  1. I have no words...okay I really do. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  2. I'm literally out of words for this episode except that it was FANTASTIC! Every little second of it was EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. okay episode, definitely more of a slow burn compared to other episodes. But still fun.

    ReplyDelete
  4. This felt like the first part of a 2-parter so I can forgive the slowness of the episode. Given the craziness of last week, it stands to reason we all needed to take a breath. So, now we have. Bring on the crazy!
    Excellent one-liners tonight. Nicely done.

  5. technically first of a 3-parter.

  6. I didn't want to assume anything…lol

  7. I really like this show, this episode seems necessary to put all the characters in action, I agree for the slow burn. Diggle face with Isabel was just priceless...
I think Felicity will get the cure and be back with Flash.
    Cain't wait for next week.
My negative point goes to Laurel, I just hated the line "Too many of them , we can't fight" after her speech to Oliver to continue to fight.

    ReplyDelete
  8. well they did say the last 2 episodes pretty much happens in real-time, and the last 4 episodes of the season could each serve as a season finale.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I doubt that she'll be back with the Flash, they need to wait until next season to wrap that up

  10. "THIS STARTED WITH THE THREE OF US...IT'S TIME WE GET BACK TO THAT" OH IN YOUR FACE!!!

This episode was badass!! And Holy shit there's TWO episodes left!! As i was watching this i forgot about that and thought damn next week is the finale, but noooo, there's TWO!! My god this is intense!! Ok here we go....

Oliver....I felt sooo bad for him. I seriously wanted to cry for him, surprisingly i didn't shed a tear though. My eyes got a little watery but they didn't fill. But seriously, i forgot out his leg for a minute, which made me even more sad for him. But he totally kicked ass at the end!! And i loveddd it!! Him finding out about Sebastian then going straight to Sebastian! Woo boy!! "May i join you for dinner." I felt the..I'm gonna "F*** you up"....in that sentence, and Ollie's death stare just made it more intense. Geez, I was so hoping he'd throw that knife right in Blood's chest! Lucky bastard in a restaurant. He'll get his. But i love when Ollie said, "Because i'm the Arrow." There was something so sexy about that.

DIGLICITY!!! I LOVEEE THEM!! That interrogation scene was awesome!! They were so badass. Especially Felicity..."BITCH WITH WI-FI"!! LOL (I swear i'm going to say that all week). And i loved when Diggle went to Waller. That was pretty good. Liked the reveal of Ollie's other lair!! Squee!

Laurel....Ok glad all that truth is out in the open. But was i the ONLY one who found that entire scene with her giving Ollie "the speech" laughable?? I'm sorry, i just couldn't take her seriously. Then as she looked at the glass case and said something about "we need the Arrow" It just really bugged me. I found it really annoying, and then when she said "But not them?" I said Ewww, shut up!! Don't try to interfere with Team Arrow. And i didn't like her "saving Ollie's life" b/c in that moment all i thought about was my god she is stubborn! I'm sorry but i still want her dead. But i guess now would be an inappropriate time since Ollie has already lost 3 people. Guess i have to put up with her next season.

Speaking of people i want dead...Diggle kick her ass!! Take her sword and shove it!! TBH, i REALLY wanted to see that fight! As for Quentin, when that Slade groupie got out of his seat and went for Quentin, i literally yelled QUENTIN!! I don't want him dead.

This episode was amazing. But i think my favorite part was when Oliver and Thea talked. That was so touching. (THAT'S the part i watered up at, i remember now as i'm typing it). And when Thea turned off the lights in the Queen Mansion. I felt so bad for her. (even though it was kinda her fault b/c she didn't sign the papers). And i felt bad for Ollie, hell even Walter. It just felt so cold and depressing with all that empty space and the lights off. Sigh.

I have to mention my Olicity moment of course. We haven't had a lot of them in recent time, so when they come around i notice. I just want to mention when he slowly released his hand from her grasp. (swoon) That's it. I'm glad she's safe in that van...for now. And Cisco's call hmmm do i smell cure?? Or maybe a call about Barry?? (They sure are mentioning him a lot, prepping us for the Flash, i like it). Can't wait for next week!!! The promo looks epic!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Laurel didn't learn anything from Tommy's death. After repeatedly being told to stay out of the Glades, and her not listening resulting in Tommy's death, you would think that when Oliver tells her to stay out of they way she would freaking listen.

