So many good scenes this week, so have to have Emily finding Aiden and her breakdown such great acting. Then Conrad cheerfully walking down the road singing until wham bam Papa Clarke is back. Top scene has to be ending!
Who else wishes Emily buried Victoria alive. and just when victoria thought she was gonna die (like she always said) she'd drag her ass out and put her into the mental institution. She deserved to pay before going into the mental institution. i want her to be really psychotic. so she'd never be let out.
Jackily was always the endgame even though Aimily has gotten good. I never believed in this couple because I didn't believe that Emily and Aiden could be happy elsewhere under a new identity. The way Emily can leave it all behind her is if she takes back her real identity, scare free and happily ever after with Jack like it was all meant to be.
I really wanted Emily discovering Aiden dead to be the most powerful gut wrenching scene as I liked those two together but Aiden's fish eyes made it silly. I'm all for grit and realism but that scene was unintentionally comical when it should have been traumatic and tearful. Very annoyed they ruined what should have been a deeply sad scene.
You can't compete with that ending, but but I also voted for David being exonerated (such a moment of catharsis) and Emily & Victoria squaring off at the cemetery. Honorable mention for the cabin fight (well-done), Victoria murdering Aiden (chill) and Emily finding Aiden's body (tear).
The funny thing is that if it hadn't been for what Victoria had done to Aiden, I might actually feel bad for her. She's not nearly as bad as Conrad in terms of what she's done. But after she killed Aiden (and because EMILY took the person she loved - Emily, not Conrad?!), she deserves whatever she gets.
As much as I loved the music and surreal feel in the scene where David stabs Conrad, I just can't deal with David being alive (assuming that the show isn't pulling our leg and it's a dream sequence or something). It feels like so much of the show has retroactively become meaningless. If David was alive all of this time, wouldn't he have reached out to Nolan years ago so that the two of them could try to prove his innocence? Wouldn't he have contacted his own daughter after she got out of juvie? Unless of course, the writers are going to follow up on the whole "your father wasn't the man you thought he was" comment Victoria made to Emily... and vilifying David after 3 seasons of a show about his daughter trying to avenge him would be even worse. The other thing I didn't like about that scene is that I think death is too easy for Conrad. He should've rotted in prison for the rest of his days, to feel what it's like to trade the life of luxury he built on other people's suffering and deaths for a miserable existence in a tiny cell.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Come on, whacking Victoria on the end was the best. I mean, you could FEEL the satisfaction Emily had in that scene.

ReplyDeleteThe end where Emily leaves Victoria locked up. REVENGE!
ReplyDeleteI respect shows when they dont shy away from killing popular characters. Lucky for me, I hate aiden :)
ReplyDeleteEvery scene! Even the Daniel/Margaux stuff was entertaining.

Victoria killing Aiden and Emily finding him were amazing scenes, but I didn't vote for it 'cause I hate that he's dead.
