A very good series that's put a "Dark Comedy" twist on a genre that's about ready to go back on the shelf for awhile (No Spoilers). I wonder if the "Political - Social" undertone (bigotry, indifference, and intolerance) may be to much for the "Target Audience" of this series? I watched the first season last month and have been watching ever since! 4 A B.D.F.F. OF MY VERY OWN, I am Nobody!!!
Simon is a sly one, playing with Amy and now Kieren's heart like that, what a rotter in more ways than one! I'm assuming that Kieren is going to be the first risen, which makes him a lot more important than anyone ever realised, I wonder how he triggered the whole thing in the first place...and does that mean Rik (and Bill) will rise again if the Second Rising does happen.
* I liked how Jem used the same towel that her brother put on the mirror in the bathroom the following morning after her nightmares, nice continuity. * Is Simon poisoning/doping Amy for some reason rather her becoming immune?
I really love how this show deals with depression and mental illness. You have Jem and her PTSD which is handled so well in this episode and I just feel so terrible for her. Then you have Kieren and the reason he dead in the first place and how trapped he feels. Its a terrible thing how messed up everyone is.
The show handles mental illness, and metaphors for mental illness, very well doesn't it. The threat of the treatment centre in Norfolk seems to hanging over the PDS sufferers in the same way being sectioned does, it's probably a bad of me but I'm kind of hoping that someone does get sent back there so we get to see it again, as they've mentioned it I'm assuming it will be brought up again later on now.
Hmmm, I wonder if that part of the Undead Prophet's plan, to get some PDS sent back there in order to achieve something? I don't trust this homemade Neurotriptyline they have been using if I'm honest, it could well have some small amount of Blue Oblivion in, or another drug that could effect them.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteHmm yeah I wouldn't be surprised if someone does get sent there, maybe Amy as she isn't doing well lately.

ReplyDeleteOh I don't trust the homemade stuff either and I think maybe Simon has deliberately messed with Amy's supply of it.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea that the Prophet wants people to go to the centre...hmmm so many mysteries!