Not to mention she called Oliver by name in front of all of those thugs. He's in disguise for a reason you stupid fool.

Then she goes and tells Oliver "There's too many! We can't fight them all!" First of all, what do you mean "we"? And secondly, you just talked him out of suicide by saying he never stops fighting and never gives up. What the hell, Laurel.

Did anyone get how she connected the dots from Moira's death to Sebastian? Just because he's the new Mayor? That's it? Whatever. That was just poorly handled and seems like they just wanted Laurel in on the action so immediately had her go back to investigating Blood. She was right of course, but the the way they had her hone in on Blood was very poor writing in my opinion.

Laurel wanting to be Oliver's eyes and ears? Nope, you will not infringe on Felicity's role on Team Arrow. You. Will. Not.

Judging by the promo for next week she will be competently using the bow & arrow. Oh joy.

Laurel just doesn't work on this show. And looking at reactions on twitter it seems the majority feel this way. Please, writers. Just kill her and put her out of my misery.

Everything else about this episode was awesome. Lots of Team Arrow tonight, and the Diggle/Felicity scenes were great. Always nice to see Quentin, no Roy, Walter was great, and poor Thea just can't catch a break.

The best line of the episode went to Felicity: "I don't know why I'm crying. I didn't even like Moira." LOL

    ReplyDelete
  12. This episode was basically the calm before the storm and dealt with the fallout from last week's episode but there was still some excellent scenes like Isabel as The Ravager attacking Diggle, Oliver telling Sebastian that he's The Arrow at the restaurant, Laurel knocking out the Mirakuru-powered guard, and Slade's army walking out on the streets ready to cause some major chaos.

Also loved the scenes where they were at ARGUS and Felicity freaks out about the computers and the interrogation with Sebastian's bodyguard. Leave it to Felicity to take your mind off of a heartbreaking episode and still manage to squeeze in some hilarious sly comments.

Overall, a great set up for what is sure to be a hell of a ride in the final 2 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  13. this is funny. the girl is your lead, Katie/Laurel that is but you are upset with the show for showing viewers that this reminds me of those who hated Dan Humphrey but still watched GosGirl. LOL In any case loved the episode and it was great to see Laurel finally be a part of the team.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah, was just hoping to see again Barry ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Lets be honest here. Laurel hasn't been the lead since the middle of season 1. Then Felicity was introduced and became the defacto female lead. In season 2 we Sara was introduced and has also become a lead on screen(despite being credited as a guest star) and Laurel has further spiraled into irrelevancy.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Laurel didn't knock anyone out, she hit him with a pipe, he turned around and she dropped the pipe, backed into a corner looking scared. Oliver took the guy out with an exploding Arrow

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oops, my bad. She STRIKED him with the pipe. Better?

    ReplyDelete
  18. that's not the point. she is your lead, look at your credits. it doesn't matter that you hate/dislike her she is the female lead on this show. Felicity is a regular and Sara was a guest star and I have no problem with either but that doesn't change who Katie Cassidy is and who Laurel Lance is when it comes to this show.

    ReplyDelete
  19. And yet in the posters she's aaalllll the way at the back? I feel like the EPs are really confused when it comes to who the leading lady is... No scratch that. Why in the world can't there be 2 leading ladies? Felicity is integral to team arrow. Laurel has her own thing going on. So why is it that only one of them can be the leading lady? Also is it just me or did anyone else not like Laurel being in the foundry? She just felt so out of place there :p

    ReplyDelete
  20. Just because the credits say she is the lead doesn't mean the show has presented her as one. She had been marginalized from the middle of season 1 to the middle of season 2.

You can't just suddenly throw her back in as the female lead as if nothing has happened. Story wise, it just doesn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sorry I dont mean to be nitpick but the guy was a Mirakuru soldier

    ReplyDelete
  22. Cracking the F up!

