I thought it was cute. Only certain parts. But as far as Glee finales go this was definitely the worst one. But let's see. I liked Mercedes performance, couldn't help but cheer for her, and I loved that Brittany was her backup dancer. That writer was GOD AWFUL, and I was cracking up through that entire sequence. Of it just making no sense. But I loved the Rachel/Kurt bath scene.
I knew Sam wouldn't cheat on Mercedes. And I'm glad Mercedes clarified that Sam, did NOT cheat over some measley reaction kiss. Now if he would've slept with the photographer or did a lot more fourplay then they definitely would've had a problem. That would definitely be cheating. Glad to know Mercedes is open minded and mellow about the small stuff. I couldn't get teared up over their breakup though, b/c I just felt it was the right thing to do and I can't believe Sam wants to go back home. Well DID go back home. And when he looked into the Glee room, and we saw all the computers that made me sad.
TEAM KLAINE FTW!! I love them, they're my OTP. I love them so much, they've come so far. And I enjoyed their duet. Didn't care for most of the songs tonight and I definitely didn't care for the last scene. But I enjoyed Rachel spreading the news to Kurt and Blaine. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love when Rachel's happy. I mean really happy. B/c her happiness and laugh are so infectious, you really can't help but be happy for her. And I smile every time. But don't get me wrong she's a real pain in the ass. Lol but I did enjoy her Staring at the Camera at us. B/c in the entire 5 yr run, not one cast member has done that.
It can happen. If she had idolized the Broadway-life and then found out that it's more demanding than she ever imagined. And she'd definitely make more money and become more famous by starring in a tv-show, if it's picked up and airs for at least a couple of seasons.
Ok, so, first things first: how on earth are they going to make S6 work? Rachel will be in LA, half the cast is in NYC and the other half back will be back home. How will Mr. Schue and Sue fit in? o.O But now to the episode itself. Overall, I think it works. As far as Glee can work, obviously. But the truth is they should next season would be about wrapping up storylines as fast as possible. Glee had a good run, it was the first successful musical TV show in god knows how long. But it's time to put Rachel Berry to rest. There is absolutely no story left to tell.
It would fit Rachels personality to run away when things get difficult - She never had really difficult things to handle in her spoiled, rich, small town life and now things get difficult (she realizes that broadway has a smaller community and not everyone likes her and her crappy attitude, she has to do 8 shows a week, which she mentioned is very taxing and can be combined with other projects) - So she thinks, because she is already the big broadway star, now she can to whatever she wants, like letting the show down by going to a casting in LA and in a very childish way pretending to be sick - I don´t think she learned anything from the talk she had with her boss (forgot his name), because she didn´t really suffer consequences there. So now she wants to be a bigger star and the only way in our modern world is TV and movies - So she screws over everybody and goes for that - It is a classic Rachel Berry (Lea Michele?) move.
The thing with TV shows set in and around high school is that at some point you need to LET GO AND MOVE ON. I've never seen a show trying so desperately hard to keep high school part of the show.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThey talked about doing a time jump for season 6, so maybe all characters are back in NY by then.
