Woah, that scene with FitzSimmons in the sealed chamber made my heart ache. Once again, amazing performances by Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge. I'm happy they both survived tonight.
It was so satisfying to see May beat the shit out of Ward. I have been waiting for that all season!
The exchange between Coulson, Fury, and Garrett was absolutely priceless. "You didn't tell me he'd gone this crazy." "He's really stepped it up a notch". HAHA!
I would have liked to see Skye kill Garrett but it was so badass to see Mike be the one to do it and THEN have Coulson finish him off midsentence and then brush it off like nothing ever happened. Hilarious!
Holy shit at Fury promoting Coulson to Director! That was so awesome and I'm so happy for him. All hail Director Coulson!
I was not expecting Koenig to still being alive! Perhaps he is an LMD?
And looks like we got our first glimpse of one of Skye's parents! Seriously can't wait for that storyline next season.
Also, what the hell is happening to Coulson?! Now he's completing the drawing that Garrett did? I'm intrigued now.
Overall, I'am so glad I stuck with this show because it has quickly climbed to the top of my favorites. Season 2 can't come soon enough. Some big changes are coming!
So many feels...Fitz-Simmons..nooo…FURY!! in helicopter! with a G.U.N.!! Top scene of the night!…Skye and Ward face-off…May and Ward face-off!! RoboCop Garrett! Coulson with the BIG Icer!….Awesome...Directory Coulson!…So much...
I LOVED THE WHOLE EPISODE, but Nick and Phil were the best part of the whole episode the way they went in on Garrett. My wish for season 2 add Maria and Trip to the cast
So happy you have stuck with the show! It's so crazy to think how much the Winter Soldier has completely changed the game for SHIELD. The stakes are higher than they have ever been and it's so awesome to see it unfold.
No raging here! I just would like to know why you didn't like the finale. Was it something the characters did that made you not like it? Or something else entirely?
Okay, so that's what that was at the very end with the drawing stuff. I was kind of lost there and thought maybe it was some tie in to the Marvel universe that I am just unaware of.
I DIED with laughter when Garrett got all robo'ed and launched into that maniacal diatribe until Coulson shot him and was like "I told you guys this thing still worked!". Classic Coulson, never change (except for being an alien conduit- 'cause that shit is cool).
fantastic finale! sooo many great scenes: Fitz/Simmons, Coulson/Fury dialogue, May "sharing her feelings with Ward", Mike Peterson finally getting rid of his shackles, and Coulson's punchline to Garrett was great... I can't wait to see what next season will bring!
Thank god for Garrett's death scene. On it's own it was too much of a birth of Darth Vader moment, with Coulson killing him nonchalantly it was hilarious.
Quick question for anyone who pays more attention to this show than me: the thing that Garrett and Coulson were drawing, did that look familiar to anyone else? I swear we've seen it before in a previous episode. Can anyone confirm this?
I know the minute I say this, everyone is going to be Googleing it so yeah, here it goes. Did anybody else catch the language Coulson was writing at the end? *Hint!* if you're a comic book fen like me, then you should already have a pretty good idea what it is. 😊❤️
That was amazing! One of the best show ever! So glad May get to kick Ward's ass, kinda disappointed they didn't killed him thought. Where are they going to put him, the Fridge? There's isn't any Fridge anymore! Hated that guy, really, 'was kinda worried they'd give him some kind of cheesy, last minute change-of-heart to save Skye or something! 'guess she didn't needed saving in the end (althought, again, she had May as back-up! ^_^). Yeah, Skye herself is growing to be a badass, and they hinted in ''Ragtag'' that May could become her mentor, her new S.O.; that should be very interesting! ^_^
Also, I'm EXTREMELY worried about Fitz! They said his brain got left without oxygen, and that he may never be the same again 'cause of Ward's attempt at his and Simmons lifes (damn you, Ward!!!). Fitz, I hope you come back relatively fine next year! Things wouldn't be the same without Simmons and you speaking at the same time all the time! Plus, you need to have some sexy-times with Simmons now; you totally deserves it, dude!
Oh thank god my darlings FitzSimmons are alive but I am worried about Fitz, just how bad is his condition and how much will this change him? And will Director Coulson now let him have a monkey?
Fury is the greatest and has no time for Garrett's cloud cuckoo land shit. I kind of figured he brought Coulson back because of how much he trusts him and the scene when he asks him to rebuild SHIELD was just lovely.
May got to kick Ward's ass and he deserved every damn bit of it.
Aww Mike I hope he becomes a superhero next season to redeem for his sins even if it wasn't his fault.
That ending, damn Skye's father looks messed up. And is Coulson now a conduit for some alien being?