    ReplyDelete
  23. It's alright and yeah I just rewatched that scene and you're right, she did only hit him. My mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think she meant STFU. But honestly, Laurel knocking out a Mirakuru soldier with a pipe is almost as laughable as Lance still not knowing Oliver is the Arrow :p COME ON LANCE. YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT. I BELIEVE IN YOU.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ah, learn something new every day.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Nah, Shannon is super nice she donset go off unless you deserve it.

I'm going with Lance knows he just doesn't want to KNOW.

    ReplyDelete
  27. My bad :p I didn't even know that acronym existed!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oliver has exploding arrows but he decided to try to tie the guy up first so he could get in some hand-to-hand with the super soldier. Ugh. I totally called them setting it up so Laurel had to save him and look valuable. This whole episode was "Look, Laurel ISN'T totally useless!"

    ReplyDelete
  29. Basically this is what Isabel said to Digg: My name is Isabel Rochev. You killed me. Now prepare to die.

    ReplyDelete
  30. "Bitch with Wi-Fi" I just cant LMAO
"This started with teh three of us, it's time we get back to that" Great quotes on this episode.
Amazing episode to set up thing for the two final ones.. damn !

  31. LOL, it's cool, no worries.

I loved Thea's reaction to Slades guy making himself known. She's like are you freaking kidding me!

They just need to lock Thea up somewhere because the world seems intent on hurting her.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I have this weird love-hate relationship with Laurel. One episode I absolutely despise her "Time of Death" and one episode I love her "The Man Under the Hood". At this point, I'm getting sick of the back and forth and agree with the commenter above me saying that they should just kill her and take her out of our misery.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Lance doesn't want to try and figure it out, hence his whole speech to Laurel a few episodes back...sure he can, but he doesn't want to so he's not going to try to

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love you David. EVERYTHING you said was on point. I'm glad it was you and not me so I don't have to receive the hate lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. I had problems with this episode, actually with the last few episodes but I'm just going to tackle one thing right now. The logic fail that is both Oliver Queen and this whole dying plot. So Oliver believes that Slade wants to kill him and apparently that will end everything. But it won't, there's the Mirakuru prisoners running around that are very dangerous but Oliver thinks that what? Slade will just go away, kill them, they'll all play nice?

No, he doesn't because he uses that exact same argument against Blood in the restaurant. It's just so annoying and it's (IMO) a failure of these writers/producers...they want big epic OMG moments but shortcut the story to get it.

In the end they wanted Oliver to look like a hero going of to sacrifice himself for the greater good but in reality he was being selfish and the opposite of heroic. It's all flash (no pun intended) and style over actual substance, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  37. They're rushing her development. In this episode alone she

    - Got back on her "Blood is evil!" kick

    - Planted a bug in his office and convinced her dad to join in her illegal wiretapping

    - Convinced Oliver to fight back

    - Saved Oliver from a goon

The thing is, as always, they suck at writing for Laurel and all of "her" victories come from, the failures of others

    - Blood decides to have an extensive convo about the death of a parent with someone who accused him of killing his

    - No one noticed a flashing red light under the corner of the Mayor's desk

    - Oliver saw Slade's army and knew Slade could kill him single-handedly but still thought Slade would stop at his death alone

    - Oliver had exploding arrows and decided to fight up close instead

Now in the promo she is using Ollie's bow. I have a sinking feeling they're going to have her as BC at the start of next season.

    ReplyDelete
  38. *takes a rare peek into the comments section hoping to discuss the show, sees the hate (which is an unfortunate part of this fandom) and regrets it immediately*

