Looks awesome. I definitely do hope Flash and Arrow work together from time to time and that they do some crossover stuff to remind us that this is a shared universe.
I agree about Gustin, his performance on Arrow was lackluster and the over-the-top line deliver in this promo made me want to throw out my TV. I'll check it out anyway
This could be a lot of fun, but super speed is not nearly as interesting as other hero abilities. I'm not sold it will work as well as Arrow just yet. Here's hoping.
Seasons 3, 4 and 5 were progressively getting worse and Grants performances (acting and singing) stood out. However it's Glee so the bar wasn't exactly that high to begin with.
I did not mind him, but I found him annoying times too. He does not have the level of skill or charm to remind me of Barrowman. At least not at this point in his career.
AHHH!! I LOVED SEEING THIS DURING ARROW TONIGHT!! This was so cool! And he is so freaking cute!! I love Barry Allen! Omg, this is going to be so much fun! I can't wait!
Apparently the role (or their interpretation of it I should say) was written with Grant in mind. Then he surprised them by auditioning for it. The other 2 people up for the role were James Mackay and Matt Barr.
I could seriously watch this all night. I lovee when Ollie smiles in his costume. And he's goofing around with him. And Barry's so happy! This will be great!
All 3 (including Grant) have been on other CW shows. So you might know them from other roles.
Grant was on 90210 for an 8 episode guest role (as Campbell). James was on The Tomorrow People for 2 episodes (as Julian). Matt Barr was on the main cast of Hellcats (as Dan).
Eh. Of the 3 either Grant or James I think had the better acting. Neither were at Gillies or Morgans level though. Matt I felt was more looks then acting but apparently he does better in movies then TV.
Felt like the Assassin's Creed: Revelations trailer with a slow-paced song. Not bad at all. And I love how the trailer really focuses on the duality between Arrow and Flash and not just introducing The Flash. Really gets my hope up for plenty of crossovers.
Could The CW create it's own separate Serialized Universe among DC? I mean, they could use less prominent characters such as Nightwing and Shazam instead of Batman and Superman... I would love a retooled Amazon.
A DC Series for each day of the week and a 3 to 6 episode Crossover series for mid-season... One can dream, am i right?
I just said in a comment below. In Arrow every Tom, Dick and Harry can catch Olivers Arrow and even deflect it with a sword. Atleast Barry has some powers.
I really like the promo but I'm not much excited by the show itself. I will definitively check it though. Hoping that Grant Gustin's acting will surprise me and that there will be early crossover episodes.
I don't think he is that good looking (he is not my type) and I hate Glee but imo the actor fits the role and he has charisma. Also it seems The Flash isn't going to be as dramatic and dark as Arrow. The teaser is getting a very positive response everywhere. I can't wait.
Catching arrows mid air is a pet peeve for me in Arrow. It annoys me whenever I see that. That being said I am really impressed with all the three Flash teasers and its my most awaited series after Arrow for the fall. But as Alex said below this is the only time it makes any sense when some one catches one of Oliver's Arrow. It should take super powered individual like Barry to do that. Not normal human beings like those in Arrow.
They're not normal. Again Roy and Slade were super-human, Malcolm and Al-Owal were trained in combat be the League of Assassins, making their reflexes extremely heightened. Huntress was also extremely well-trained and trained to do the feat, and Billy Wintergreen was again trained to do such things. You may not like it but it makes sense within the comic book world of Arrow, since all of these people aren't normal have improved and higher reflexes they have, and yes it is possible to catch an arrow in real life, so even if Arrow is more grounded it doesn't make it impossible, just very difficult which the show itself has proven with characters reactions to other's catching Arrow.
Holy shit! I can't believe how psyched I am for this! The only thing I have a problem with is it being the Arrow universe and the presence of multiple metahumans. That being said, it's the Arrow writers so they will be able to explain it, probably all down to the same event that gave Barry his speed.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
LOL! Showoff!
ReplyDeleteNiiiice waiting for the Flash :)
ReplyDeleteI already love their relationship!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait, looks really good!
ReplyDeleteoh wow the flash catch an arrow in mid air!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
ReplyDeleteWhy couldn't they just be in the same show?!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT was just simply amazing. Barry looks so freakin' cool when he is moving in super speed. Seriously can't wait for this show.
ReplyDeleteThat smirk when he draws back the three arrows!!
ReplyDeleteThen neither could get the attention they deserve.
ReplyDeletePlease have a crossover early on.
ReplyDeleteWell you've got me there.
ReplyDeleteLove the running effect.
ReplyDeleteI like the speed effect they used. Also I like how much of a contrast they are. Barry really enjoys being a hero :)
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome. I definitely do hope Flash and Arrow work together from time to time and that they do some crossover stuff to remind us that this is a shared universe.
ReplyDeleteAmaaazing. I'm happy for Grant.
ReplyDeleteYesss, it'll be nice to see Barry in a lighter place when it comes to be a hero.
ReplyDeletenot a fan,
ReplyDeleteI expected actual material :/
I was kind of on the fence about this, but the teaser turned me off. The actor seems very annoying. Pass.
ReplyDeleteI think they're saving the actual material for the upfronts. This is just to build initial hype.
ReplyDeletecould explain it, what we just saw generally looked like a car commercial
ReplyDeleteyou came to the conclusion in that small clip?
ReplyDeletelol! Great promo, bring those crossover episodes
ReplyDeleteI agree about Gustin, his performance on Arrow was lackluster and the over-the-top line deliver in this promo made me want to throw out my TV. I'll check it out anyway

