Loved it! After watching all 8 seasons live, I feel right back at home! Great actors too!! Catelyn Stark! I'm studying everyone to see if I can figure out who the "mole" is. Right now, I'm not liking Audrey's husband.
The was an enjoyable start. Jack, Chole, the Hellers, blowing up The CIA station, drones being hacked, drug dealers, knives in ears - what fun. It's hopefully going to be a terrific summer!
I don't think so !! If this is the case that's mean they doing the same thing as season 8 so I don't think it's gonna happen. ..but I bet my money that she's freaking badass!!
Jack is back! I loved all the ol' little elements of the show. And I had the biggest grin on my face when I heard "Events occur in real time" and "Damn it!"
Jack and Chloe... oh how I've missed thee and the adrenaline rush I get from this show! Even though I would've like a bit more quick background, with the limited number of eps it's understandable that they had to jump right into this thick of things and they did it nicely.... soooo excited to have the rush back!
This is obviously just season 9 of 24. I doubt new viewers (who are not familiair with 24) could just jump in. I am curious if there are new viewers though, and what they thought of these episodes..? Anyone?
I"M NOT LOOKING!! LoL! I haven't even posted on GoT this week because i don't want to get spoiled. Little did i know coming to a 24 thread i would run into this!... Wish i could put it out of my mind!
I'm only watching for Yvonne Strahovski. I've never really liked 24. I thought it was good for two reasons: A) Yvonne Strahovski. B) London. The rest was alright, nothing ground-breaking.
LOVED IT!! They kept all the trademarks that made the series so different from other shows involving Counter-Terroisim. But the one thing they need to drop is the ''Live Another Day'' part as it dosen't even appear in the title card, dammit!
Colin Salmon's american accent was quite odd to hear at first lol
I though that could be the possibility too, not just because of her previews roles (which they're clearly winking to Dexter with her surname), but I would think they wouldn't repeat the Rene' Walkers revenge good agent taken for a ride plot and that there would have to be twist in there somewhere...but I think it could take awhile.
I watched the first three seasons of 24 a couple of years ago, but did not continue watching. I was busy and it was too many episodes. I remember watching a couple of episodes of the last season on TV when it was on. I figured this mini series would not require the average viewer to have watched the entire series to watch this one, so I did. I watched the first episode, haven't gotten to the second one yet. I liked it. Even for those who haven't watched the original show, it's just a good, action packed thriller. I'm gonna watch the rest of the season to see how it turns out.
Wow. What an exhilarating start to the return of 24! Bombs, interrogations, shootouts, drones presidents in danger (of course!), cover-ups, & a potentially high-quality villain in Michelle Fairley (Robb Stark's mom is back from the grave!)...plus a heavily transformed Chloe (still the same at the core) looking hot with that new punk-rock style! Don't recall a previous season of 24 that was as fast paced or adrenaline rushing as this, though we are still to see whether they maintain this same pace, but is a high possibility with the shortened season. In short it is everything I loved about 24 but made more modern, which only adds to the quality. Couldn't hope for a more high quality return and it reminds viewers that 24, especially this new fresher version, can give blockbuster action films & even Game of Thrones a run for their money!
Not that I think you need to know, but some of the characters (Jack, Chloe, Audrey, Mark, Heller) are from previous seasons and sometimes characters come in and out of seasons and get tied back a little to other things!
Jack knocking out Morgan similar to him knock Reene out in season 7 and eventually he and Reene work together........I think Morgan will join Jack for some reason
Yes I know that. But storywise it can be considered as season 9. It can't really stand alone. I believe the creators also refer to it as 'Day 9'.
Same thing with Redemption. It can be considered part of season 7 (even though I know it isn't). However, you can't really compare the two since that was a movie and this is a 12 part season.
Sick or not, it's really cliched how subordinates run around doing their own things without telling their boss who usually has more information. 24 has been doing this since S1 and is my biggest peeve though I pretty much love the show otherwise. Also huge Yvonne fan (would have watched this even if I'd never seen 24 before) and thought Chloe's "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" style make over was kinda funny. But it was so cool watching Jack in action.... wish this was a full season but if ratings are good enough there might be a season 10 (or Day 10 for those who don't want to call this a season).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
DAMMIT fox !!! i love you now.... well done !
ReplyDeleteFox, I fucking hate you for canceling Almost Human, but I fucking love you for bringing back 24.
ReplyDeleteLove it how I miss this show
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna call it now. Kate Morgan was the one selling secrets to Chinese not her husband

ReplyDeleteThat was simply amazing. Time for some major *** kicking, Jack Bauer style.
ReplyDeleteMy money's on Kate Morgan being the next Jack Bauer. I missed this show!
ReplyDeleteI don't think so !!

Michelle Fairley is in it?! I might have to watch, I can't wait five more weeks for her to be back on GoT. :(
ReplyDeleteYep, and she kicks ass, apparently.
ReplyDeleteJack is back! I loved all the ol' little elements of the show. And I had the biggest grin on my face when I heard "Events occur in real time" and "Damn it!"

ReplyDeleteYeah you could be right, Hopefully, she reminds me a lot like Katee Sackhoff though
ReplyDeletebest 2 eps back to back ..usually in tv shows after a pilot nxt ep considerably slow things down, but not hear ..its racing
ReplyDeleteWell, to be honest it wasn't really a pilot ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is obviously just season 9 of 24. I doubt new viewers (who are not familiair with 24) could just jump in. I am curious if there are new viewers though, and what they thought of these episodes..?
Anyone?
How is Catelyn Stark coming back when she is dead? Never mind, don't answer.
ReplyDeleteedit- I really hope you didn't spoil it,especially since we aren't even in a GoT thread!
DON'T GO LOOKING FOR THESE SPOILERS for GoT, seriously. Forget you ever read it.
ReplyDeleteI"M NOT LOOKING!! LoL! I haven't even posted on GoT this week because i don't want to get spoiled. Little did i know coming to a 24 thread i would run into this!... Wish i could put it out of my mind!

ReplyDeletes it was not a pilot but after going dark for 4 yrs and to start it sure looked like one..

LOVED IT! Nice new cast and love seeing a lot old cast again too!
ReplyDeleteI though that could be the possibility too, not just because of her previews roles (which they're clearly winking to Dexter with her surname), but I would think they wouldn't repeat the Rene' Walkers revenge good agent taken for a ride plot and that there would have to be twist in there somewhere...but I think it could take awhile.
ReplyDeleteAre you really going to ask that? XD
ReplyDeleteBut he's sick...it might come down to Audrey battling it out with Mark and/or whomever the vice President is!
ReplyDeleteSometimes i just want to shake people silly!

Its nice to have the show back with all its usual tropes, we got a 'YOU'VE GOT TO TRUST ME' and a 'damnit' from Jack so that's great!
ReplyDeleteLoved the twist with Derek's girlfriend that was awesome!

Did you get through the rewatch?
ReplyDeleteYeah! I watched the last an hour before Live Another Day Started! XD
ReplyDeleteNot that I think you need to know, but some of the characters (Jack, Chloe, Audrey, Mark, Heller) are from previous seasons and sometimes characters come in and out of seasons and get tied back a little to other things!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was the one thing I was wondering about. What happened with Jack and the President and his daughter?
ReplyDeleteJack knocking out Morgan similar to him knock Reene out in season 7 and eventually he and Reene work together........I think Morgan will join Jack for some reason
ReplyDeleteGoth Chloe is so HOT!!! I don't remember her being this hot on the original series
ReplyDeleteThis isn't S9. It's a 12-episode miniseries. Same reason Redemption wasn't S7.