WTF!!! There is something really wrong with a large part (at least the most vocal ones) of this fandom. Hope the creators of this show keep on going forward with THEIR vision of the story and not give an inch to the rabid fans.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Don't confuse development with simply being useful. None of the tasks she completed are stepping stones to becoming a crime fighter or, heaven forbid, taking her sister's place. She just wasn't being a whiny useless lump, which was nice and not having Sara around gave the show the space to display it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. But, but.............. it's Laurel so ........... ;) :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. It's not just that she did something it's that she did practically everything in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I was still rooting for them to turn it around before she blackmailed her way back into the DA's office based on the advice of someone who held her at gun point mere hours ago. Now I'm just done with her.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yes, she was heavily featured in this episode but that's not necessarily development. Almost everything she did in this episode she's done before in one form or another. It's not like any of it was a big leap forward in chracter progression. This was just a spotlight episode for her. Almost every regular on the show has had a few this season.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Unfortunately I feel like the writers are forcing Laurel into the plot... i mean she was useful especially when it came to figuring everything out about Blood... But her speech to Oliver was laughable at best, it was forced especially in the way she said that she knows Oliver the most out of everyone (clearly she doesn't). And it was really unbelievable (not in the good way) how Oliver jumped back into the game after that ridiculous speech. Felicity's and Digg's was even more heartfelt if I'm being honest...

While I'm glad they're making Laurel more likable, they're really rushing everything when it comes to her. While I don't call what she's going through 'character development', I think it's unusual that she bounced back from being a drug addict and an alcoholic really quickly and now is working for the DA etc. Which is probably why I still can't find it in me to root for her character...

It was weird to see Laurel in the foundry, like she didn't belong there yet she told Felicity and Digg (the two people who literally built the foundry from the ground up) to leave so she can talk to 'Ollie'? Then she threw a mini tantrum about how Oliver isn't letting her join the mission yet doesn't mind if Digg and Felicity go, which just put me off even more.

I'm glad people are liking her more and maybe I'm just nitpicking, but I'm actually starting to like her less :/

    ReplyDelete
  45. Barely any Sara and Roy meant it was a great episode. Felt like how the show used to be.

    ReplyDelete
  46. "In the end they wanted Oliver to look like a hero going off to sacrifice himself for the greater good but in reality he was being selfish and the opposite of heroic. It's all flash (no pun intended) and style over actual substance, IMO."

    So basically classic Oliver then.

    ReplyDelete
  47. - "But her speech to Oliver was laughable at best..."
That has nothing to do with being 'forced'. You didn't find the speech to be an honest reflection of their relationship and that's an entirely different issue.

    - "I think it's unusual that she bounced back from being a drug addict and an alcoholic really quickly...
21 episodes. 21 episodes, two short of an entire season, from Laurel's downward spiral, to rock bottom, to recovery, to where she is now. That's the opposite of quickly. That's about as long of a character arc as you'll get on network TV these days.

There's nothing forced about what went on tonight. Laurel has previously made claims about Oliver that many viewers didn't agree with, she has previously tried to force herself into Arrow activities even before she knew his identity, she has previously been the catalyst for Oliver to raise his game, etc. etc. I could go on but the point is that everything Laurel did tonight is in line with her character history on this show and there's nothing forced about repeating a pattern of behavior.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I guess this is where our opinions differ :)(I get so excited when this happens! I guess it goes to show why I was in the debate club in high school for 4 years)... I feel like her recovery started with Oliver's speech about how she's really hit rock bottom which was I think a couple of episodes. To me recovery starts with acknowledging you have a problem, and that moment was when Laurel truly acknowledged that she had an issue.

Also, I actually thought her speech was forced. maybe it's because the acting was a little stiff there, but mostly because what she said, at least in my opinion, didn't make any sense and didn't hold true to what their relationship was like in the past. Laurel wants to believe she knows everything about Oliver, but I think she only truly knows Oliver pre-island, not post. Oliver post-island is so much more than who he was when he was with Laurel and based on their limited/tense interactions these past 2 seasons, I truly doubt she knows him.

Your third paragraph though. I would probably agree to. Laurel has always been stubborn, and it's no excuse that she was in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well, the show has finally graduated from "okay" to "good" again...mostly because of the Thea parts, and because Team Arrow was finally featured properly again (I really got a laugh out of Felicity crying on Moira's funeral - very astute scene when Diggle explained to her why).
But honestly, the episode took a nosedive the moment Laurel turned up in the hide-out. The way the writers shoehorned her into the ep from that point onward was just painful...but the initial conversation took the cake. For one, I really had to laugh when Oliver looked all surprised when she "revealed" Blood involvement...yeah, it's not like she didn't tell him that beforehand (a fact he even acknowledges three lines later). And now she just has to say "I have proof" and he suddenly believes her? Right!
But the worst part was version 37 of the "I know you better than anyone"-speech. Dear writers, STOP DOING THAT. Just because you keep repeating it, it doesn't make it more truth or more convincing. But then, I called that they would push Laurel back in the picture, soon. So I am not surprised. Doesn't change the fact that the only way that she gets to do something most of the time is to give the other characters moments of incompetence.