I don't understand why everyone likes him so much. I might check out the pilot out of curiosity but I don't see myself watching regularly.
ReplyDeletehe's young and good looking. Many people don't need more.
ReplyDeleteHis hammy line delivery reminds me a lot of Barrowman actually but I can enjoy Barrowman while Gustin just flat out annoyed me
Mainly it's because of Glee.
ReplyDeleteSeasons 3, 4 and 5 were progressively getting worse and Grants performances (acting and singing) stood out. However it's Glee so the bar wasn't exactly that high to begin with.
He was in Glee? Well that explains so much. In that case, I'm definitely out.
ReplyDeleteHa! so true! XD
ReplyDeleteI did not mind him, but I found him annoying times too. He does not have the level of skill or charm to remind me of Barrowman. At least not at this point in his career.
Yeah he was a recurring 'villain' to the shows gay couple.

AHHH!! I LOVED SEEING THIS DURING ARROW TONIGHT!! This was so cool! And he is so freaking cute!! I love Barry Allen! Omg, this is going to be so much fun! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteHow on Earth does a Glee guy end up playing a superhero? No wonder he seems so annoying.
ReplyDeleteERMAHGERD!!!! SO EXCITED!!!! LOVE GRANT GUSTIN AS THE FLASH!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah that would be awesome! Smallville did things like that in the past so there's no reason why Arrow and Flash wouldn't cross over
ReplyDeleteA very funny car comercial. I'm very fine with it
ReplyDeleteApparently the role (or their interpretation of it I should say) was written with Grant in mind. Then he surprised them by auditioning for it. The other 2 people up for the role were James Mackay and Matt Barr.
ReplyDeleteI loved this promo!!! Can't wait to see The Flash!!
ReplyDeleteOh! Matt Barr... he was actually in my dream cast list when they announced this... I'm quite happy with Grant in the role though.
ReplyDeleteNot bad... I hope they get paired up for the night.
ReplyDeletenever heard of either :/
ReplyDeleteI'm still crossing my fingers for John Wesley Shipp having some major role on The Flash, that'd make my year
I could seriously watch this all night. I lovee when Ollie smiles in his costume. And he's goofing around with him. And Barry's so happy! This will be great!

never gave 90210 a shot after its first episode, same with TTP and I never started Hellcats.
ReplyDeleteSadly I didn't see either :(
Was any of them good ? (as in 'Gillies and Morgan' good)
Ohhhh. I'm in!
ReplyDeleteThat looked like a movie teaser though.
ReplyDeleteEh. Of the 3 either Grant or James I think had the better acting. Neither were at Gillies or Morgans level though. Matt I felt was more looks then acting but apparently he does better in movies then TV.

ReplyDeleteI don't like this costume version, it doesn't look right.
ReplyDeleteOkay. Barry is freaking cute and adorable. Great promo. I hope they do lots of crossovers. It will be so much fun to see them working together.

I like it. My only complaint is that it seems a bit loose but that is easily fixed by him bulking up some(which he may have after this was filmed).
ReplyDeleteI love the promo
ReplyDeleteAwesome promo.
ReplyDeleteWell, JW Shipp is in the Flash pilot and from what I heard, it's at least a recurring gig, even if they're keeping us in the dark about his character.
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for this show! I can't even explain how much I'm excited.
ReplyDeleteI've had a crush on Barry Allen when I was a kid.
Did you ever watch Harper's Island?
ReplyDeleteThe first time someone has caught Oliver's arrow and it actually made sense.
ReplyDeleteThats not that amazing. Hell, in Arrow every Tom, Dick and Harry can catch arrow mid air. LOL. Flash can do that while running super fast too.
ReplyDeleteOMG Flash is coming! Flash is coming! FLASH IS COMING!
ReplyDeleteI just said in a comment below. In Arrow every Tom, Dick and Harry can catch Olivers Arrow and even deflect it with a sword. Atleast Barry has some powers.

ReplyDeleteI Like that dream.
ReplyDeleteLike the speed run look, and I hope they keep that soundtrack for it, or have one each time.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha well well look at you. 2 days of information and you're buzzing. Lol someone has Flash Fever. = p
ReplyDeleteThe song is Birth by 30 Seconds to Mars. ; )
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that thought that was a really horrible promo!? I was 50/50 on the show already but that really put me off :P
ReplyDeleteI agree. Also there are plenty of The Flash characters and villains that I really want to see in his show.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he is that good looking (he is not my type) and I hate Glee but imo the actor fits the role and he has charisma. Also it seems The Flash isn't going to be as dramatic and dark as Arrow.
ReplyDeleteThe teaser is getting a very positive response everywhere. I can't wait.
Excited for this...... its looks awesome...
ReplyDeleteMatt was also in One tree Hill as psycho Derek for a few episodes
ReplyDeleteehehe nice teaser!

Very cute interactions there! Should be great!
