First off...Catherine's reaction when she thought it was Mary's head being dropped in her lap was priceless and highlighted one of my favorite things about that relationship. It's soooo complicated. She was angry enough to order her death but horrified by the idea of that order actually having been carried out. Mary was angry with Catherine and willing to steal from her, but not to the point of physically harming her. Compared to how things were between the two of them at the start of the season, hell up until Clarissa's death, I feel like they've made great strides lol. Catherine was right to be concerned by what Mary might have learned from her, though. Intentionally or not, she has been teaching her daughter in law how to be an effective monarch.
I liked Francis fighting with the soldiers and earning the respect of the men he's going to rule one day, and Leith earning himself Francis' favor. My concern regarding Leith, though, is how much generosity Castleroy has already shown Greer and her family with that marriage contract. There's also the fact that I don't want the man to get his heart broken. He's such a sweetheart.
I also liked the solidification of Lola's marriage. It makes sense now why Julien kept Lola but not Greer. He probably found out Greer's family was broke. I'm glad he didn't leave Lola..
I thought it was one of their best episodes! Excepting the fight scenes and the whole taking the castle with a dozen men which was ridiculous, I really enjoyed this episode. I think I've really liked the last few episodes because they have toned down the supernatural element which actually was ruining the show for me, especially the stupid vampire cult thing. I doubt that's gonna be the case for long, though, considering the promo. I was so happy to see Leith again. I was worried we wouldn't see him again. I have to say, though, that I'm worried about what's gonna happen with Greer. I love them together but Castleroy has been so good to Greer. Plus he helped Leith. It's gonna be really unfair to him if Greer leaves him for Leith. It's a no win situation, really. Also, the Catherine-Mary material was great.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
loved it
ReplyDeletegreat episode, one complaint tho those fights looked awfull lol.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Moreover, idea of taking over the castle with 12 soldiers is simply ridiculous, even for CW.
ReplyDeleteI love Mary more and more each day, and I can never lose my Catherine!!!

Another great episode. Catherine is wonderfully complicated as is Mary.