    ReplyDelete
  50. i have to say it was so odd for the ep to have such limited action going on in an episode. lol im so used to the episode starting with an action scene and this time the action scenes didnt start til the very end lol

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'd like to vote two separate votes.

The part with Team Arrow, Thea and Walter was great. Stephen Amell did a good job as anguished Oliver, I love the Thea/Oliver/Walter scenes, and finally Diggle and Felicity got to do something again. The interrogation was a hoot.

The part with Laurel was forced, came out of nowhere (how did she get such a sophisticated bug?, why was the police IT guy willing to lose his job for her?), the scene where she "saves" Oliver because she knows him so well was contrary to what they've been showing up the past two years, and when he tells her to stay put, she leaves and put him in danger. Laurel was a mistake they keep making worse every time they try to force her on us.

    ReplyDelete
  52. She's had more spotlight episodes than any other character except for Sara. It's like the producers think that it they can just find enough ways to spotlight Laurel, we'll love her. It seems like the opposite if true, that the number of people fed up with Laurel keeps growing. Now it's not just those don't think Katie Cassidy's acting is up to it, plus who prefer Felicity, and those who prefer Sara, it's also people who don't like being gaslighted.

Over and over the writers have shown that Laurel doesn't understand Oliver at all, that he's lied to her over and over for 7 years and she couldn't figure it out, that he's more complex than she sees, and for the last two years that he doesn't really care about her other than as an old girlfriend. But apparently in this episode, it's not Thea, or Diggle, or Felicity who can get through to him in a totally WTH? move. Yes, she's said before that no one understands Oliver as well as she does but then the writers gave us a scene which showed she didn't have a clue how he felt or worked.

And then, when Oliver says "The three of us started it, it's up to us to finish it" and thousands at home cheered, Laurel puts on a really bright coat and follows him, putting them both in danger. And instead of pointing out how stupid this is, the show expects us to cheer how wonderful she is.

I don't know why the show keeps pushing her forward. I know her name is Laurel Dinah Lance but Caity Lotz makes a better Canary and every other woman on the show has better chemistry with Stephen Amell than she does.

    It's hurting the show.

    ReplyDelete
  53. You know what, f*** all of you haters!

Laurel was great in this episode!

She finally got vindication over her suspicions with Sebastian Blood, snapped Oliver out of his pity party and galvanized him to get back in the game by making him see that Sebastian is the guy in the skull mask who's in league with Slade, and saved Oliver (as Arrow) from a "Deathstroke" soldier.
She is and always will be an important character in the series and anybody who thinks the opposite of that is either stupid, ignorant, or both!

    ReplyDelete
  54. That's just an assumption and Black Canary never used a bow in the comics. She's a martial artist and has the Canary cry. Maybe she's like Arrowette now. Funny how she's wearing a 'red" jacket. That's what Arrowette wears or wore.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I wonder if they will still be using the foundry since it is in Queen Consolidated hands and not the Queens. It won't matter what the outcome of the big battle is because he's lost everything.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think they're going to start using Oliver's other secret foundry! I mean, why else introduce it when it won't be of good use? I guess Oliver will have to find a new place to brood!

    ReplyDelete
  57. by the end of the battle, I think the club will be destroyed along with the arrow cave.......the city is going to burned!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I wouldn't say it was a stretch for Laurel to figure out Blood had something to do with Moira's death, I think it confirmed what she'd investigated during her addiction and just put further dots together.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Is it just me or can't the writers win when it comes to Laurel?

It seems everyone complains no matter what she does, and yet I found it abysmal that they had Felicity throw out some comedy during the wake.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Actually, I don't think the speech from Laurel got to Oliver. It was more the information that Blood was working with Slade. She really should have opened with that.