Brilliant. It had almost everything I wanted: Fitz & Simmons continuing to be adorable science geeks; Skye continuing to not give into Ward; May beating the crap out of Ward; Garrett getting pulverised (in lovely shades of blue and violet); Ward NOT being redeemed (with a possibility he'll return for more mayhem next season?)...
There were also awesome moments with Coulson and Fury, but I wasn't afraid of that not happening. My heart skipped a beat when Fury basically said Coulson was an Avenger. D'awww!
Okay, this is my idea... Sooo, since they were injected with Kree blood (and we're writing in Kree). What if Skyes parents are Skrull! What if she is the Skrull Queen - Veranke/ Spider Woman!?!? Or the princess! Anyways, crazy possibilities! And this episode was freakin awesome. I cried at Fitz-Simmons. I squealed and seal clapped at Fury saving them. Coulson killing Garrett almost made me pee my pants I was laughing so hard! SOoooo good
You know, I totally get what you are saying about the acting. But when I view it through the prism of the show being an extension of the movies, you can see that it shares a certain sense of humor with the rest of the franchise. Kind of cheesy with silly one-liners that are probably meant to be more clever than they actually are. So in that respect, I find the performances kind of fun because they aren't taking themselves too seriously. But to be fair, not everyone delivers the humor the same way. The dramatic acting isn't bad though either. But I find Ward and Skye and to a lesser extent, May, a little too cardboard and stiff. At least in Ming Na's case, however, this is a reflection of her character and not of her ability.
This totally seemed liked something one of the movies would do. It was great. For a minute I was scared that he would continue live on to be a mustache-twirling villain. Always been a Bill Paxton fan, but the character was close to being played out.
so I guessing since the team save the day killing Garett and all they did not get arrested.......I guess there was some agreement behind the scene for team coulson to be allow to leave freely?
Why is new Koenig saying the same things. I wish Ward kills him too... lol jk but really what he be, he didn't say he was a twin right.
Great Finale, It will keep me going tru the summer, + help from summer shows.
Loved every moment of the under sea moment with Fitz/Simmons. Thanks Fury for saving them.
When Quinn and Reina came in to Garret's team I knew they would be wild card and basically independent beings. So seeing them bail was expected. Mainly Raina, I guess she will go far as she can till she herself evolves apparently. I wonder tho did how does one even go about knowing "monsters", I'm guessing she has been searching for along time for the lost baby aka Skye. We don't see much of one of the "monster" parent of Skye, but if he is human, we know that he can be mysterious enough to be all that bloody, but seems like he will be something different, So I'll be digging that.
May/Ward fight was great, but in the end my main thought was, ouch, how is he gonna get his feet fixed. why...but It was.
And yay Fury promotes Coulsen to Director, I hope next season he uses that status to actually re build the organization in some way. - and guessing once on the Bus, Coulsen might have seen the writings Garrett wrote on the door, that might have triggered his foreign/alien DNA to give him acknowledgement something bigger again.
This was, hands down, my favorite season finale so far (still have a couple to go, but at this point it is definitely going to be in the top 3). Pure awesomeness from start to finish. I can't wait to see where they go from here. :)
I couldn't give it "Awesome" but I gave it great. There were a couple things which felt like rehash from Buffy/Angel/Cabin in the Woods, which is what deducted points for me. The opening felt like it could have come from Cabin, Fitz and Simmons felt like trapped Angel, and Coulson's ending made me think "Will he open up a portal next?" Still it was quite enjoyable, and I laughed when Garrett died for real. I knew they would be the foundation for a new Shield. Some think Steve would be upset, but I don't. He wasn't opposed to the idea of Shield, but how Shield did it. He would trust Coulson, too.
My god that was awesome! Where to start? Oh yeah FitzSimmons, their scene in the sealed tank was heartbreaking, I really though for a minute we were going to lose Fitz, who sacrifices his life for the woman he loves. THE FEEEEELS!! I'm a bit worried we didn't see him at the end and that is last known status he's alive but "he might never be the same".
I though I wanted Ward to redeem himself but after that fight with May, I want him to suffer he was so cruel! When Garrett managed to access his machine and became Crazy Robot : I was like "OH SHIT OH SHIT HE'S SO NOT DEAD!!!" but "I will be unstop..." FLASH AHAHAHAH Coulson just walking away happy to have found his old toy. That was crazy hilarious and at least now we sure he's dead! Holy shit at Skye's Father this is going to be so great!! And the best : Nick Fury of course!! Specially all the exchange with Coulson in front of Garrett, literally all the lines were hilarious and so well written. Best dialogue EVER!! And awww at making him SHIELD's new director. Can't wait for season 2!!
PS : Billy is Eric's twin right? Or is he a clone? I didn't really get that part and in SHIELD everything is possible!
