - character development is something I highly value in a show...without it, it can get stale fast.
ReplyDeleteHuh, had no idea that Jensen guested in it - that alone is enough for me to check it out!
ReplyDeleteJensen was in several ep, about 6 I think.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome:)

ReplyDeleteSmallville
Supernatural
NCIS and Stargate SG1. I watch repeats of these shows every week, they have great action and are easy to follow. In general though, most series that have lasted roughly 8 or more seasons start to become repetitive and boring.
ReplyDeleteThat has happened to Doctor Who too! Quality has been dropping and the comedy has gone over the top...
ReplyDeleteI find that Doctor Who quality comes and goes though over the course of the 50 years its been on, it usually goes back up again. I personally loved the 50th special and hope the new season will be strong.
ReplyDeleteFrasier!!!
ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H, Doctor who
ReplyDeleteYep, he was but unfortunately his character story sucked in my opinion BUT on the other hand he didn't stay for long in Smallville universe but was introduced to Supernatural and now we are so lucky to have such an amazing character and cool hero in fiction like Dean Winchester.

ReplyDeletesupernatural + smallville
