SpoilerTV New Homepage Design - Survey - Your Input Required Please

May 1, 2014

Hey All,

As you may have seen Yesterday we updated the design on the sites Homepage on both Desktop and Mobile.

We'd like to collate the feedback in a more structured manner, so we've created a simple survey for you to fill out. This will help us shape the design of the site in the future and allow us to make some design tweaks where necessary based on your input.

Please submit the form only once, multiple submissions will not be counted.

  8. I answered the poll but I just wanted to add a comment. I really love the design of the icons but I feel like they are a bit too big. Maybe it is something that I have to get used to but right now for me they are huge and take my attention away from what is actually written.

  10. I agree with others saying that the images are too big. They take away from what is actually written there. For me, I didn't really care for the images before, but I got used to them. I know I'm in the minority here of not really liking them. I'd love a way to opt out of the images or go back to the previous ones. I love the feature with the banner that you can replace it, even though I hadn't used it until this year, I like that it's there.

Overall I'm never a fan of change, but I adjusted quickly enough and I like it. My only real criticism to echo is the icons are a little too big.

  15. Since you asked for my opinion with the survey (which I provided) I thought I'd offer a more complete representation of my opinion. I really like the new design but until I really thought about the icons I couldn't put my finger on what I wasn't fond of...

The images aren't really large enough to identify the characters, particularly on mobile devices...although I have old-eyes so I need larger images and all of the youngsters on this site might disagree.

For the "general" icons, they're too distracting as they are, maybe too vivid and could possibly be toned down slightly.

It's also sightly distracting to have both images and icons, mostly because I don't see any real consistency when an image or icon is displayed.

I really do like the changes and appreciate all of your efforts, you guys are fantastic!

  17. I do like the images as they are but the problem is that, for example, in some reviews people put photographs that can be a spoiler ans, if you have already entered the review article that's alright, but if you're just browsing through the articles there's no need to be spoiled without having chosen to.

  18. We will make sure there are no spoilers in the thumbnails.