WOW!! Just started watching this show recently and that finale was... WOW I mean that had to be the most entertaining hour of telly I've watched in a while.
Well I am amazed. A season finale that DID NOT dissapoint. This episode rocked on so many levels. Now I am a MAJOR Coulson girl and Phil was awesome in this ep...but then I am biased..*g*. I loved his whole "I found it scene"
I will admit I am SO not into the whole shipping thing of Ward/Skye or of Fitz/Simmons in previous eps the soapy elements have bugged me. But this episode handled every element perfectly even the scene with Fitz and Simmons. It was pitched just right.
And being a massive Samuel L Jackson fan I am so pleased he wasnt just in the ep for a quick cameo, Coulson and Fury facing off against Garret was brilliant. And the scene where Fury is handing everything over to Coulson was awesome. He and Coulson were great together.
And lets not forget May beating the shit out of Ward :) And Garrett was just creepy as hell.
Bit worried about my boy at the end of the ep though, bit creepy him writting on the wall.
By far the best episode of the season. A lot of Sam Jackson would've done that alone for me, but the Garrett deathscene (final one) was just too good, and some great Patton Oswalt to top it off with.
Billy could be his twin (Eric mentioned how he plays Call of Duty with his brother) but many are speculating he is a Life Model Decoy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Model_Decoy . I think he could be one but doesn't realise it (he thinks he is Eric's brother), and that there are Kroenig models in all of Fury's secret bases.
Thanks that's what I though too, a Kroening in every base because he said the exact same thing than Eric. I hope we will learn a little more about them in the next season!
What I would like them to do with AoS in S2: have a few sub-plots which connect to the film universe more, where there are multiple threats they have to deal with while rebuilding. Someone who should be brought into it, for example, is the real Mandarin. He would fit with what they have established.
I wish I had the excitement for S2 that most seem to have. Unfortunately the finale did little for me. I guess that comes from being a predominantly Wade fan than any other character. They are so back and forth with his character it’s getting annoying for me. One moment they show a sign of something worth saving then they switch him back to a crazy person....I understand that good TV for some, ... just not me. Watching him be a villian holds no interest for me, so if that’s the plan this will likely be my final ep. I’m not a Fitz or Simmons or May fan in the slightest, so there’s not much holding me to the show. :(
Actually Garrett is officially dead, if you watch the last scene Coulson began to draw that think we now know the he is totally one 100% dead. And here is why. That connection that Garrett had was brought by the serum and when he died that connection was severed and if he could have been brought back then that connection would not be moved now to Coulson.
u honestly thought he would turn sides after everything he has done the only person who thought he could still be a good guy was fitz and look wat ward did to fitzsimmons we dont even know that damage tha has been caused to fitz and the rest of the team hates his guts so even if he did something good in the episode it still would of ended the same for ward and the only way they will ever team with ward again is i they have no choice and still they would hate him
I thought this episode was great. And i certainly enjoy it a lot. But "best season finale ever", i don't know, i'll have to think on that. I was great, but it has a lot of serious competition. In no particular order (contains massive spoilers):
Buffy the Vampire Slayer- Season 3 Finale "Graduation Day part 2": The Mayor's ascension, blowing up the school. Season 5 Finale "The Gift": Buffy battles Glory, Giles murders Glory's human host, Buffy dies. Season 7 Finale "Chosen": Buffy and gang open the Hellmouth, all potentials in the world become slayers, Spike sacrifices himself burying the Hellmouth and Sunnydale.
Star Trek: Deep Space 9- Season 5 Finale "A Call To Arms": The Dominion declares war, takes the station, the Defiant escapes to join a combine Federation/ Klingon fleet of thousands of ships. Season 6 Finale "Tears of the Prophet": Sisco leads the combined Federation/ Klingon/ Romulan fleet, to attack the Dominion. The Breen hand them their asses, Dukat murders Jadzia Dax and closes off the wormhole and the Prophets.
The Walking Dead- Season 2 Finale "Beside The Dying Fire": The Farm is overrun by Walkers. The group is scared and on the run. Rick declares the Rick-tatorship. Season 4 Finale "A" Badass Rick is back! He rips a guys throat out, with his teeth. Rick, Michonne, and Carl are reunited with Daryl. The group is taken prisoner by cannibals.
Game of Thrones- Season 2 Finale "Valar Morghulis" Theon is betray by his own men. Daenerys' dragons burn her enemies down, at The House of the Undying, A White Walker Army marches south.

Season 2 Finale "Live Together, Die Alone": Michael betrays Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley; the others capture them. Locke destroys the hatch computer, cause a countdown to destroy the world. Desmond saves the day. Season 3 Finale "Through the Looking Glass": Charlie dies. We find out that this season's flashbacks are flash forwards, and Jack and Kate made it home. But all Jack now wants is to go back to the Island. Jin "dies", the freighter sinks, Ben moves the island. Back in the flash forwards, Jack finds a way to get back to the island, with Ben's help. But they have to take Jeremy Betham's corpse with them, who turns out to be Locke.
