That was the perfect exit for Sandra/Cristina. I'm definitely going to miss her. And I loved Cristina and Meredith dancing it out. That was cute.
Aw at Cristina giving Bailey and Alex places on the board.
WHOA. WHAT THE HELL AT THE END. I saw the twist coming that she was Webber's daughter a few minutes before it happened, but I didn't even think to make the Ellis connection until a few seconds before he did. Damn, Meredith's got secret half-siblings everywhere. I'm still pissed we haven't seen Molly in years, though, especially after Lexie died.
HAHAHA! I was just thinking about Molly... you'd think Meredith has issues with her, the way she's rarely mentioned. But yeah, that was a solid finale and fantastic sendoff for Sandra/Cristina, IMO.
1st off Sandra Oh will be missed. this was her season. 2nd Ellis AINT NO GOOD. She was barely a mother to Mer and got read of Webbers baby.. smh What a great season finale… farewell Cristina :(
I loved Alex-Cristina and Mer-Cristina moments, but Im sorry- for a moment I thought Cristina come back to say goodbye to Owen, definitly not what I was expecting for Crowen final scene. However, the wedding photo at Cristina´s new office got me confused..
Holy crap, where are the tissues?!?! What a beautiful send off for one of the most beloved charcters ever. Goodbye Cristina Yang. You'll be missed dearly.
Cristina saying goodbye to everyone in the hospital was amazing and her dancing it out with Meredith one final time was the icing on the cake. I'll miss their friendship so damn much. Also, I loved when Cristina said to Meredith that Derek is not the sun, Meredith is.
I was not expecting that twist of there being another Grey! And she's Webber's daughter! My jaw dropped.
And holy shit at Cristina leaving Alex her shares of the hospital and her spot on the board! That was so generous and I praise her for that.
I'm wondering if there is going to be a bit of a fight between Bailey and Alex about the seat. Alex now owns part of the hospital, so should be on the board. So why would they need Bailey as well?
The dance off made me mad that they are not cancelling the show... Can't imagine the she without Yang, I'm literally crying thinking about it... I get shows evolve but after listening to the music fr the DO.. It seriously brought back the old greys in my mind and how only Mer and Alex are left... Not sure I can watch next season... Will watch the first few episodes but it will be like seeing your ex kiss their new GF - awkward and painful.
The episode was great but there were some issues. ~Bailey is happy about almost getting a seat at the board but Cristina left her seat and share to Alex? This is not going to end well. ~Another Grey-sibling, you've gotta be kidding me with this. ~Derek and Mer fighting, ugh.
So I assume Dr. Pierce will definitely will be a regular in season 11 and hopefully Amelia will be too.
Oh man, what a beautiful way to send of a beloved charcter, I'm glad there wasn't any major deaths. Owen and Chrsitina, so heartbreaking :(
Awesome Christina quotes, she'll be missed. Some of her awesomeness in the finale: I gotta go. You stay here. You are a gifted surgeon with an extraordinary mind. Don’t let what he wants eclipse what you need. He’s very dreamy, but he’s not the sun. You are.
Don’t let Owen get all dark and twisty. Take care of him. And Alex, take care of Alex. He needs to be mocked at least once a day or he’ll be insufferable.
I thought the negative reaction to Jackson might be the love child of Ellis and Richard would teach the writers that that storyline wasn't going to work. Guess it didn't.
At first I thought it would Jackson's half sister but then I wondered, "Why would Richard care so muc- Ohhhhhh. It's Ellis." I think I would rather have her as Jackson's half sister than Meredith. She has had too many sisters running around the hospital already. Lol.
Cristina's sendoff was near perfect. It was always going to be MerCris friendship front and centre in this ep but as a Crowen shipper, I was a little disappointed there wasn't a hug or a kiss between the two before she left. I guess him in the OR and her up in the gallery pretty much summed up their relationship - they were never going to be in the same place no matter how much they love each other.
Also, ewww to Ross following Cristina. I don't know why but I wanted him to be fired. Or dead in that explosion.
I almost got teary-eyed this episode, Cristina is really gone, gods. I loved how she and Mer danced it out. And then the reveal at the end - Mer has yet another half-sister! I wonder how that worked out, exactly. How did Mer not know her mother was pregnant?
I ADORED Cristina's exit, and Cristina's storyline. That was incredible, and so well done - the nostalgic music, dancing it out, Meredith/Cristina goodbye, the things she said to Alex, hugging Derek. All perfect (though I wish she'd had a better goodbye from Owen.) BUT, other things annoyed me to no end. I'm a bitter Lexie fan, I know it, I can't help it, but I can't help but feel the revelation of the Ellis/Richard love child was very very reminiscent of how they brought Lexie in, in a surprise right at the end of the season. In my mind it diminishes her presence and importance as Meredith's sister by giving her another one to get to know (I know she had Molly, but neither her or Lexie seemed to care). Also how did Richard & Thatcher not realise Ellis was pregnant? I feel like it would be way more interesting if this 'sister' was not in fact a sister but someone trying to get money out of them or something. Who knows? But it made me angry at upset. And then secondly, the Meredith/Derek fight. Of course I knew it was coming, or something of the sort - but still, the things he said felt very out of character. Yes, Derek has a massive ego, yes he tends to lash out and act spitefully when it an argument, but he's not wholly selfish - he puts his family and Meredith before his work, and that's what he's always done so suggesting otherwise was ridiculous. I'm disappointed with that. (And on a side note, have Amelia and James actually broken up? Because honestly I'll be so upset about that too, I loved them on Private Practice and I was so pleased she'd finally gotten her happy ending, but as per usual those story lines don't matter for the sake of bringing her onto Grey's.)
