“Sam and Cas are going to have to team up because Dean has powers that are heretofore unknown, so they’re surprising both Sam and Cas,” previews star Jared Padalecki. “We have to go to a pretty big extreme to take care of what’s going on with Dean.”
Meanwhile, as Cas faces the loss of his angelic powers, he “may go to great lengths” to save his own skin, says co-star Misha Collins; at least it seems like he’ll have some time before his juice runs out completely. “I’m interested to see what the writers do with Cas’ fading grace in Season 10.”
Although the Winchesters have been at odds for much of the year, Padalecki assures TVLine that the season ender is full of “a lot of what makes Sam and Dean Sam and Dean and a lot of that brotherly love that the show is based on. You see a lot of it in the finale, in a weird way. So hopefully, next season, we bounce off of that” to show a stronger bond between the two, he says.

I still think the fandom theory of one of the brothers kills the other and/or demon!Dean is going to be true. I saw a theory today that Sam could try to cure Demon!Dean and complete the third trial and then die that way. Would be painful, but I'd love it.
ReplyDeleteThere were somethings that should of stayed unique to Sam . A dark sl is one thing giving Dean Sam's sl's is something else.
ReplyDeleteoH LORD PLEASE DON'T HAVE CAS MAKE SOME STUPID DECISION. PLEASE. HE'S BARELY GOTTEN OUT OF THE WHOLE "HE NEEDS TO PAY FOR WHAT HE DID TO SAM/PAY FOR S8 PROBLEMS" WITH THE FANDOM. NO. NO. PLEASE DON'T HAVE HIM MAKE A DECISION THAT EFFECTS THE BOYS ALL CUZ OF SELFISH REASONS. PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteSounds like it will be awesome. I'm glad we'll get to see some brotherly love. I'm nervous about such a 'huge' clifthanger. I wonder if Metatron will be killed or something or if it'll move into next season. I wonder if for Cas, it'll mean he'll turn human again? I liked human Cas a lot but angel Cas is useful for his powers. So glad we got a season 10!!! This show is awesome and will always be (and always has been).
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of Sam curing DemonDean and closing the Gates of Hell as a result. I think that ending would be really fitting. Sam (again) taking control over things that have controlled him his entire life, and he'll save Dean's life in the process. John gave his life for Dean, Dean for Sam, so Sam has to close that circle. He's tried to in the past but never been successful and I think he'll always be considered a failure as a brother unless he does that.
ReplyDeleteHowever......, for that to happen it would need to happen in literally the last episode of the series. It's not something you could just throw in mid-season. So if SPN gets a season 11, then it probably won't happen at all. Add to that, Dean wouldn't be able to go DemonDean until late in the season, because I don't see Sam and Dean hunting together if Dean is the seasons big bad and you really can't knock MOTW episodes out.
I'm very skeptical about the 'a lot of what makes Sam and Dean Sam and Dean' based on the experiences of the same thing last season, when Dean was persuading Sam to live by telling how much he was willing to sacrifice, and had sacrificed, for him. I hated that speech, not just because it was shown to be rubbish in the next episode, but it didn't place any worth on Sam as a character, just worth in terms of what he was for Dean. Hopefully they'll do it better this season.
The best finale ending in the last five years? I don't know about anyone else, but the Fall of angels and Castiel becoming Godstiel were incredible cliffhangers.
ReplyDeleteThis is what bothers me is that they are going to try and throw in the brotherly bond and sounds like a desperation theme to try and get through to Dean who is on a mission to kill metatron. From the previews I think that Dean will not survive either the blade or how his fight with metatron goes. A picture shows him bloody after he hits the wall and no blood on blade so dean is resisting turning so what final act will make him turn? Since sam almost died beginning of season 9 its deans turn to die or will he??