Babylon 5- Season 3 Finale "Za'ha'dum": Sheridan goes to the homeworld of the Shadows, with his wife. He nukes their largest city, escaping by jumping into a chasm miles deep. G'kar is captured by the Centauri, Garibaldi is captured by the Shadows.
Battlestar Galactica Season 2 Finale "Lay Down Your Burdens": Baltar becomes President. Colonizes New Caprica. Months later after the fleet is manned by a skeleton crew, the Cylons jump a fleet in. The Colonial fleet jumps out, leaving the population on the planet unprotected. The Cylons invade New Caprica, Baltar surrenders.
The 4400 Season 3 Finale "Fifty Fifty": Isabel moves on the 4400 center, killing many. And taking several school children hostage. Collier begins his plan, to give anyone who wants them powers. He has his followers start handing out promicin, but there's a catch. Fifty percent die, fifty percent gain a super power.
And that just scratches the surface. I left out Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Angel, Dexter, Heroes season1, and many more. Great season finale, as i said. But the best???
When Garret got that suite I was thinking that makes him the real Deathlock and now mike does not have to be evil anymore but then while writhing this I read on wiki that Deathlock is not a villan so... now i'm just happy with the funny moment of Coulsen ending Garret.
with Skye's father, I don't want to label him Alien, or a true monster just yet, because I don't know how far this show is willing to go in the supernatural/sci fi directions. so I think that even he is human he can be capable of being monster. But once BluRay comes out 1080p gonna re watch for more details.
Since Coulson is now the director of SHIELD, he will probably apear on The Avengers 2. Hopefully he will take the team on a small mission on the movie. That would be so cool; and that would be lot of promotion for the show too.
I'm probably the only one, but I seriously HATED the May/Ward fight scene. I mean I get it that she's pissed. I understand her motivation. And he was an awful humanbeing in this episode (I mean the things he said to Skye and May were cringeworthy) and maybe he deserved it, I don't know. Although, does anyone? I also know that neither May, nor Skye, and not even Coulson know the full extent of what was done to Ward, but... He's a f*ing ABUSE VICTIM. He was beaten as a kid, by his closest family members, forced to beat up the youngest of the family, he was mindf*ed by Garrett, to the point of having Stockholm Syndrome, we saw with our own eyes that he was raped by another mindf*er.
And here they go and abuse him some more.
Skye's speech I get. She's very young and she really has no idea what he'd been through before he turned to be this pathetic not-even-evil guy. May... Well, she's been personally hurt, but no one can say that their sex was not consensual. Anyway, that's beside the point. May has a lot of rage issues, even without the Berserker staff, so I kind of can forgive her. To a degree. I hated her satisfaction at "I may have fractured his larynx". She took away his voice for crying out loud. And then Coulson. The good guy. The guy praised in the next scene by Fury himself for being "the heart of SHIELD", the upholder of Shield's pure principle of protecting people, of each person being worth saving. This nice and pure and righteous man responds to May's wrecking up a victim of life-long abuse with "Oh, good."
I read some viewer's opinion, that they wouldn't "want to meet the folks who DO forgive Ward in a dark alley". I wouldn't want to meet anyone who felt satisfaction looking at Ward being shattered, at his voice being taken away from him, in a brightly lit ballroom.
BTW, I do not forgive Ward for what he did. What I do, is UNDERSTAND him. I may be willing to forgive, time will tell what they will do with his character.
I had lots of doubts if I should speak up about it at all, because I'm clearly looking at it too emotionally, but the more I read about how awesome May was, the more I want to scream at my computer screen.
Well we will just need to agree to disagree on this one. A lot of the finales you mentioned above I have never seen, as I am sure there are ones I love that you will not have scene as we obviously watch a lot of different programs.
I didnt like Lost at all, dont watch Walking Dead, didnt watch Breaking Bad, watched one season of Dexter. Although I am a Massive Buffy fan I don't really cound thoses season finales as my favourite episodes. Though I do love them to bits. Don't watch Game of Thrones, not a big fan of Babalon 5, watched it if it was on but thats all. DS9 though way better than Voyager again that finale didnt grab me as much as the Agents one did. And I will tell you why.
