  1. The team has officially been assembled. Another great episode. I wonder how Dorian Grey and the Irish girlfriend will fit into all of this, right now they seem like such unnecessary characters, present only for the sex. I have a feeling the latter will be killed off and resurrected as the bride of Frankenstein's monster, as he so desires.

  2. The pact has been made!
Love the moment with Ethan and Vanessa during their pact that was real cool that seems to have a deeper meaning which was nice.

Then Ethan at the zoo like woa what just happened there. It has to be something or know something for him to handle the situation like that.

I forgot Frankenstein's first born name but I really liked his self told story. After seeing him look at the actress the way he did I was like woa did he end up killing her but no it was better he was smarter he asks for a immortal bride!

I also feel like after this episode and the pact maybe Dorian may not be part of the team at least for a while. But he may play a different role.

  3. Awesome episode! But I expected no less :-) Brona becoming the monster-bride is a good theory, it would also make the plot very interesting.

  4. This series is definitely living up to expectations! With a "Slow - Burn" pacing the mystery and intrigue just keep you wanting more. Here are a few "Wild Theories" of mine (No Spoilers).
    1) Ethan - is a werewolf and the current "Ripper".
    2) Brona Croft - will die or be killed, thereby become the "Bride".
    3) Caliban "The Monster" - will be season 1's main antagonist (the "Master Vampire", Dracula won't be introduced until season finale).
    4) Dorian Gray - will join the group, but not of his own choosing.
    5) Vanessa - is she the St. of Cornwall or is she Lilith (first wife of Adam)?
Just some "Wild Theories" of mine........yes I have to much time on my hands. Looking forward to next Sunday and Penny Dreadful too!

  5. I was thinking about something and maybe it has nothing to do with it, but in the pilot there's one scene I didn't really understand, when Ethan came to Malcolm's house and saw Vanessa at the window, he was about to go see her (I assume) but then Malcolm came in and Ethan was upset and left. But I wonder now, when Malcolm said in this episode "Her gifts make her vulnerable. They also make her desirable". Is it possible Ethan was drawn to her that night in the pilot because of their moment during the "pick a card" scene?

  6. I suspect Sir Malcolm Murray will steal Dorian's painting (the source of his immortality and weakness) and use it to blackmail him into joining the group. Murray has shown he will do anything to get what he wants (his daughter, Mina Murray) even using/endangering other members of the group (he used Vanessa Ives as bait this episode). Vanessa will probably play a part in setting Dorian up, if she isn't the one to steal the painting herself. Just detailing on my "Wild Theory no.4"! Nobody, 4 NOW!!!

  9. This series has a ton of story lore to choose from because of the main characters ie: Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and of course Mina Murray aka "Dracula's Bride" by way of her father, Sir Malcolm Murray. I like this series take on vampires so far and I'm really looking forward to the introduction of "The Master" (Dracula)! Nobody, 4 LATER!!!
