Tatiana Maslany is an Actress. She doesn't suggest or depict emotions. She performs them and doesn't hold anything back. And Helena, what a marvellous character! I just wish to see Cosima more and in the thick of it.
Unbelievable! Orphan Black is "Must Watch Saturday TV"! Shall we count the ways (No Spoilers). 1) Alison - "Stepford Wife/Alias Clone" is trapped in suburbanite #3LL that just keeps getting worse and worse. Whatever shall she do? 2) Mrs. S - a lady of mystery with so many layers. 3) Helena - from "Clone Killer" to "Sister - Wife". Is it wrong to root/cheer for her, because I am. 4) First Game of Thrones and now Continuum actor guest appearances.Orphan Black certainly has arrived! I wonder if there is a list? 5) Sarah needs a "Kick - @$$" partner to watch her back. Art and/or the "Shakira Clone" would be my choses. Watching this series just leaves me wanting more and looking forward to the next episode. The ending for this episode may have been the most intense yet. 4 THE ORPHAN CLONE CLUB, I will remain Nobody!!! PS - anyone interested in seeing a young 18 yr old Tatiana Maslany and 22 yr old Katharine Isabelle (Hannibal/Margot Verger) in one of their earlier works..............here is a gift. Your welcome, fellow posters! http://www.sockshare.com/file/F076A1B2DBFFB70E
That scene at the end was stunning. Sarah was so terrified of Daniel, then the music comes on and out of the shadows comes a horror slasher Queen Helena here to save the day and yet Sarah's nightmare is not over. She looks horrified not relieved and then comes the creepiest hug ever.....oh boy.
I can't even begin to describe the last scene between Sarah and Helena (Between Tatian and Tatiana). The clones need Helena on their sides. On how many occasions has she saved Sarah. She is what she is...but i love her. I would have loved to see more Cosima though.
That final scene was amazing. Maslany was breathtaking. The terror on Sarah's face, the look of horror when Helena showed up, the increasing terror as she came closer covered with blood. The final hug. Sarah's face as she kind of hug Helana. That was a really creepy hug.
As for Helana. Despite all she's done, I can't help but feel for her. She was abused, manipulated, used and god knows what. When the girl from the farm called her "it"..., Helena is indeed a monster. She was made that way. They've made her a monster.
I like the fact Kira isn't the least disturb by the fact her mommy has 3 sisters. Since, she apparently knows Alison, Helena and Cosima...
another outstanding ep with the excellent reunion at the end.... the only so-so element of the ep was Roger Cross' characters accent (or attempt at one)
From the video and Cosima's research plus the freaky eugenicist who had harvested Elena's eggs.and fertilized them. Only the First generation can have offspring. All others are sterile. Also with the comments about the LEDA Group and Rachel's parents video that Sarah saw in her apt. Also from Mrs. S meeting with the known criminal. The talked about how he had stolen the kids and hid them with her and one of the child got stolen and ended up in the Religious group in Ukraine.
Drawing a blank here, which video? The one of the Duncans? Cosima's research has yet to get any results that we know of. That Helena can have children seems pretty much true, but that doesn't tell us anything about which generation clones Helena and Sarah may or may not belong too. From all the things you mention I still do not get first generation clones, it wasn't said out loud of implied anywere. All the clones are so far of the same age, even if Sarah and Helena were the first generation (batch would be the better word in my opinion), wouldn't the 2nd/3th etc. generation be 'better' less flawed?
It was in Cosima's comments when Sarah was watching the video where she mentioned that Rachel was a second gen clone. Unable to conceive. Then the creepy family scientist was watching eggs harvested from Elena fertilize and grow.
No the eggs they used during the cloning process were coming from the first generations. So the second came from the third. Since the original egg was long gone.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Didn't watch it, but it's Orphan Black, so: it was amazing and Tatiana Maslany is a genious.

ReplyDeleteHoly shit you are missing out; there was wailing and flailing, from me!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously tho, DAMN!!!!

ReplyDeleteImagining what she must go through mentally is utterly exhausting. And that's just thinking about it. She's amazing.

ReplyDeleteThe Helena/Sarah relationship has just skyrocketed to the top of the list of what I like most about this series.

ReplyDeleteSo many mixed emotions...Sarah terrified of seeing a ghost reappearing and there Helena just looking for help.
ReplyDeleteTatiana for Emmy this year. That's all I have to say.