I fully expected them to cop out on some elements. Or go soapy on others. but they didnt. Fuys appearance was more than just a one line cameo, Fitz and Simmons wasnt overly heart and flowers sentimental thank god. Ward didnt make cow eyes over Skye declare his undying love and swap sides to be forgiven (that was my biggest fear), May got to kick ass and Coulson got to kick ass, be funny and kill Garrett. It surprised me. On every storyline it surprised me by not going for the obvious. It made me laugh it made me smile and after the really bad day I had after being at the doctors, it took me out of myself for an hour and stopped me worrying that I might have cancer. So I'm sorry if it doesnt live up to your standards of awesome but for me it did.
Oh and if we are talking great finales Sherlock Seasons 1, 2 and 3.
Everyone has their own tastes. I loved AOS's season finale, i gave it a 9.5. So don't get me wrong. I haven't seen Sherlock yet, i plan on watching it after Hannibal is done (only 3 episode seasons?). Sorry to here about your possible cancer, i've been there. And i worry all the time, about it coming back. Television, movies, books, and games; are a great way to forget your troubles. That's why i get so wrapped up in them.
Tell me about it I went on a bit of a binge that day watching anything I could get my hands on I even rewatched sherlock. But the Agents one was the best therapy. Because I had expected them to whimp out on a couple of things and they didnt I think thats why I enjoyed it so much the fact that it surpassed my expectations. Plus Coulson and Fury were awesome. *Sorry a bit biased there*
I hope you enjoy Sherlock I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes for years, and specifically Jeremy Bretts Sherlock Holmes and thought nothing could ever change that. After watching the first episode of the BBC show I was stunned. I thought it was one of the best written, shot and acted shows I had seen in a long time. The fact that the writers are both big Arthur Conan Doyle fanboys helps a lot.
Yep there are only three episodes per season. If you watch it and like it see if you can get your hands on the unaired Pilot. Its the same episode as Season 1 episode 1. Its interesting to watch for the differences it was shot a year before season 1.
When you get around to it let me know what you think I would love to know.
Entertaining finale! Lots of fun. I loved all the action, humor, and team interactions.
I liked all the Nick Fury scenes, especially the ones with Coulson and Garrett. I laughed a lot during those scenes. It was a welcome surprise when Fury saved Fitz-Simmons. I loved all of Fury's dialogue. Actually, the dialogue for everyone was really well done for this episode. Fitting, while still funny.
Fitz-Simmons were cute. I'm glad they're ok. I hope Fitz is back to normal soon, although I'm worried he might have a rough recovery for a while, when the show returns.
I liked the May and Ward fight, and cheered when she finally knocked him out with that awesome round-house kick. I thought May was way cool, kicking ass throughout this episode. When Coulson talked to Ward near the end, and said Ward's torture will be internal, but then May deadpanned "and a little external", I cackled. Hilarious! I love all the funny dialogue in this episode! I'm glad Ward is still the bad guy. I don't mind that he's not dead either. Perhaps he can come back and cause more trouble for the team periodically, next season.
Of course, like everyone, I loved that part at the end, after Garret got fixed up with robotics, but was vaporized mid-diabolical-sentence, by Coulson, in a nonchalant manner too. It was another in a series of welcome surprises in this episode.
I really enjoyed this season finale. This was definitely one of my favorite finales this season. It was entertaining, fun, and wholly satisfying. I'm really looking forward to next season.
I get what you're saying and I think it's a legitimate point of view. What annoys me is when people are lenient towards Ward because they're SkyeWard shippers, but feeling this way because they understand how he was affected by the abuse he's suffered is something else.
Personally, the reason I can't feel sorry for him for May's beatdown (as opposed to feeling sorry for him for his family and Garrett's abuse, which I do) is that a lot of people experience what he has, and don't turn out the way he did. They seek help and get better. Some of them even take it upon themselves to save others who are suffering like they once did. There's no denying that Ward has been through horrors I wish upon no one, but in the end, he still had a choice - a tougher one than that of the average person, but a choice nonetheless. And he chose to betray the organization and the team he joined, and murder at least six innocent people. None of the people hurt by Ward are responsible for the horrible things he's endured, and as such, I can't go easy on him for hurting them because of it.
The May/Ward sex was certainly consensual, but we know he did it to throw her off his scent. And when he mocks "the ice queen" for getting her feelings hurt by him, when she's clearly disgusted with herself for having slept with someone who was betraying them all along, it's hard NOT to feel satisfaction when she demolishes him in a fight.
For what it's worth, though, I agree that fracturing his larynx was overkill. There was no need to take away his voice and make him unable to even answer Coulson in that last scene between them. That just seemed like unnecessary cruelty.
Let me first and foremost say how much I appreciate the respectful and openminded tone of your response. It's rare. Thank you.
Now I need to clearly state that I DO NOT want anyone to GO EASY on Ward. That's not the point of my argumentation.
