May and Ward getting physical, obviously! May kicking some asses is always an amazing sight, but the fact that it was that jerk Ward which she beaten up, it was awesome!!! :D
Hoping Fitz is o.k.... Seems like his brain capacities got reduced a bit, but we don't know how much he's damaged... Maybe it ain't so bad... Althought Simmons' facial expression at the end was kinda heartbreaking...
Fury passing on his title as director to Coulson and telling him to rebuild SHIELD.
Honorable mentions: May kicking Ward's ass and literally nailing him to the floor XD, Coulson killing Garrett once and for all and act like nothing happened, Fury showing up and saving FitzSimmons, and FitzSimmons' emotional exchange in the chamber. So many great scenes.
I literally checked off all of them. Like seriously, how am I supposed to choose? Highlights were the FitzSimmons goodbye scene and Fury rescue'; Coulson and Fury watching as Garrett made a damn fool of himself and got sassed by those two darlings; Coulson finding the weapon and adorably cutting short Garrett's villainous monologue; Skye hyping us up for May to bring a BEAT DOWN FOR THE AGES and reminding the audience who's on top (QUEEN MAY, THAT'S WHO); Koenig pulling a Nurse Joy; Coulson being named not only Director, but an Avenger (Gregg's face alone made the moment priceless); Raina talking to Skye's (supposed) father; and last, but CERTAINLY not least, Coulson acting as a werid conduit for an alien language...
Basically, I loved everything and it was perfect. The end.
I loved EVERYTHING about this episode! The Fitzsimmons conversation about death was just brilliantly written. Jemma's interpretation of Lavoisier's law of thermodynamic was so beautiful.
I think Simmons might try to fix Fitz in S2. She's already done some research on the GH325 and Coulson might be more supportive now that he is...different. Even if he doesn't approve I could see her doing it anyway because it's Fitz.
I voted on all of them. When you got that kind of a finale you can't just choose one it was all great. And now we wait and see to know about the Skye storyline.
Coulson taking care of Garrett was just priceless. Also Fury telling Coulson he did save an Avenger. Coulsons face there was so filled with emotion. Just loved that moment.
The end with Coulson writting on the wall was creepy and well done.
Very hard to chose! So many good scenes but I picked the Fury, Coulson and Garrett dialogue it was so awesome, hilarious and well written. But close : Fury making Coulson director and Fitz telling Jemma how he feels!
Good lord, what a tough choice! Great episode! I went "other," though, the Fitz doing the math scene early on--loved that. Gave me chills. So many other great possibilities, though, from among which I'd probably go with Coulsen finally retiring Garrett.
The beautiful emotional FitzSimmons scenes, and I'm not a shipper, but they were so well-played and intense.
Fury to the rescue!
The Skye/Ward confrontation, I can't even tell you how satisfying it is to see a female character who, as soon as she realizes the male character is evil, forgets all about her feelings for him and detests the crap out of him instead of rationalizing all of the evil shit he's done to justify her hormones. You know, like a normal, sensible human being. From the moment Skye found out the truth about Ward, she washed her hands clean of the guy and didn't listen to ANY of his crap. Thank god.
Fury showing up to help Coulson and giving him the Big Ass Gun from The Avengers!
Ward getting his ass handed to him by May, can't get any more satisfying than that. She literally NAILED him!
Fury and Coulson hilariously making fun of Garrett. "You didn't tell me he'd gone THIS crazy." "He really stepped it up a notch!" And the whole "You went evil because you misheard my speech?" "He was never a good listener." LMAO!
Fury declaring Coulson an Avenger in his eyes, and giving him the keys to SHIELD, hell yes!
The last 7 or 8 episodes of this show has been an amazing roller coaster ride, with this finale being the incredible cherry on top. I don't know how I'm gonna last all summer until Season 2.
Since Coulson is now the director of SHIELD, he will probably apear on The Avengers 2. Hopefully he will take the team on a small mission on the movie. That would be so cool; and that would be lot of promotion for the show too
There were a lot of great scenes in this episode. Among my favorites were...
- All the Nick Fury scenes. The dialogue, his delivery, was all perfect. That exchange between Fury and Coulson, during Garrett's insane evil monologue, was so funny, had great comedic timing, and was so well directed too. I loved those scenes.
- It was so satisfying to see May and Ward's fight, with May winning after the nailgun and her roundhouse kick.
- I also liked the later scene, when Coulson talked to a handcuffed Ward near the end, and said Ward's torture will be internal, but then May deadpanned "and a little external". HA! I had to rewind that several times, and it was still funny, every time.
- Loved this scene a lot too: "Coulson finds what he's looking for and takes care of Garrett once and for all." It was so awesome how that was executed, with Coulson vaporizing Garrett mid-diabolical sentence too.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Loved the bromance!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so, so worried about Fitz!
ReplyDeleteOther. The entire "Fury/Coulson trash talking with Garrett" was probably my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteIt gets harder and harder not to have 20 scenes to choose from!!
ReplyDeleteI was imagining that as part of Garrett not learning the lesson... but your way of phrasing is clearer!

Coulson finds what he's looking for and takes care of Garret once and for all. Awesome, I loved how he's like "found it" and walks off. lol
ReplyDeleteI like Coulson using the 0-8-4 machine which was created by HYDRA against Garrett
ReplyDeleteI loved EVERYTHING about this episode! The Fitzsimmons conversation about death was just brilliantly written. Jemma's interpretation of Lavoisier's law of thermodynamic was so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEvery scene! I can't choose, like every moment with FitzSimmons was beautiful and heartbreaking and ugh my darling scientists.
ReplyDeleteEvery scene with Fury and Coulson was badass, hilarious and touching.
May vs Ward was so damn satisfying.
Skye finding Ace was so damn adorable.
Mike watching Ace from a distance was so damn sad.
Garrett going mad was so damn fun to watch.
What an episode!

ReplyDeleteAce play a huge part in taking down Garrett........Deathlok turning against Garrett was great
ReplyDeleteThey should buy Fitz a monkey that will make him better in no time right? Right?? Oh my darling Fitz I am worried!
ReplyDeleteI voted on all of them. When you got that kind of a finale you can't just choose one it was all great. And now we wait and see to know about the Skye storyline.

ReplyDeleteThe part where Coulson vaporized robo-Garrett. That was absolutely hilarious.

Mike turning on Garrett at last.
Garrett speechifying about how awesome he's gonna be before BAM! Coulson blows his ass to smithereens! And then makes a totally blasé "Found it!" remark, ha.
"Ward and May get physical, and May nails it."
ReplyDeleteFantastic phrasing. XD
Their "Can you believe this guy?" expressions and voices were absolutely hysterical.