    ReplyDelete
  61. People seek things to complain about when it comes to her. Most of it is nonsense. When some people dislike a character (which is fine, no problem with that) they seem to want to create fault or seek it out where there is none because if they can do that it's no longer just an opinion or a personal preference. They need to give it legitimacy and turn it into a right and wrong situation, as in they're right and if you don't agree you're wrong. It makes for a lot of hollow arguments and pointless nitpicking. I tend to ignore most of it. Admittedly though, I'm not doing such a good job tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I thought Laurel was great tonight, it brought me back round on the character. Nitpicking that she'd told Oliver to stand and fight and saying they couldn't fight all the men is pointless, it's not like she was saying they should surrender or accept defeat.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The episode was awesome!

Laurel was great. She was the only one who could convince Oliver to fight Slade and not commit a suicide. She does know him better than anyone. She proved it again. Her speech wasn't forced. If someone disagree, rewatch the show. From the Pilot we were shown that Oliver and Laurel have a connection, understanding and a deep love. They have a long history. Oliver changed after the island, but Oliver said to Laurel that island only opened a person he always was. And Laurel saw that person before the island. She loved that person all along.
I'm happy that now they can be completely honest with each other.
Can't wait for the next episode!)

I love how Laurel aka future BC is more integrated in the team!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. These guys are too strong to take on one on one. Next shot...Arrow taking on one of the guys one on one. At least Laurel helped. Loved the episode but I feel like I can't really comment until I've seen all three of these final eps before I can really get to the nitty gritty. I did love the character work with regard to Oliver and Thea. And go Laurel...listen to your gut. Awesome set up to what shows the promise of a war.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I agree...above all I was wondering when exactly she decided to investigate Blood after all (and isn't Quentin's trial still upcoming? I know she got him out of prison, but he is also back on the job? And helping her?) - did I somehow miss an episode?

    ReplyDelete
  67. I thought this episode was good and a great set up for the upcoming finale. The island scenes were a distraction this episode. I wish in next season they do the flashbacks in chunks and avoid it in episodes like these.

Loved all Thea scenes and that Thea Oliver scene was so powerful with little words. I wish this show concentrates more on the family aspects than Oliver's love life. I don't know why all CW shows discard family bonding over romance. They should have shown more Lance sisters bonding instead of showing us their romantic feelings towards Oliver *rolling eyes*.

Oliver, Felicity and Diggle is going to be Team Arrow for me forever even if one of them bites the dust in coming seasons. Others can join but the chemistry, understanding and respect these three share will always be above everyone else. All Diggle Felicity scenes, and trio scenes at the second lair was wonderful and perfectly enacted. Diggle conveys so much without any words and Felicity's words are golden and heart felt always. Oliver always looks like a hero even when he is around them.

Unlike lot of my friends here I did not dislike Laurel today. I was only mildly annoyed by her. May be its because I watched the last three episodes together yesterday as I was unable to watch before and I was expecting some thing like this to happen this episode. I liked Laurel at last proving Blood wrong in front of Oliver and her father. She deserved it. I did not mind her pushing Oliver out of his funk (even though I wished it was Thea after knowing Oliver was Arrow). We cannot deny the fact that after Moira and Thea it is Laurel who has the most pull with Oliver. But can the writers stop laying it on thick how much Laurel knows Oliver and the connection they have in dialogues. Instead show us with actions. Katie Cassidy and Stephen Amell sadly still don't have any chemistry (personal opinion, I know some diagree)

I know Laurel will be BC and they have to start her journey and show us how courageous she is. But couldn't they find some other way for her to save Oliver than once again going to a life threatening situation after being warned not to. The scene where Laurel beats the guy in head reminded me of Felicity beating the guy in S02 E01. Both were scenes avoidable but at least Felicity being there in the meeting made some sense unlike Laurel going to a place swarming with mirakuru infested soldiers about to be blown up.

Can't wait for malcolm merlyn next episode and can Roy get up already. Didn't miss Sara in this one.:)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Last episode when she blackmailed DA Spencer she said Quentin will be released, all charges will be dropped and he will be reinstated immediately.

