  2. Hard to choose between the plane scene and the ending... Not that the ending didn't make me grin like an idiot (and still does), but in the end I picked the plane scene because Simon and Robin were both amazing in it, and it showed some tremendous character development for Jane.

Otherwise, eh, Other: the whole episode.

  3. Yes, loved the episode. But the plane scene was beautifully done by Simon and Robin and of course Lisbon coming back and the Jane/Lisbon kiss at the end was icing on the cake. This season finale is has been my favorite out of all the shows/and their season finales I've watched.

    Can't wait for season 7 :)

  5. I know we are only suppose to pick one but I can't. I loved the scene on the plane when Jane declares his love for Lisbon, and the last scene when she tells him.

  6. The whole episode was good, but I figured most people would have a hard time picking between those two. :)

  7. I was scared that it would be a comic moment but it was in fact quite dramatic, they've done a really good job. Jane and Lisbon crying while he declared his feelings was beautiful. It was very honest and romantic. Well done :)

  8. I loved the whole episode and I am so surprised to! Because for me Jisbon has always be more about friendship and I really expected to be disappointed by the season (or series) finale if they finally get into it.
But awww these two scenes at the end when they are declaring their love for each other felt so true to their characters. I can't just pick one because for me it worked as a whole, something plain and complete.

  11. Predictably torn between the plane scene and the ending. Both gorgeously romantic and perfect. :)

  13. The acting was superior. I loved the whole episode. It was perfect. I have to chose the kiss as the best scene. I was shedding tears and said out loud to nobody they are going to kiss. Grinning from ear to ear.

  16. All round awesome episode, especially from the ruined dinner plans to the end. How on earth am I supposed to survive 8 months without The Mentalist!!! I wonder how much of a time jump they will make from season 6 to 7?

  18. This was so hard to choose from. So many good parts in the episode.

I chose the plane scene ultimately. The hotel scene at the door was well-acted by Robin but seemed just a tad bit forced by Simon. The kiss was nice, not earth-shattering, but nice. But it didn't feel real. It was sweet and tender but almost jarred me out of the scene because it didn't feel like two people in love, who have gone through what they've gone through, and are so incredibly close - after all that it took to get to this moment it felt almost... anti-climactic, to be perfectly candid. I know it's popular because they finally actually touched each other's lips (LOL - Understandable) and it sealed the deal. And it was nicely written. But I felt the writing exceeded the performances when it came to the kiss. The banter before was perfect. Really, the best part wasn't the execution of the kiss by the actors, but the fact that they finally kissed: I loved the banter leading up to the kiss - and the honesty in the words more.

But the plane scene, was absolute perfection. Tunney and Baker were superb in that scene and the dialogue was impeccable. The speech was beautifully written and perfect. And the performances, the words, felt real: the emotions felt raw and sad and full of genuine love. And that was what made it perfect. When good writing comes together with acting that feels genuine, that puts you there in that moment, that makes you identify with the characters, the result is sublime and what every good TV show or film reaches only in rare epochs. It's been awhile since I've been impressed by a scene like that...

But Tunney and Baker nailed it in that scene. Their tears felt real. He felt real. The look on his face when he told her he loved her, when he told her those were his real feelings and the quavering of his voice, the way it cracked when he told her he couldn't imagine waking up and not seeing her - Baker had me there. I felt (and have felt) what he expressed so beautifully there. Flawless is the word that sprang readily to mind after watching it.
