The Odd Couple - Georgia King and Sarah Baker Exit

May 13, 2014

Georgia King (The New Normal) and Sarah Baker (Go On) have exited the Matthew Perry comedy for creative reasons, TVLine has learned.

King was set to play Katie, a model who lives in Oscar and Felix’s building, while Baker was cast as Oscar’s assistant Sam — a part written specifically for the actress by her ex-Go On co-star Perry.

Both roles will be recast.

  1. It's not a good sign for a show when an actress leaves over creative differences when the part she was playing was created specifically for her.

  3. And so it begin!

Seems kinda pointless to cast someone else in a role that was written for a specific actress.

  4. This is going down on my predictions as a cancellation already.

  5. Yeah. Matthew Perry's post-Friends TV resume would agree with you.

  6. Ironic that the first line after the advert of the Friends episode I'm watching is Chandler saying "I can't believe I did this, I'm an idiot." Friends predicted Perry's reaction to doing this show in 2000.

  9. They said Odd Couple would have to be retooled in some ways after (and if) picked up, so hopefully it will work for the best. Sad to see Georgia go, though. Loved her in TNN and some british films.

  10. Ouch! Not a good sign, but I'm still gonna keep my fingers crossed!

  11. I'll add an "unfortunately" to that because they've all actually been pretty good shows.