Another thing is - while you see him as having a choice and choosing wrong, I don't see that. I see that he never really had a choice (sufferers of Stochkolm Syndrome don't, but I get it that you may not see him as suffering from that disorder. I do.) I don't really want to get into a discussion about this anymore, because I feel like most of the people who refuse to understand Ward's situation are adamant at proving that me and others who think like me are nazi apologists and rapist sympathizers (not you, you were an exception) and I'm tired of it. So how about we agree to disagree and wait for the second season.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I loved the FitzSimmons scenes. And the dialogue between Coulson and Fury was great.
ReplyDeleteThat was some of the best tv I've ever watched. Awesome job, and I hope they add trip as a main character, I'd like to see some more noise AND funk.
ReplyDeleteany non-spoiler stuff you can share....
ReplyDeleteOh, still shaking. That was a great finale!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing season two will be Ward trying to earn redemption. Love that Fury saved FitzSimmons, and I'm glad no one but Garrett died.
I literally went "awww" out loud when Fury made Coulson director, but whoa at the end. This isn't going to end well.
Really good season finale! Can't wait until Season 2.
ReplyDeleteI would get off here if you don't want to be spoiled….the rain is about to start!
ReplyDeleteIt went better than I expected.
ReplyDeleteFreakin' amazing finale!
ReplyDeleteWoah, that scene with FitzSimmons in the sealed chamber made my heart ache.
ReplyDeleteI didnt like it,Fury (Samuel J) save this shit with his awesomness acting!Dont rage on me,i m huge fan of the show.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED THE WHOLE EPISODE, but Nick and Phil were the best part of the whole episode the way they went in on Garrett. My wish for season 2 add Maria and Trip to the cast
ReplyDeleteI binge-watched it a few weeks ago and I was considering dropping it but I'm glad I didn't.
ReplyDeleteThese last few eps have been amazing!
So happy you have stuck with the show! It's so crazy to think how much the Winter Soldier has completely changed the game for SHIELD. The stakes are higher than they have ever been and it's so awesome to see it unfold.
ReplyDeleteNo raging here! I just would like to know why you didn't like the finale. Was it something the characters did that made you not like it? Or something else entirely?
ReplyDeleteRIP, Garrett. Evil, but so much fun!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so that's what that was at the very end with the drawing stuff. I was kind of lost there and thought maybe it was some tie in to the Marvel universe that I am just unaware of.
ReplyDeleteOMFG that's a finale everything was so damn good.
ReplyDeleteI DIED with laughter when Garrett got all robo'ed and launched into that maniacal diatribe until Coulson shot him and was like "I told you guys this thing still worked!". Classic Coulson, never change (except for being an alien conduit- 'cause that shit is cool).
ReplyDeleteMy fav part Melinda May taking Ward down.
ReplyDeletefantastic finale! sooo many great scenes: Fitz/Simmons, Coulson/Fury dialogue, May "sharing her feelings with Ward", Mike Peterson finally getting rid of his shackles, and Coulson's punchline to Garrett was great... I can't wait to see what next season will bring!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if that's the last we see of Ward.
ReplyDeleteThat ended was epic :)
ReplyDeleteGonna look forward to future marvel movies and Season 2 <3
You mean Billy, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI especially like the Fury Coulson talk when discussing Garrett. Too Funny!
ReplyDeleteThank god for Garrett's death scene. On it's own it was too much of a birth of Darth Vader moment, with Coulson killing him nonchalantly it was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteAoS end with a excellent finale, just terrific, fun and great.
ReplyDeleteExcellent finale. The finale left me worried for Fitz :'( with all the comments like he lives and he will not be the same.
ReplyDeleteQuick question for anyone who pays more attention to this show than me: the thing that Garrett and Coulson were drawing, did that look familiar to anyone else? I swear we've seen it before in a previous episode. Can anyone confirm this?
ReplyDeleteI know the minute I say this, everyone is going to be Googleing it so yeah, here it goes. Did anybody else catch the language Coulson was writing at the end? *Hint!* if you're a comic book fen like me, then you should already have a pretty good idea what it is. 😊❤️
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing! ^_^
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm EXTREMELY worried about Fitz!
Mhmmm. It's in a comic book also. 😊
ReplyDeletewhich comic book I don't read comic
ReplyDeleteanyone want to guess how SHIELD get rebuild?
ReplyDeleteIt's in on of the Thor comics. I believe it's the one that has Amora and Cap in it.
ReplyDeleteI couldnt stop lauging when Garret went all robot and Coulson just destryed him that was too much fun.
ReplyDeleteFtzSimmon, what will eb of Fitz now?
Finally i was starting toa sk when are we gonna get to see Skye and Coulson go all crazy cause of the alien blood.
Seeing Nick Fury at the end just Awesome without his eye thing just sunglasses so cool.
