I will. I tuned in too late because I was thrown by the premise but when I actually watched the show, I enjoyed the humor. It was clever if you enjoy meta humor and pop-culture references.
I remember in it's first year, before premiering, almost everyone thought it was gonna get cancelled fast, and it ended up with two full seasons. I didn't watch, but I feel bad for the fans of the show.
That's a fair point. Who would've thought that quirky alien comedy that everyone predicted would be cancelled immediately would last 44 episodes? It was a solid run for a comedy that nobody expected to make it.
Perhaps, but I'm not so sure. I think ABC is probably weighing this out now. Suburgatory hasn't done THAT bad this year. They might want it again for midseason comedy spackle. LMS hasn't been renewed yet either to my knowledge so they could still have a few more renewals.
I think Nashville will come down to how many dramas they want to premiere in the fall. Cancelling Nashville is another hour to fill and they already have at least 3 hours to fill, possibly 4 if they don't stick with Tuesday comedy. That's relatively full as it is. And they don't have THAT many dramas ordered when you consider a few of these could be timeshared situations. Nashville may still have a shot.
You would figure that ABC would promote Season 2 given that it was getting a lot of buzz especially in the second half of season 1. If they cared about the show so much, then why did they show lack of love? That's not what they treat their fans.
TVBTN is not the "source". Deadline posted this a few hours ago, and then a few other sites started posting it. TVBTN posted after seeing those sites, like we did.
ok:) but couldnt tv shows be renewed/cancelled at the day of the upfronts, because its written everywhere that before that day or atleast on that day that we will know the fate of the tv shows :)
It was an enjoyable little-show-that-could. I enjoyed the musical numbers, and found it quite charming, I think it was time. It had a great run for a show that nearly everyone (myself included) expected to be cancelled almost immediately.
Yes, I will miss the show. I know I'm in the minority of fans, but it was one of the few comedies I was currently watching, and actually thought was funny. I was always entertained by, and loved, the family-friendly, almost old-school type of comedy, that the show displayed.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteIt's confirmed that The Neighbors has been cancelled.

ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that Nashville and Suburgatory will be cancelled, as much as it pains me to say it.

ReplyDeleteSometimes, I watched that show and it was actually decent. ABC did not promote it well in Season 2.
ReplyDeletedamn i watch it but hoping for SFN more

They didn't promote it at all. I watch a lot of shows on ABC and I didn't watch almost any commercials for the show.

ReplyDeleteSorry, Babar.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you apologizing, lol?
ReplyDeleteI did not know that Deadline posted this. Sometimes, I'm absent-minded.
ReplyDeleteIt's not exactly a surprise to me, but I'm gonna miss it. It was one of the most weirdly funny shows.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad, The Neighbors was a great tv show, fun in his own way like no other out there.
ReplyDeletei think he meant that you didnt have to apologize
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to apologize, and especially to me, for this.
ReplyDeletein your opinion do you think we get the remaning renewal/cancellation today? :))
ReplyDeleteYep. Today is the last week day before the upfronts begin on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteok:) but couldnt tv shows be renewed/cancelled at the day of the upfronts, because its written everywhere that before that day or atleast on that day that we will know the fate of the tv shows :)
ReplyDeleteThe day of the up fronts they introduce the new shows and release the fall schedule, so generally all decisions are made before then.
ReplyDeleteok :) saw your edit on the last message now ;)