ReplyDeleteJensen said it will be "eye opening" in the final seconds, so I do think Dean is going to die and then open his eyes as a demon. I think that will be the price he has to pay for taking the MoC in order to stop Abaddon from bringing a demon army on earth, and now trying to stop Metatron.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of the possibility of Sam curing a demon Dean would result in the Gates of Hell being closed along with Sam dying. I thought the third trial was something the writers moved past, but maybe not. I have a huge problem with Sam dying. I think that was Kripke's intent with his five year story arc. Sam would allow himself to be possessed by the devil and jump into the pit to save the world from Lucifer. I hated that scenario because it felt like Supernatural became Dean's story. It felt like the show would've shifted from telling the story of two brothers caught up in the supernatural world ... to how one brother survived being a hunter to find his happy ending with a woman and her son. That happiness came at a price because he lost his younger brother in the process of fighting evil. I would feel the same way now if the writers killed off Sam.
ReplyDeleteDont mind Dean being bad for a couple of episodes but no more of season ten. Supernatural is Sam and Dean together not against eachother!
ReplyDeleteYes. So bored and tired of that. I hope they aren't going down that road again.
ReplyDeleteIf demon became a knight of Hell and ruled Hell as the king like Crowley has done then that could be an interesting twist though I don't see it happening. I'd want it to last all season though. Maybe Sam/Castiel (good guys) vs Dean/Crowley (team bad). It could be a fun plot. Would be ok with this so long as it was written well enough.
ReplyDeleteI just have a hard time picturing the writing team to allow demon Dean to go around murdering people and ruling Hell which is everything the show stood against.
Still an interesting concept... Hmm...
Yet another article. The actors are selling the finale episode hard...

Oh we'll get some brotherly love alright... in the sheets!!! ha ha jk! Sam will take on the Mark of Cain which will prove to Dean that Sammy really does care about him so mch that he was willing to offer his own life to save Dean. Maybe Sam will become a Knight of Hell and take over Hell. Crowley will partner up with Dean and Castiel to try and stop him reign of terror... yeah I'm going to bed now. Maybe!
ReplyDeleteEnough with the seasonal deaths. Been done to death already (pun intended).
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, Both actors already stated this week that they plan on doing more seasons. If Sam died it would not be permanent.
ReplyDeleteI would be down for this but wouldn't that also send Crowley on a one way ticket back to Hell? Meaning no more Mark Shepard. I doubt that they would do that. Otherwise this idea sounds pretty good.
ReplyDelete-He makes a decision-
ReplyDeleteCastiel becomes... .:THE PIZZA MAN:.
Wonder what would happen to Deans demon warding tattoo if he became a demon!
ReplyDeleteWhat tattoo? lol the writers would probably just forget he ever had one.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled to Sam becoming his brother keeper. In my mind they're always like that for each other: Dean for his brother life, Sam for his brother soul.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Cain will make an appearance (I hope he does). Didn't Dean agree to kill him?
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the series I'd like to see Sam dead, and at peace, finally. I want to see him die for Dean, not because I think that Sam hasn't ever sacrificed for Dean (because he certainly has) but because I think this is the only kind of sacrifice for him that I think will appease Dean, and many fans. Dean will join in when he's ready but while Sam and Dean are together then, considering what we've seen so far, neither one of them can be free. Dean is caught up in the obligation aspect of the relationship and Sam is caught up in the desperate need to prove himself to his brother (and always be found lacking) aspect of the relationship. This, for me, and the current inequality in their relationship, diminishes them as characters and has left me with the desire to see them work separately more and more.
ReplyDeleteThere's only so much you can do before the only unexplored option that remains is making one of the brothers the Baddie of the Year. And I'm not talking 'against each other', I'm talking 'race to find a way to bring your loved one back'. Think Xander and Willow and the yellow crayon, only on a slightly bigger scale.
ReplyDeleteNo they still remember it. When crowley possessed sam this season castiel had to burn his off and then put it back after.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do wonder about Crowley. He's obviously got some master plan that Dean/we don't know about - since it's Crowley after all. I don't think he's "worthy" to take on the Mark, but he may have plans to trick Dean in some way?
ReplyDeleteI think that maybe the bonding moment will be Sam breaking through to Dean for a few seconds and Dean asking Sam to kill him (or something like that) because Dean knows that he can't be saved, the Mark has too much of hold on him. So then Sam kills him dead... but, then in the last second, Dean opens his eyes, and they're black. Because remember, even if we haven't seen it this season, Sam can "cure" demons, so maybe that will be the main storyline for next season (or the first few eps of next season)?
I guess we'll see tonight!
