  3. Is that large list of guest cast normal for an episode of this series or is that as strange and irregularly long as I think it is? :P

    ReplyDelete
  4. It is an abnormally long list.

    ReplyDelete
  5. People have known about this for a while now. There won't be any avalanche until the episode actually airs.

  6. Finally. i really hope the show is not cancelled. this might be the best season so far.

  7. Either Jane lets Lisbon go or he tells Lisbon how he feels and she tells him it's to little to late. Lisbon seems happy with Pike, if she wasn't then she wouldn't have chosen to move with him in the first place.

  8. So exciting! I can't wait to see this episode.

  9. Am the only one who likes them as just close friends? They have such a unique relationship and I loved that about them since the beginning. I'm all for them being friends working together again - as that magic has been sorely missed this season.

  10. I agree. It will be interesting to see what Jane says to Lisbon to try to get her to stay, if anything. By dating Pike she's saying she wants a normal relationship, can Jane giver her that? She left a normal life once for Jane, will she do it again?

    ReplyDelete
  11. That is a rather large guest cast and something obviously takes place in an airport and on a plane (air marshall, stewardess, airline clerk, TSA).

  12. Since Jane ended his freedom to work with the FBI only if Lisbon worked with him I doubt that he will let her go. He has to figure out that it's OK for him to love again. I love this show.

  13. Jane most likely is going to realize that Lisbon is realy happy with Pike and tell her to go with him. I can't think of a way that Jane can say or do anything that doesn't seem like he could be just saying it so she will change her mind. I mean it's already been shown that Jane knows how to make Lisbon think that he's going to say what she wants to hear. I mean everyone says that Jane has to tell Lisbon his feelings and realize that he has feelings for her and yet Lisbon has to do the same thing as well.

When did Lisbon leave a normal life?

Personally though I don't think there is such a thing as a normal relationship.

I think this whole Pike thing is stupid, I mean if this was just for Jane to admit that he has feelings for Lisbon then could have eaily have had Lisbon have had her own promotion to DC or had her thinking about leaving Law Enforcment in general. I mean bring Pike does nothing execpt try to attract viewers. I mean to be quite frank, is Lisbon doesn't end up with Jane then I see no real reason why they brought her into 2.0. I mean all they claim to accomplish with Lisbon seeing herself for herself and finding other people who love her could have been done during the two year time jump.

  14. Problem is that Jane said he wanted to work directly with Lisbon. For most of the their time at the FBI Jane hasn't worked directly with Lisbon, they only time he has was after Pike arrived.

If Lisbon is really happy with Pike, which she seems to be, then Jane will let her go. Remember last season Jane told Lisbon that she deserves to be Happy, it's clear to me that Lisbon is happy with Pike. If she wasn't happy then she wouldn't say yes to moving with him.

  15. I'm about to a whole lotta "down votes" but I've never really felt any chemistry between Jane and Lisbon, other than friendship/brother-sister...

  16. I get what u mean me neither ... and besides since RedJohn is over I'm board with the show and I really don't like that at all

  17. Yes you are the only one ;-)

  18. I love this show. It deals with human nature, peoples' strengths and weaknesses. Just because someone is the smartest person in the room does not automatically mean he is smart when it comes to his own feelings. Lisbon's body language doesn't support the words coming out of her mouth. Simon Baker's and Robin Tunney's portrayal of their struggle to say or not to say what is on their mind, was so touching and raw. I loved it.

There are so many interesting ways this show can take the characters - I am definitely rooting for a season 7. The supporting characters of Cho, Abbott and Wylie are developing so nicely - I definitely want to see more of them. Not so sure about Fischer .....

I wonder if Jane's freedom is at risk because he disturbed a hornets' nest when taking on the case of human trafficking. The head of this outfit may be connected to the Blake Association and could be an excellent adversary for a season 7 story arc.

  19. Another thought, Jane obviously took Lisbon's words on the plane to heart, he is doing everything he can not to appear like her boss, make decisions for her, influence her in any way that could be construed as controlling by her.

The only way left for him, I believe, is to overcome his own guilt (causing his family's death), to be honest about his feelings for her and let her make up her own mind. He needs to be truthful and allow himself to be vulnerable. Not an easy thing to do. He seems to be genuinely afraid to read Lisbon ...

  20. Well clearly you still like it somewhat if you're commenting on it's posts

  21. I don't think Lisbon is happy with Pike. She seemed to be almost begging Jane to tell her to stay in the last episode.

    ReplyDelete
  22. She didn't come across that way to me. Though I seem to come from a diffrent way of thought then most people seem to, to me if she wants Jane to tell her to stay and she has feelings for him then she should come stright out and say that she does. (This reminds me of this one time back when I was in high school and my 10th grade history teacher had asked the class if a woman had feelings for a guy should she make the first move or should it only be the guy who makes the first move. The class seemed evenly matched that either could make the first move if they have feelings.)

I think that even if they were to go their separate ways
after the entire „Oh, wow! I have feelings for you” realization that seems to
be going around – it would make a fine ending for the season/series... That
being said, I’m not entirely opposed to a happy ending.

  24. Personally I never saw the brother/sister relationship that others have claimed to see. That's because there have been things said and done, one right off the bat being Jane claiming that Lisbon had thought that he was planing on suducing her when he made that table reservation in the second episode of season one, that I know that neither me and my sisters would do; and me and my sisters are close. (or at least closer then my parents have seemed to be with their siblings.)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Problem being that Jane has lied so many times to Lisbon that even if/when he tells the truth she won't know wether to belive him or not. (That much has been shown when Jane said she looked good in the dress on her second date with Pike.)