  69. She didn't even knew Oliver Pre-Island. Remember her nice little three-year plan to the perfect future, when he was actually far from wanting to be tied down by her?
I really think that this is what aggravates me the most, the constant claim that Laurel has somehow a special sight on his soul when she really doesn't know him at all. She believed him to be reliable when he was just a playboy. Then she believed him to be a playboy when he was actually trying to do the right thing. And now she believes that she has a deeper understanding for him when in truth she still has no idea what really happened on this island.
The only two characters on the show which really have an inkling of him are Diggle and Sara. Diggle because Oliver opens up to him and he is a war veteran himself and Sara because she was there for at least part of the story and has her own burden to bear.

  70. I really liked most of this episodes plot... highlight was definitely team arrow. Sooo excited for the next episode with Malcolm! He's such a BAMF. Unfortunately I just can't warm up to Laurel. Tbh I think Katie Cassidy's acting can be really poor and it doesn't help that she isn't written well. The downside of next episode: watching Laurel follow Oliver around making puppy dog eyes at him and feeding his ego

  71. I despise Laurel since the episode one. If she becomes a new Canary or comes any way closer to Team Arrow I am gonna lose it. She just doesn't work in this show, I have this feeling like every time they show her on screen she is there as nothing but a space-filler. Every. Single. Scene. I don't like her with Oliver. I don't like her solo. I didn't even like her with Tommy. I can't find chemistry between her and any of the characters on the show. When she approaches anyone it seems forced, stiff and exhausting.
I am just really glad that by looking at these comments I am not the only one who thinks this way.

  72. Neither Arrows's credits nor its characters' role within the separate universe of the comics has anything to say about the story that is presented onscreen.

  73. I am not a Laurel fan at all. I don't hate her. I usually have mixed feelings about her. But it is nice to see more Laurel fans in this forum. There used to be more Laurel fans but they kind of stopped posting after the beginning of season 2. Its fun to read different perspectives.

  74. I have to agree with you on this. I have no problem with Laurel pulling Oliver out of his funk. She is his close friend who had a love hate relationship with both his persona. The problem is the dialogue with romantic undertones trying to hammer into us that Oliver and Laurel are soulmates. If only she tried to motivate him by listing all the good he had done after becoming Arrow instead stating pre island she believed Oliver to be a fighter. Pre-island Oliver was a dick with loose morals and maybe a good heart. He became a fighter because of his experiences during the island. This is what irks me about their approach towards Laurel in this show.

  75. I thought it was very poorly done. No one gets to be mayor that quick! No one. And "Oh, I will tell you in public, I'm Arrow" scene was stupid to the 100th degree. Why tell Blood anything? The show has jumped the Slade.

  76. Of course they are. He lost his place, and is broke, so he will have his secondary hideout

  77. That was amazing! Can it be next week please?

  78. This episode was thrilling!!! I LOL when Felicity said "Bitch with Wifi." I really love the olicity scene.. I think I will have a hard time to fall asleep. *fangirling

  79. I thought he was going to throw the knife too! I was totally waiting for it and then sad when he didn't. I get why he did it, but I totally wanted it to happen.

  80. When she said his name I literally said to the tv "THAT is why you weren't allowed to come!"

  81. "My negative point goes to Laurel, I just hated the line "Too many of them , we can't fight" after her speech to Oliver in the cave to continue the fight."

What did you want her to say? They barely escaped from one, now they are against 10... At least she is not dumb to say, we can do it!

  82. I agree and I'm really not liking Laurel not that I ever did before but I loved the speech Oliver gave about it being just the Trio again because I missed that all season I'm glad we're getting back to that. Yeah, Laurel dying I want that too and I hoped that would happen when Slade went into her home or she can leave town both are fine for me. We won't see Barry wake up until October so I doubt there will be news about him but we'll see I really can't wait for next week it looks so good.

  83. How are they going to let her use the bow and arrow next week? I'm really not feeling it she's not even trained I'm not liking her at all.

  84. Great episode with the exception of Laurel. She shouldn't been in the lair, been there for 5seconds and she bossed around Digg and Felicity like she belonged there - so wrong!!!! I like Katie Cassidy but as Laurel she pisses me off because the character is terrible!!!!! Hell, though Felicity is my favourite even Sara is better than Laurel!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. she shouldn't even been there!!!!