ReplyDeleteOh thank god my darlings FitzSimmons are alive but I am worried about Fitz, just how bad is his condition and how much will this change him? And will Director Coulson now let him have a monkey?
ReplyDeleteFury is the greatest and has no time for Garrett's cloud cuckoo land shit.
ReplyDeleteThere were also awesome moments with Coulson and Fury, but I wasn't afraid of that not happening.
SOoooo good
ReplyDeleteYou know, I totally get what you are saying about the acting.
ReplyDeleteThis totally seemed liked something one of the movies would do. It was great. For a minute I was scared that he would continue live on to be a mustache-twirling villain. Always been a Bill Paxton fan, but the character was close to being played out.
ReplyDeleteso I guessing since the team save the day killing Garett and all they did not get arrested.......I guess there was some agreement behind the scene for team coulson to be allow to leave freely?
ReplyDeleteThe part where Coulson disintegrates Garrett? Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy is new Koenig saying the same things. I wish Ward kills him too... lol jk but really what he be, he didn't say he was a twin right.
ReplyDeleteGreat Finale, It will keep me going tru the summer, + help from summer shows.
Any guess about Skye's dad? and the languaje DIrector Coulson and Garret were writting?
ReplyDeleteI don´t think Garrett have died, he could come back somehow or that is what I hope.
ReplyDeleteThis was, hands down, my favorite season finale so far (still have a couple to go, but at this point it is definitely going to be in the top 3). Pure awesomeness from start to finish. I can't wait to see where they go from here. :)
ReplyDeleteif you watch arrow it might top this one
ReplyDeletethis is marvel no one dies in the MCU I know he was blown up but somehow he could return
ReplyDeleteNope, I just have Criminal Minds and The Mentalist left to watch.
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode.
ReplyDeleteI love Coulson expression when Fury tells him he's an Avenger! "I'm an Avenger? Cool, I'm like Steve Rogers and Stark!"
Awesome finale. And so it begins the story of Skye.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't give it "Awesome" but I gave it great. There were a couple things which felt like rehash from Buffy/Angel/Cabin in the Woods, which is what deducted points for me. The opening felt like it could have come from Cabin, Fitz and Simmons felt like trapped Angel, and Coulson's ending made me think "Will he open up a portal next?"
ReplyDeleteStill it was quite enjoyable, and I laughed when Garrett died for real.
I knew they would be the foundation for a new Shield. Some think Steve would be upset, but I don't. He wasn't opposed to the idea of Shield, but how Shield did it. He would trust Coulson, too.
There's a "epic" option missing for this finale I think ^^
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see Fury, and the return of Patton Oswalt was really funny !
I have no idea what his name is…lol
ReplyDeleteMy god that was awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhere to start?
ReplyDeleteWell I am amazed. A season finale that DID NOT dissapoint. This
ReplyDeleteepisode rocked on so many levels. Now I am a MAJOR Coulson girl and Phil
was awesome in this ep...but then I am biased..*g*. I loved his whole
"I found it scene"
I will admit I am SO not into the whole
shipping thing of Ward/Skye or of Fitz/Simmons in previous eps the soapy
elements have bugged me. But this episode handled every element
perfectly even the scene with Fitz and Simmons. It was pitched just
right.
And being a massive Samuel L Jackson fan I am so pleased
he wasnt just in the ep for a quick cameo, Coulson and Fury facing off
against Garret was brilliant. And the scene where Fury is handing
everything over to Coulson was awesome. He and Coulson were great
together.
And lets not forget May beating the shit out of Ward :) And Garrett was just creepy as hell.
Bit worried about my boy at the end of the ep though, bit creepy him writting on the wall.
All in all best season finale ever.
By far the best episode of the season. A lot of Sam Jackson would've done that alone for me, but the Garrett deathscene (final one) was just too good, and some great Patton Oswalt to top it off with.
ReplyDeleteBilly could be his twin (Eric mentioned how he plays Call of Duty with his brother) but many are speculating he is a Life Model Decoy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Model_Decoy . I think he could be one but doesn't realise it (he thinks he is Eric's brother), and that there are Kroenig models in all of Fury's secret bases.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteExcept Gwen Stacy.
ReplyDelete"I'm unstoppable now! That's why they say to cut off the head..." SPLAT "Found it." :)
ReplyDeleteThanks that's what I though too, a Kroening in every base because he said the exact same thing than Eric. I hope we will learn a little more about them in the next season!
ReplyDeleteYeah it was the exact words which made me think he isn't just a regular brother. I can't wait to find out more as well!
ReplyDeleteWhat I would like them to do with AoS in S2: have a few sub-plots which connect to the film universe more, where there are multiple threats they have to deal with while rebuilding. Someone who should be brought into it, for example, is the real Mandarin. He would fit with what they have established.
