The Headless Horseman will be back. British actor Neil Jackson, who guest starred in Episode 7 of the first season of the drama Sleepy Hollow, is set to heavily recur on the Fox series in Season 2. He will reprise his role as Abraham Von Brunt aka the Headless Horseman.

  1. Heavily recur? Unless there are a ton of flashbacks that include him in season 2, I think Headless may end up getting his head back... and his face.

  2. 3...2...1....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
putting the hat back on kinda defeats the purpose.

It's like sewing Varys weiner back on, like giving Elijah back his balls, like giving Klaus back his brain, like returning Saras point to her character...know what I'm sayin' ?

    but in all honsety: meh

  3. I'm not a fan of the idea either. Revealing a horseman of the apocalypse to be a normal guy last season took away all of the character's mystique and giving him back his head will just make things worse.

  4. This sounds potentially lame. Not sure what's going on but a lot of my favorite shows haven't been that good lately. Supernatural isn't even watchable. Grimm's finale was one of the worse Grimm episodes yet... ugh!

  5. I thought I was the only one, I liked the first season a lot but this was definitely one of its worst flaws. De-mystifying the headless horseman.
Having a mythos that is a mystery to the characters in your show is what gets people intrigued. Unraveling EVERYTHING on your show takes away the excitement big time.

I'm only okay with John Noble being War because he's fucking John Noble but I need some creepy mystery looming over our characters.

What 'creppy, unseen' force is left on this show ? Moloch pretty much revealed himself already

(Kind of my gripe with The Originals/Supernatural/True Blood/Vampire Diaries as well, the 'unseen forces' have all been revealed and been partially redeemed. Where's the threat ? Why not use big bad Mikael as a force looming over the siblings, waiting to strike while his simple existance is striking fear into their hearts ? But no, we get puppet Mikael, gorgeous witch leader Markos and whatnot....I think I'll have to write a TV show now :( )

  6. Ah shit! I forgot, my Katrina has been taken away! not again. Still gotta wait all summer for her!

Oh and yea I was a little meh/really/whyed out when they made the Headless Houseman a former human who turned in a supernatural force. But the show was still awesome so my dismantlement mostly went away.

  7. Ummm... OK, is the Horseman going to look human again or are we getting flashbacks?

  9. In general, there seems to be too much demystifying on Sleepy Hollow and it's a bit worrisome. Deputy Andy Brooks could have been scary as hell but instead they gave him an unrequited crush on Abby. One horseman is a former friend of Ichabod and ex-fiance of Katrina. The other horseman is their son. This show seems to be developing an OUAT-style fixation on giving all the bad guys personal ties to Sleepy Hollow's protagonists and that's a big mistake, in my opinion.

  10. Didn't even think of the family ties, gee you're right with the OUAT similarities. Honestly...as much as I liked season 1 I don't see this show keep my attention for too long anyway.

The issue with the demystifying happening so early on (remember: we're just on episode 13) is more than just worrysome. It shows that the idea ran itself dry VERY quickly.

I'm sure to give the second season a shot because I like the protagonists but the shows original draw (the mysterious background) is long gone. It took Supernatural 5 seasons to lose the mystery. It took 13 for Sleepy Hollow. Start small and make baby steps while dwelving into the mystery, don't shove it out as a whole