Totally agreed!!! It feels like they were searching for a way to include a new cardio surgeon (because they can't have a hospital without one) and then one of them went: "hey! remember a while back, there was this theory about ellis and richard having a love child. Why don't we bring that back! Plus, meredith will still have a sister after losing her half sister and her twisted sister." I would rather have Mer bonding with Amelia (still hoping that she will be there next season). Waiting to see where they are going with that!
So glad Cristina gave her shares to Alex (I knew it!). I don't think there will be a fight with Bailey. Webber said he will suggest her name to the board, not that she had the seat. And since Alex is now co-owner, the seat is his, unless he doesn't want it. I hate what they have done to Bailey character, even if she was a board member, that doesn't mean she could keep her lab. She used to be The Nazi, now she is a spoiled whining brat.
The surrogate mom storyline was kind of obvious but it's a good (and new) one. And, I loved that April/Jackson scene, so sweet.
Anyway, Cristina's send off was amazing, perfect way to end her character storyline! So many great lines and a beautiful dance party!
I think that Cristina didn't mention to Webber that she was giving her seat to Alex because it was a last minute decision. Webber just assumed with Avery that there would be a vacant seat on the board and that they could do with it what they want.
Amazing, beautiful. heartbreaking. Loved how everything turned out, everything was wonderfully wrote and acted. Loved that Shane left with Christina, loved that Webber has a daughter, loved April and Jackson, loved that Alex is going to keep up surgery work with a seat on the board and loved that Christina told Meredith she's the sun, can't wait to see what she'll do medicine-wise next season.
Here: http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/04/greys-anatomy-episode-1022-we-are-never_25.html#comment-1355300200 I called it!!! Totally saw Alex getting Christina's shares and seat on the board!!! May I have a seat in the write's room now???
That was exactly the moment in my case too! And when Tegan & Sata started playing in the background I let it all out. Daaamn you, Shonda, you wicked woman'
Just like every Grey¡s season finaleBRILLIANT! I cried, i laugh, i got exited it was the perfect way to say goodbye... and of course leaving more drama for that new season! Bailey vs Alex and Webber's daughther i didnt see that one coming!
I agree, and I have a little hope that Cristina could come back for the final episode of Grey´s and end up with the love of her life, Owen :) (since they let an open door).
I thought the same thing about Shane's "can I come too" thing. I figured that's what they were going to do, to get rid of his character, but I think it's stupid. I was even more annoyed that Cristina's last scene on the show, was with Shane, of all people. I would've rather seen a shot of Cristina and Meredith talking on the phone with each other, before Cristina goes to her meeting or whatever.
I like Cristina's last couple finale episodes. Good sendoff. I love the departing humourous, yet true, wisdom she gave to everyone. I'll miss those Cristina comments, and how the actress delivers those lines, the most. Love her dancing it out with Meredith. I almost wish that was the last scene of the show.
Shane - I don't like that Shane got to follow Cristina. I find him insufferable. His scenes with Robbins and Alex made me annoyed with him even more. I figured that's what they were going to do, to get rid of his character (once I read the news that he's not returning as a regular), but I think it's stupid. I was even more annoyed that Cristina's last scene on the show, was with Shane, of all people. I would've rather seen a shot of Cristina and Meredith talking on the phone with each other, before Cristina goes to her meeting or whatever.
Leah - It was very responsible of her to come back to the hospital, even after getting essentially fired, to help out in a crisis. I think Leah should choose to go into Emergency Med. She's quick with diagnosis (more clever than Shane at the actual medicine), and also knows quick fixes in an emergency.
Bailey & Alex - Not cool that Bailey, who rightfully should be on the board, will now have her hopes dashed, and be screwed over with losing her genome lab too. You can't have an election for an empty seat, when the hospital shares pretty much guarantee Alex a seat on the board. It's great for Alex that Cristina was so generous, but still, poor Bailey.
Another Grey sibling - I'm not sure I like this soapy twist. I hope it'll end up being good drama for next season. Still, I'm not going to get too attached to her. All of Meredith's sorta family that's ever tried to get to know her, for an extended amount of time, has died. I don't give this girl much of a chance to live beyond that 2-year extension to Pompeo's contract.
Amelia - I've liked her since Private Practice, and have been liking her with her short appearances so far on Grey's. Hoping she'll be a regular next season.
Yeah, But wasn't Meredith five then? This new half-sister has to be about six years younger. That should put her in Residency, not at the Head of Cardio!
IDK- If we assume she's been done with her fellowship for at least three years,( That's reasonable, even for a prodigy), that leaves 8-9 years to account for: She's 6 years younger, is two-three years ahead of her older sister.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
OMG there is another Grey! I loved them dancing it out!!
ReplyDeleteI think I just a shark.
ReplyDeleteThat was the perfect exit for Sandra/Cristina. I'm definitely going to miss her. And I loved Cristina and Meredith dancing it out. That was cute.