    ReplyDelete
  26. When they first announced that Pike was comming I had thought that there had to be something bad about him. like maybe he was apart of the Blake Association or something. But now I just think that he's a good man who, if he doesn't end up with Lisbon, just seems to fall in love quickly and doesn't seem to let a relationship actually happen. Which could explain why he's divorced.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, the Pike thing seems very contrived and last minute. Lisbon will end up with Jane. Its just a silly way of getting to it. Personally, I don't care if the get together or not, but if they do it should be an intelligent and compelling in a Mentalist way not this contrived storyline. Pike is a device to drive J/L apart and have a dramatic cliffhanger. The thing is with not knowing what's happening with the show, it has serve as the season and or series finale which is not fair to fans.
Also, Lisbon gave up her normal life for she left Washington for Jane boring as it was. When I say "normal" I mean a man that takes her to dinner, movies etc., like we've seen Pike doing. They're trying to make him Mr. Normal to Jane's crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That's what I said early on, if Jane and Lisbon are to get together it should be done in a unique way, just like how the show always seemed to be unique, not in a way that hundreds of shows have done. That's why I've always said that the way they are doing things has been done more towards attracting and keeping viewers probably to get CBS to renew. I've also said that one reason CBS maynot renew the show, besides ending the Red John story arc, is that they seem to be planning on answering if Jane and Lisbon will get together and CBS probably realizes that no matter which way things go with the latter there will be a loss of fans. (I mean Jisbon fans probably aren't going to continue watching if Jane and Lisbon don't get together, I mean there have been a few that said they stoped watching because they hadn't gotten together yet.)

Mr. Heller already said that the finale will be satisfying and something else that I can't quite recall at the moment, so I'm pretty sure that it's not going to end with any type of cliffhanger.

Lisbon had always had a normal life though, she just chose to allow Jane to act the way he did. How her life had played out was nothing but her doing by making the choices she did.

  29. Don't do it Jane, Don't!

  30. It's "Blue Bird" not "Blue Birds".

    ReplyDelete
  31. I remember hallucination-Charlotte aka Jane's subconscious talking about Lisbon as girlfriend material in Devil's Cherry. I can only think of one man whose mind sees his sister like that and his name is Jaime.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You're right in the sense that it shouldn't be down to one person alone to step up and reveal their feelings, especially if the people around them (or in this case, I guess, the viewers) sense that's there's some dilly-dalling going on. I guess the trouble is that the few times Lisbon has ventured into being unguarded around Jane, in the sense that she questions her feelings and by extension his for her, it doesn't end well.

Case in point: in the fourth season finale she questions Jane on the whole 'love you' message and as soon as he plays it off/changes the subject she goes along with him almost like a whole 'well, if he's not going to open up about it/ignore it then I guess I should just leave it alone.' And this season, before Jane runs off to confront Red John suspects and almost gets himself blown up in the process, there's this big scene by the waterside where he starts telling her how much she means to him etc. In response she gets very emotional - she obviously thinks he's leading up to something big (and I can't blame her, given Jane's careful word choice, it's all very reminiscent of other romantic scenes we've all seen time and time again) and of course, we all know how that ends. He takes off, under another pretense, abandoning her and perhaps, though it's never really explored in any detail, she's wondering whether he meant anything of what he said, or at least, perhaps she's wondering if she received the wrong signals, interpreting something by means of wishful thinking?

So yeah, I guess I can understand why she's so hesitant and hanging around waiting for Jane to say something if that's what's going on here. She probably doesn't want a repeat of the last times this happened; she wants to be the one taking off this time, not the one left behind.

Though let's face it; they're both pretty flawed, highly defensive and have all sorts of trust issues, the irony being that trust each other with all sorts of things including their lives. But feelings? No way man, that's a step too far. Unfortunately it;s also perfectly in character, given their history.

  33. Thank you for making me snigger. That was well-worded, and by extension, well-played. I'd take my hat off to you if I wore one.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah, I've used that as refrence as well for why I don't see Jane and Lisbon having a brother/sister relationship. Though I normally use the scene scene from the second episode of the first season the most since to me that's when they blew the whole possible Brother/Sister relationship.

  35. I'm suprised anyone knows the title of the epsiode since for a while articles had been saying that the title was Blue Bird Inn.

  36. Is this going to be a race for you love senaro? You know maybe where jane chases lisbon to stop her from getting on the plane at the end. That why they got all those air marshals , TSA agents and stweartess. (just kidding i doubt that will happen.) If did i would be stoked but i doubt that it will play out like that. My only pray is we do not get a casablanca ending! That would be so freaking depressing. I worry after watching that movie reference in last nights episode

(which would explain all the airport staff) LOL i am just kidding i doubt it will play out like that. I just hope they do get togerther and we dont get some casablanca shit. Last Nights casablaca reference was a little unsettling to me.

  39. Come on Jane how abut you listen to the song "Can't Fight This Feeling" by Reo Speedwagon and do what it says. I believe it fits you and Lisbon perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  40. No you are not alone. On one hand, I see the jealousy between them when one dates someone else and it seems like they have some romantic feelings for each other but on the other hand I just can't see them in a romantic relationship.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I tried to picture them kissing and it just didn't work. Lisbon is Jane's best friend; he could always count on her being there for him when he needed her. I think the move is making him realize how much he depends on her and just that. Nothing romantic.
I guess we'll find out what happens on Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yes! I think they would miss each other to much. The have a very plutonic relationship.

  43. I don't want this show I liked so much to finish in a mushy lovestory or in a stream of marshmallow as we say here...
