the end when Sheldon left was sad I hope he is going to be ok out there. did not see the comic book store burning coming that was really sad that's there 2nd home.
Loved the finale, it was a good wrap up for a very solid season. It hasn't been the best season, but it sured made a lot of progression with its characters and that's a really good thing. I expect Sheldon to return and be somewhat the same as he always have, but I'm sure the writers will find a way to add some changes there and there.
The tricky thing with breakout characters like Sheldon Cooper is that a good chunk of the audience want them to stay the same, so growth is very difficult to deal with; the writers want to keep Sheldon as the breakout character he is, but at the same time they have to work around the character to add some hints about his personal growth. It must be a really hard work to do, but I think they mostly get it right, so let's see what they do in season 8!
The big question is... Will Sheldon be the same when he returns?... A bittersweet finale, the comic book store destroyed was a hard blow for Sheldon and for all, they all spent a lot time there. Raj and the gang happy cause he had sex, that was too funny. A prety solid season witha great argument for season 8.
So Sheldon shall finally take the leap to adulthood, huh. It's a good step forward for Sheldon Copper's character to something more than he's really shown since the start of this series. To me, it has gotten old and tiring, so something new and fresh from Sheldon can be truly welcoming; if the show decides to go that path, at least they've shown it as they're willing too.
I'm okay with Sheldon going away on his own as long as the writers take that as an opportunity to write some much needed character growth for the guy. Look how far Leonard, Howard, and especially Raj has come over the seasons. It's Sheldon's time to do the same.
Prediction: Next season will start with a time jump. Sheldon will return from spending a couple of years on a deserted Island and will have a secret identity, which he uses to fight crime at night. Uh, wait...nah, I guess that's already been done too often :)
Didn't expect to see Sheldon leave. Altogether I liked the episode. They obviously won't change Sheldon in any significant way, so I'm curious to see what happens to Sheldon on the road.
Also, I thought the comic book store scene with Sheldon and Stuart and the train station scene with the three of them was really good.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteIt was more of a sad finale than a funny one. But this was still a great finale to watch. I can't wait for Season 8!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing Stuart so happy taking care of Deborah...him skipping away was hilarious!

ReplyDeleteI'm so sad now that I have 4 whole months of no TBBT. My life is empty.
ReplyDeleteInteresting episode. I would like to see where the next season would start.
ReplyDeletePoor Amy looked so out of place the entire episode.
