This week’s episode was full of action. The war is on. Last week I said I thought Francesca was too confidant for a human. I was right, turns out she and her family are werewolves. Guerra werewolves no less. Now I’m not sure if they are different kinds of werewolves or not but I hope we delve into that a little more before the Originals kill them all. Genevieve double crosses Klaus, linking him to the werewolves and thus weakening him. This prevents him from saving Josh, who he bit earlier in the episode. Davina is tempted to bring back Mikael, who promises to help her. At the end of the episode, the witches kidnap Hayley and try to take her baby.
Smartest character: Cami actually figured the whole Guerra werewolf thing out before anyone else did. Unfortunately people don’t seem to answer their phones during a war, something I think they’ll reconsider now. I wish the other characters on the show would appreciate her more, they seem to think she can’t handle any of it because she’s human. While in fact, she’s probably the smartest person on this show.
“Oh no, you did not just do that” moment: You all probably know how protective I am about Josh (and how mad I get when he’s not in the episode). Klaus crossed the line here. Poor Josh is always in the crosshairs. Davina better find a way to save him, because we all know how much the writers love to kill off characters.
Worst move: I believe I’ve said this before: I don’t get Marcel. He know full well that going up against the Original siblings won’t end will for his people. Had it not been for the werewolf intervention, they would have all been dead, including Marcel.
Most hateful character: Ah Francesca, I already disliked her before this episode. Those feeling doubled this week. Not only did I totally not see the werewolf reveal coming, she attacked my favorites. And turns out she’s also responsible for the bayou bombing. Because one reason to hate her just wasn’t enough, right?
Best musical moment: As a youtube vidder, I’ve had my eye on the “We Want War” song since the beginning of the season. I jumped up with both excitement and disappointment when I heard it on the show. Excitement because the song really is perfect, disappointment because now everyone will be using it in their videos.
Favorite scene: I loved the parallel between Hayley’s screams and Klaus’. Like he knew exactly what was happening. But seriously, where is that werewolf strength when you need it. If someone was trying to take my baby, I’d kick and punch a lot more. On a side-note. This would be the perfect moment for Rebekah to walk in and save the day, just saying.
Prediction for the finale: So since there’s only one episode left this season, I thought I’d make some predictions. I think Genevieve will switch sides. In the last scene, I could see how she did not want to go through with it. I think she’s going to save the baby, but end up getting killed anyway. Monique and Oliver will die, no doubt about it. I think Francesca might make it through the finale, mainly because I think we haven’t heard enough about the Guerra werewolves. The baby will live, she better. And in true “Vampire Diaries” fashion, there will be a cliffhanger.
Favorite quotes:
Elijah: “Gentlemen, shall we?”
Hayley: “You will not take my baby. I will kill all of you.”
I noticed my review wasn’t as big as usual, probably because I’m writing this in a hurry. I want to do a big one for the finale so the next one may not be up until mid-next week. My exams are coming up so I’ll write when I can. Are you guys ready for the finale? I sure am.

I agree with everypoint you made, and I kid you not, my first thought when the episode ended was 'This would be the perfect moment for Rebekah to walk in and save the day'.
ReplyDeleteI hope Genevieve doesn't switch sides. There's way too much of that on this show - people shifting alliances every episode. I'd like to see more characters pick and side and stick with it. Genevieve decided she wants to live and if that means she has to sacrifice the baby so be it.
ReplyDeleteShe had better switch, if it means saving the baby.
