Today's Early Overnight Ratings

This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)

If you are new to ratings or still confused, we recommend you read this excellent Ratings FAQ.

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

  12. Well, Revolution has been doing 1.2/1.3 for 3/4 months so it's quite good to do 1.4/1.5 for once.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Look at CPD! It built on Fire from the night before. Looks like that experiment worked.

    ReplyDelete
  14. YES REVOLUTION, get that renewal!

ABC collapsed from 8 to 11... My poor Suburgatory. Hopefully it gets a 0.2 adjustment like it got a few weeks ago.

I am happy that The 100 didn't fall again but damn it, why doesn't Arrow go up? After last week's episode and with TO's upticking on Tuesday I thought this would be the week!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yep, biggest ratings for 6 episodes I think.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yep, just checked on STV+!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Was NBC pre-empted in Portland again for NBA? It seems like it is for every game.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That Modern Family's ratings seem awfully low. It had a 3.5 last week and it went all the way down to a 2.8?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I get what you mean, though. I guess the short hiatus helped after all.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 1.5 for "Revolution"?! Is good right?!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. 2.8 for MF? That's low ...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Only 2 week till you know either way.

    ReplyDelete
  23. NBC aired basketball playoffs in Portland last night which may impact the early hours on that network.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Last week's episode was so horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I actually enjoyed it a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Omabin--are you joining me on the POSITIVE side for Revolution's renewal chances yet? This helps--and love how DEADLINE says at least a 13 episode renewal is quite possible.

I think REVOLUTION is going to make it!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Good for The 100 :) I hope it keeps its rating in the finals.
It would be nice to see Arrow adjusting up, and I could say the same thing about The 100, but the 0.6 is still good.

    ReplyDelete
  28. What did Arrow get? It's blank on my table...

    ReplyDelete
  29. No,the series low:11/25/2009 2.5/7

    ReplyDelete
  30. Either a .7 or .8 as per the 1/2 hr breakdowns below. We're awaiting the average number to be released.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am still not convinced no, but this is definitely a positive step in the right direction. I still say it's a complete bubble show but I am leaning towards cancellation. The 13 episode thing would surprise me the most though since I don't see the financial incentive for it

    ReplyDelete
  32. Same u_u but even if it's a 0.8, it could still rise to 0.9. I know it's unlikely, but not impossible.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks. Ugh should have thought to check that...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ratings seem to be delayed today. No HH released, delayed average ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. So it wasn't that big a fall for The 100 from last week and I hope it adjusts up .. but is it still good enough for renewal? I hope so.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Tvbythenumbers says it rose, so Arrow got 0.8 :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Some are saying streaming services like Netflix pay more for show that get an ending even if the show is shorter than regular syndication numbers. So a number of sites have posited a short conclusion for Revolution. Others think it may get a full season.

But yes--most sites still agree with you. But I really think Revolution will just make it by a hair(and I agree it's a bubble show)--at least a short renewal...if not more.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yep just checked! I'll take it, a rise is a rise:)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, if you look above the table we note any pre-emptions we're aware of.

    ReplyDelete
  41. But it's no where near 88 episodes, whuch is the standard for syndication now. Shows may get syndication deals for a few episodes less, but I don't see it getting a syndication deal with 50ish episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think it is. April and May are tough for tv shows, but The 100 kept and keeps having a good retention (hoping it won't be adjusted down).

    ReplyDelete
  43. It depends on what fails1 May 2014 at 16:51

Final numbers: Revolution 1.3, SVU 1.7 and PD 1.7

CW recovered a bit, what a drop from ABC.

    ReplyDelete
  44. NBC was pre-empted so Revolution and other NBC shows are likely to be adjusted down.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Streaming services are different--for example Jericho...very popular on Netflix. And even regular syndication there are examples of shows in the 60's and 70's getting deals.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Pablo Troncoso1 May 2014 at 16:59

I just hope this isn't another Almost Human scenario; that show fought really hard for its renewal and FOX opted not to pick it up (which I find amazingly stupid considering how well the show did with 0 promotion and against The Olympics).

If those numbers stick for Revolution in the finals (or go up) NBC should really look at renewing the show, if it can come back after 3 weeks higher than it was last time around and to decent numbers, then I think it's a show worth keeping. A similar scenario that AH was, but this time I hope the network leans toward picking the show up

    ReplyDelete
  47. Pablo Troncoso1 May 2014 at 17:03

Hope those numbers for Revolution stay! I know they could go down, but come on! If it could adjust up too it would be amazing! I'm crossing my fingers for a renewal, this season has been amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  48. 1.4 for Revolution.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sorry ... is that a rating term? =P

    ReplyDelete
  50. It means it was even with last week, didn't drop or go up.

    ReplyDelete
  51. He/she is predicting the numbers after the adjustments later today.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh ok--she didn't really explain that. I'd say could go either way--1.3 or 1.4 depending on Portland. Since it had a 1.5 half hour that might keep it to 1.4.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Got it... thanks :)
So it should be a good thing right?

    ReplyDelete
  54. wow, those Chicago PD ratings were great! Better than 'Fire'- haha!
One Chicago seemed like a hit! :D

    ReplyDelete
  55. Lat night on CSI was the backdoor pilot for the Cyber crime spinoff, It was very good and yet the ratings are bad for CSI. That sucks, I still hope it makes it to series though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Go Revolution.. We can do it!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Revolution up and running, yay! Give us the renewal already, NBC!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah, maybe they'll renew it this week!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I hope so too, but I think they'll announce it at their annual CW upfronts, which is May 15 ... i can't handle waiting until then while the fate of the show hangs in air!! :-/

    ReplyDelete
  60. There was a two-part Chicago Fire/Chicago PD which may account for some of the low rating.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I doubt they shows share an audience. Plus the whole ABC lineup was down.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Actually, the ratings aren't that bad. It was up two-tenths for last episode.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Abc has had it rough w new dramas maybe there is some hope.

    ReplyDelete
  64. CPD characters were great last night. last couple minutes ruined it. but glad ratings were up and they were better than Fire
