The
episode begins with Howard and Raj pulling a treadmill upstairs because the
doctor said that Howard’s mom needs it to exercise but yells that she does not
want it. Later, the guys accidentally hurt his mother’s foot by letting it fall
down. Poor Howard’s mother after all she’s been through.
Howard
is relieved that his mom is settled in the guest room. He is not happy that he
has to deal with taking care of his mother for 6 to 8 weeks but Bernadette tells
him that she would do the same thing for her mother if she was in a bad
situation like what his mom went through. She doesn’t sound happy that he would
rather hire someone take care of his own mother, who took care of him growing
up. He defends himself that he will pay them well to take care of her. She
calls him a “putz” after she has to take care of his mother when she has to go to the bathroom.
Later
on, Bernadette lectures Howard that taking care of his mother is like take care
of a baby. She is right that he can’t always rely on her taking care of the
children.
After
Howard gets frustrated with Bernadette for taking so long to get the groceries, she finally tells
him off and tells him that he got a Mocha because she had stayed up for 2 days
straight for his mother. It’s not Bernadette’s fault that he couldn’t hire a
caretaker to take care of his mother. He needs to get out of his comfort zone
to take on responsibilities. Plus, hiring a caretaker costs a lot of money.
Raj
and Sheldon are at the moves together seeing The Amazing Spider Man 2. Raj
introduces Emily to Sheldon but it’s an awkward moment as she is with another
guy.
Back
at Sheldon’s apartment, he is shown cheering Raj up after he saw Emily with
another guy. The best part of this scene was where Sheldon mentions that Amy
could never ever be with another guy due to the “Ironclad Relationship
Agreement” that her and him had. He tells Raj to stick with his guns. It was
awesome that Sheldon was not being selfish for once that he did something else
for one of his friends by making tea for him and giving him some useful advice
about relationships.
At
Raj’s apartment, Emily comes over to apologize about what happened. She admits
that she only wanted to go out with the guy who did her tattoo so she could get
over it. At first, he freaks out but says it’s his own issue. Emily would not
feel the same way if she saw him with another women. After the misunderstanding
ended, she tells him that she’s not seeing anyone else and he says the same
thing too. They finally get to have conversations about her tattoos. They get
romantic on his sofa! The chemistry between them are excellent.
Meanwhile,
Penny is having a dispute with the film director. When Leonard distracting him
on the set, he asks him to leave. She wants him to stay but this causes her to
get fired. Wil Wheaton isn’t happy and he gets fired after defending her.
Later
at the bar, she, Wil and Leonard are having drinks. Then, Wil gets a phone
call that he got an audition for a role in Sharknado 2. I loved that Wil
Wheaton was willing to sacrifice his role after she was unfairly fired by the
director. The bar scene was hilarious where how her and his job situation fell
fast.
Back
at Penny’s apartment, Leonard asks Penny to marry her with a ring he had in his
wallet for years. Penny accepts the proposal and they are now engaged. After
years of dating, it’s about time that got engaged. The best part of the episode
was the way he proposed was so sweet and I enjoyed the parts where he used “Pop
Tarts” and “bran muffins” to make smart decisions in life.
Ending:
The
episode ends with Howard giving coffee to Bernadette. She believes they will
get through his mother’s situation. A maid gets Howard’s mother her pancakes and they are relieved they get to relax for a while.
Please tell me all your thoughts of this wonderful episode. There is only one episode left this season! :(