  86. "Laurel....Ok glad all that truth is out in the open. Don't try to interfere with Team Arrow!! I didn't like her in the Arrow Cave, i felt really uncomfortable about it and it felt out of place for her. I wasn't feeling it. And i didn't like her "saving Ollie's life" b/c in that moment all i thought about was my god she is stubborn! I'm sorry but i still want her dead. But i guess now would be an inappropriate time since Ollie has already lost 3 people. Guess i have to put up with her next season."
Couldn't agree more, don't wish her dead but wouldn't mind if they would send her off far, far away!!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yea i know Barry won't wake til the pilot. Or i assume he won't but we'll see. It would make for a really good twist. As i've said before if they're not going to kill Laurel, then they need to send her FAR FAR AWAY, like to THE ISLAND! Where she can train. And then come back like season 4. LOL J/K (not really).

    ReplyDelete
  88. I was sad about it too. lol I've wanted him dead for so long. I was glad it all came out in the open. Now all that waits is his demise!!

    ReplyDelete
  89. That's funny b/c i just said that to Reozen below me. I've wanted her dead for awhile now. Then in the beginning to middle of season 2, i said ok if they're not going to kill her, then send her to the island so she can train. I really don't want to see her in that cave anymore until she's trained. I don't see Sara training her really. I like that Sara is helping Felicity in that area, as is Diggle. And Ollie's training Roy, sooo Laurel can go on that island. lol

    ReplyDelete
  90. I agree with you about the speech.

But I'm scared the writers were serious about making her Oliver's co-star next season.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I agree, it was the information that turned him around. That's what we saw on screen.

But Andrew Kreisburg gave interviews saying that Laurel is going to get through to Oliver at his darkest hour and turn him around, and what they're selling is that Laurel is his soulmate all the while showing something else.

I can't trust the show to be true to it's own universe any more, or trust the writers to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  92. The writers could win if they wrote Laurel honestly. If what they showed, they also told.

They can't spend 43 episodes showing that Laurel doesn't understand Oliver and never did, that he's been lying to her about many things for 7 years, that even pre-island Sara understood Oliver better than Laurel does (Sara knew Oliver cheated on Laurel with at least 10 other girls while Laurel thought they were in love and going to get married), and then expect me to buy that Laurel knows him better than anyone else does, knows him "in her bones" and is the only one who can pull him out of his depression because they are soulmates.

And when Oliver tells Laurel he needs her to stay safe, she ignores him, puts on a flaming red coat, and goes after him. How am I supposed to root for her after that?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Yes, the writers to tend to say one thing while what is on screen shows the opposite. And its almost always about Laurel, too.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Not only here, but at every other recap/review post around the internet. Comments are basically 99% complaints. I wish the writers would just accept it. At this point is feels like KC has something against them.

    ReplyDelete
  95. If she wasn't there then Oliver would be one head short...

    ReplyDelete
  96. I didn't mind Laurel. Actually, I think she did a good job but, to be fair, she convinced Oliver by telling him about Blood. Then he realized that his death would hurt the city. Their relationship or her knowledge of Oliver were irrelevant.

No, Laurel is like the Lana of Clark in Smallville... Ever so boring, and never quite knowing where is going.

    ReplyDelete
  98. From Blood's perspective... isn't he doing almost exactly the same thing that Malcolm tried last season and extend from just the Glades to the entire city; and replace a earth quake machine with an army of men on supersteroids?

    ReplyDelete
  99. You are right, mostly the information about Blood changed Oliver's mind. Laurel gave him a way to fight Slade. But her entire speech was important to him. She knew what to say, how to convince him. And I think Oliver was even touched by the fact that she knew the truth about the Arrow and she was okay with it. He thought about telling her almost every night, but he was afraid that she would react like Tommy did, but she didn't. Laurel accepted it, just like his mother did.
So maybe the information about Blood changed his mind. But the whole scene was important to their relationship and to Oliver. This scene showed that Laurel understands Oliver and knows him despite all his secrets.
