Either Dean sneaks the First Blade with him and that causes another rift between the brothers, or Dean will need the First Blade against someone, not have it, and something terrible will end up happening.
Oh, and the whole "save it for the big boss fights" sounded pretty meta to me. Immediately made me think of how the Colt was only used for Lucifer and then just disappears when they could have looked for it against Eve, against Alpha monsters and even Godstiel.
It makes sense that it would work on angels. Otherwise what good is a weapon meant to be wielded by a hand picked demon of Lucifer, if it only kills demons?
One of the better sneak peeks in a while. We're really seeing Dean's slide here - he can barely speak to Sam and when he does it's punchy and sharpish. Sam is trying his best but it's too late, or close to too late.
Bonus points for that crotch shot of Sam near the start.
of course he is going to take it anyway, if not this time, it will be in the final. Like it did with the colt in devil's trap. not sure it will turn so well in the end
"Now, put on your dancing shoes, and let's go boogie." lol I loved that part!
I guess this also confirms one of my questions: Dean still isn't sleeping. I've been terrified how the finale is going to end for him for awhile already.
As well for Sam. In "King of the Damned" I loved the scene the brothers confessed to each other what they were thinking in the Impala. It might not have cleared the issues with them, but we finally got to hear some of what Sam is thinking, with Gadreel possessing him as well as what he feels the Blade Is doing to Dean. He's showing a growing amount if concern for Dean. I'm also wondering how the finale is going to go for Sam.
But one thing that I absolutely need: SAM needs to be the one to bring his big brother back if Dean goes over the edge.
Either one of the writers is a Once Upon A Time Fan or Sam Winchester is cause that was almost the OUAT "Magic always comes with a price" catchphrase quote word-for-word.
Just learned that this episode is written by the same writer who did the Bloodlines backdoor pilot episode, Andrew Dabb. All this guy worked on before Supernatural were 4 really crappy Saturday morning cartoons. His career: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Dabb
Dean KNEW Sam didn't want Dean using the blade, so WHY ON EARTH would he try packing it in their gear with Sam staring right at it?! Gawd...
Also, this is so reminiscent of Season 1 when Sam told Dean not to bring the colt and he brought it anyway. Carver needs to find some new material instead of rehashing what's been done in seasons 1-4
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

"Because he's a weird guy....a weird, dorky, little guy"
ReplyDeleteeither the writers REALLY don't like Cas or there was a "but we love him for it" missing >:(
Why would he need to First Blade to deal with angels? I thought it was just for demons for some reason.
ReplyDeletedang it dean throw that blade to the bottom of the pacific please
ReplyDeleteI was half-expecting him to start calling the Blade "My Precious."

ReplyDeleteI wanted him to say: "The blade is mine" :)