ReplyDeleteGwen returns, too... you missed it...
ReplyDeleteHe reminded me of Zathras in Babylon 5.
ReplyDeleteA Gwen clone returned, not Gwen.?
ReplyDeleteme too .. only Fitz-Simmons scenes, and knowing about Skye.. thats all...
ReplyDeletebut mostly i didnt like it cuz Ward didnt turn sides !!
ReplyDelete"Awesome" isn't even a word. Incredible, very satisfying finale on all counts. Love this show to bits. It's going to be one long-ass summer!
ReplyDeletehe became more crazy than before.......I could see HYDRA get rid of him if Coulson did not because Garrett is not reliable anymore!
ReplyDeleteActually Garrett is officially dead, if you watch the last scene Coulson began to draw that think we now know the he is totally one 100% dead. And here is why. That connection that Garrett had was brought by the serum and when he died that connection was severed and if he could have been brought back then that connection would not be moved now to Coulson.
ReplyDeleteu honestly thought he would turn sides after everything he has done the only person who thought he could still be a good guy was fitz and look wat ward did to fitzsimmons we dont even know that damage tha has been caused to fitz and the rest of the team hates his guts so even if he did something good in the episode it still would of ended the same for ward and the only way they will ever team with ward again is i they have no choice and still they would hate him
ReplyDeleteI thought this episode was great. And i certainly enjoy it a lot. But "best season finale ever", i don't know, i'll have to think on that. I was great, but it has a lot of serious competition. In no particular order (contains massive spoilers):
ReplyDeleteBuffy the Vampire Slayer- Season 3 Finale "Graduation Day part 2": The Mayor's ascension, blowing up the school.
Lost- Season 1 Finale "Exodus": The raft is attacked. Jack, Locke, Kate & Hurly blow the lid off the hatch; and we get our first peek.
Could you see if skye's father had blood coming uit of his skin or that he had ''someone's'' blood dripping from his hands?
ReplyDeleteCould you see if skye's father had blood coming uit of his skin or that he had ''someone's'' blood dripping from his hands?
ReplyDeletei was tinking the same thing about seeing the writhing trigering something but about koening i like him sort of back
When Garret got that suite I was thinking that makes him the real Deathlock and now mike does not have to be evil anymore but then while writhing this I read on wiki that Deathlock is not a villan so... now i'm just happy with the funny moment of Coulsen ending Garret.
ReplyDeletewith Skye's father, I don't want to label him Alien, or a true monster just yet, because I don't know how far this show is willing to go in the supernatural/sci fi directions. so I think that even he is human he can be capable of being monster.
ReplyDeleteBut once BluRay comes out 1080p gonna re watch for more details.
That was fantastic! Season 2 can not come soon enough! This is my favorite new show! :D
ReplyDeleteSince Coulson is now the director of SHIELD, he will probably apear on The Avengers 2. Hopefully he will take the team on a small mission on the movie. That would be so cool; and that would be lot of promotion for the show too.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was blood coming out of his own skin rather but its a bit hard to tell.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably the only one, but I seriously HATED the May/Ward fight scene. I mean I get it that she's pissed. I understand her motivation. And he was an awful humanbeing in this episode (I mean the things he said to Skye and May were cringeworthy) and maybe he deserved it, I don't know. Although, does anyone?
ReplyDeleteI also know that neither May, nor Skye, and not even Coulson know the full extent of what was done to Ward, but...
ReplyDeleteI didnt like Lost at all, dont watch Walking Dead, didnt watch Breaking Bad, watched one season of Dexter.
ReplyDeleteTell me about it I went on a bit of a binge that day watching anything I could get my hands on I even rewatched sherlock. But the Agents one was the best therapy. Because I had expected them to whimp out on a couple of things and they didnt I think thats why I enjoyed it so much the fact that it surpassed my expectations. Plus Coulson and Fury were awesome. *Sorry a bit biased there*
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy Sherlock I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes for years, and specifically Jeremy Bretts Sherlock Holmes and thought nothing could ever change that.
No that was Zaaathras, i'm Zathras. It's all in the pronunciation. :)
ReplyDeletethat's what i tought but i was wondering if i was seeing that because i wanted to see something super/alien/mutant...
ReplyDeleteEntertaining finale! Lots of fun. I loved all the action, humor, and team interactions.
ReplyDeleteI liked all the Nick Fury scenes, especially the ones with Coulson and Garrett.
ReplyDeletePersonally, the reason I can't feel sorry for him for May's beatdown (as opposed to feeling sorry for him for his family and Garrett's abuse, which I do) is that a lot of people experience what he has, and don't turn out the way he did.
It's rare. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteNow I need to clearly state that I DO NOT want anyone to GO EASY on Ward.