ReplyDeleteOMG we all got Shonda Rhime'd at the end! I loved it when Christina and Meredith danced it out. So glad nobody died.
ReplyDeleteLove and tears! The music has been spot on this season!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, where are the tissues?!?! What a beautiful send off for one of the most beloved charcters ever. Goodbye Cristina Yang. You'll be missed dearly.

Overall, an awesome finale.

ReplyDeleteIf Caterina Scorsone isn't sticking around I'll eat my hat, Meredith needs a new bestie.
ReplyDeleteThe dance off made me mad that they are not cancelling the show... Can't imagine the she without Yang, I'm literally crying thinking about it... ReplyDeleteWhen Tegan and Sara came on I cried a little.
ReplyDeleteAnother half-sibling of Grey's? I'm out.
ReplyDeleteDancing it out to Where Does The Good Go? I'm DEAD. DONE. So perfect. #TwistedSisters
ReplyDeleteThe episode was great but there were some issues. ~Bailey is happy about almost getting a seat at the board but Cristina left her seat and share to Alex? This is not going to end well.

i cant wait for Meredith to find out she has another half=sister and that Webber is the father
ReplyDeleteI think I've lost the count of the times I've cried during this episode. Farewell Cristina!
ReplyDeleteIt was really beautiful! I'm gona miss her as hell but it was the best way to say goodbye to her!
ReplyDeleteThat might put a strain on the Webber/Mer father-daughter relation.
ReplyDeleteI thought the negative reaction to Jackson might be the love child of Ellis and Richard would teach the writers that that storyline wasn't going to work. Guess it didn't.

ReplyDeleteAgreed about Ross.
ReplyDeleteFarewell Cristina Yang u will be missed....... it was a beautiful exit for her....Another Grey......how is webber going to deal?....
ReplyDeleteMaggie Pierce was once daughter of the hospital chief in Emily Owens MD, and now she's Webber's secret daughter. Funny coincidence.
ReplyDeleteShe's still Meredith's sister
ReplyDeleteI think that Cristina didn't mention to Webber that she was giving her seat to Alex because it was a last minute decision. Webber just assumed with Avery that there would be a vacant seat on the board and that they could do with it what they want.
ReplyDeleteI think the wedding photo of Crowen is just a token of memory, implying that Owen will always have a place in her heart.
ReplyDeleteThe first moment that got me crying was Cristina saying goodbye to Derek. It's been a tearfest from that moment on for me.
ReplyDeleteThis was probably after her split with Tatcher and after Richard chose Adele
ReplyDeleteAmazing, beautiful. heartbreaking. Loved how everything turned out, everything was wonderfully wrote and acted.
