This week we’re being introduced to another new face, Duncan Moore, 15th’s newest rookie. Andy is confident that she’ll be up for the task of being a training officer, and boy is she wrong about that. Moore, fresh out of the academy, feels eager and confident. Of course he thinks he is, because he was trained by the academy. Every rookie thinks they know what they’re doing, but to quote season 1, “There is absolutely no training that prepares you for life on the street”. I was shaking my head throughout the episode, the way Andy handled situations with her rookie. What made her think leaving her rookie who’s on his first day on the job alone a good idea? Granted its Andy’s first shift as a training officer, so I’ll give her a pass. She’ll have her work cut out for her if she wants to train Moore into a supercop. Nonetheless, the rookie’s screw ups and antics provide us with some comic relief which I’m grateful for.
Case of the week is brought to you by Andy and her rookie. Heart attack suffered by a man tied to a chair. Luckily the duo managed to close the case without any casualties.
Stop kidding yourself girl
Sam and Andy seems to be doing great together in the beginning of the episode, but Sam’s sister Sarah bursts Andy’s bubble by giving her a reality check that it’s not going to last between them, that Sam’s not going to change. The episode ends with Andy telling Sam she needs some time to think. I think that’s by far the best decision she’s made in this episode. She needs time to sort things out, take a breather and not jump from one relationship into another.
This week we finally get to see Chris for more than 5 seconds. He seems to be going down the bad boy route this season, after finding out he’s not a father anymore. If a person has a great and light personality, there would no doubt be an equally darker side too, yinyang and balance in the world and such. I loved the kind, sweet and good natured side of him, so I’m excited to see where this road will take Chris.
That's your explanation?
Chloe finally explains the situation with Wes, well at least I think she did? She gave Dov metaphors and shallow explanations and I’m not sure I’m buying it. Am I being paranoid or does it seems like Chloe is hiding more from us? Chloe concluded the conversation with "So please, shut up and kiss me before I die". Geez, way to play the death card. If I were Dov I would’ve probe further. But then, I'm not Dov who's deeply in love with a married woman, so there's that.
It's a wonderful day.
Whose happy Oliver’s the new acting staff sergeant? Not Oliver! Inspector Jarvis wants Oliver to be the new staff sergeant and he was a little sceptical about the promotion at first because he’s a street cop, not a white shirt. He seemed rather awkward during parade. I’m sure he’ll do a great job though I wonder if he’ll stick to it for the long run.
OK, with Oliver as the new staff sergeant, I need to know if Frank’s alright. He’s got a child and wife to feed. Is he suspended or fired? I hope we’ll know more.
With Andy being a training officer for the first time, no doubt making some mistakes along the way with her new rookie and Oliver being a white shirt, having to deal with politics and huge responsibilities of being a staff sergeant, in some ways they’re all rookies again. It’ll be interesting to see how well everything will turn out with these three characters.
So how did you guys like the episode? Thoughts about the new rookie? Happy with Oliver’s promotion? Feel free to let me know!
Chloe told Dov the reason was because he was very jealous and possessive and controlling in their relationship and she was ashamed about it and didn't want to tell anyone. You can see what she is talking about in the promo for next week's episode.
ReplyDeleteYeah I know and I saw the promo maybe it's just me being paranoid
ReplyDeletei already hate the new rookie
ReplyDeleteCan I slap the new rookie already? I hated the episode solely because of him, so that makes me hate him twice!!! #GoAwayNewRookie!!!
ReplyDeleteI think people can hate the new rookie all they want and all day long, but the new rookie gave Andy a really awesome new Storyline.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to see his training with Andy.
I enjoyed this episode. I'm very concerned about Chris, can't wait for him and his Storyline to unfold. But I really want to know, what's up with Frank and Noelle.
The only bad thing about this episode was, not enough Gail. lol
Give the rookie a chance! Only the first episode with tons of room for growth..
ReplyDeleteLove that few precious moments of Gail playing ping pong with Andy and when she's eating those chips. Never a dull moment lover her
ReplyDeleteOliver and Gail are the best!
ReplyDeleteSo, it took Andy all of last season to come to realize she loves Sam, and now his sister shows up and Andy has doubts again in a second? We don't know anything about the sister, why not give Sam the benefit of the doubt? Maybe the sister is pure evil .... if it is just to drag out the plot Sam/Andy, please come up with something else.... this back and forth with Andy and Sam is getting lame, I would like their relationship to evolve instead of going backwards.
ReplyDeleteLove the new Rookie, he is so awful, that it is hilariously funny.... lots of potential here!
Oliver is awesome as always, I miss Frank tough!
Actually I didn't understand why she dropped Nick and went back to Sam in the first place.
ReplyDeleteAndy without Sam = fun and happy
Andy with Sam = depressing, poor me, blah, blah
Um andy with nick equal friends with benefits, no passion and BORING, he was nothing more then a distraction! Andy and sam have what we call a real relationship that is not perfect and painted with roses, and they had to learn and grow but now they r ready to give it there all and it will be great, this season is for mcswareck and I can't wait
ReplyDeleteI agree the back and forth with Andy and Sam is tiresome and I imagine it does work in the writers favour to keep us hanging on BUT I do think that Andy jumping right back into thing with Sam wouldn't feel right, it would be as though Nick never meant anything. I think if things are goin to be different for McSwarek this time this need to take a breather and process everything that's happened, they need to be adults about it and really deal with stuff before they can move forward.
ReplyDeleteActually I did not like Sarah and I am grateful that she has gone! I believe that this time McSwarek will be totally different and they will be more open, honest, mature in their relationship. However, they still need time! Andy realized that Sam is being more open and she is really comfortable now with him (we can understand from her actions, she just went to hospital, took off her shoes and just jumped next to him) but still the authors will emphasize that Andy values Nick, she shows care about him in Fite Nite episode but in the near future, I believe that McSwarek will strike back :)
ReplyDeleteI think you and I will just have to disagree on this one... I do not like Andy with Sam at all
