Alot of unanswered questions. Did Murphy know all along that he was a carrier of the virus? He wanted revenge on the group for banishing him, so it's possible he knew he was going in there to kill them.
We still don't know if that was THE dropship with Abby and the others on board. Are they really all dead?
Jasper really stepped up. And Octavia actually grew up alot in this ep. Raven wised up.
I thought it was a great ep for character development all around.
And we learned there are other grounders, Mountain Men? Things are really heating up on this show. Can't wait for next week.
Another great episode. I missed the ark, although there was hardly time to miss it at all. I'm a little bit disappointed on Murphy for killing that other guy, not because because I didn't expect it (since I was surprised when he "forgave" him in the first place), but because I was kind of happy when he did. Should've known it was going to happen anyway, it was completely out of character, but still, I kind of hoped he'd learnt something. They just killed the love quadrangle, so now we're back to the triangle instead, because we all know Bellamy is a quite taken by Clarke, even if he doesn't think so. I've already said that I lean more to Finn/Clarke than Bellamy/Clarke, so I didn't mind their interactions in this episode at all. I like that Finn is more idealistic, even if it borders on naive sometimes (like in last episode). Aparently next week will have lot's of Finn and Clarke again. Like I said, I don't mind, I even like it a little, but I hope they tone it down some again. I love that this show keeps romance in the backseat, and I want it to continue that way. Now that Raven called it quits, maybe she can go back to be awesome all the time and I'm deffinitely looking forward to that. I'm so glad Octavia and Lincoln are done for the time being, I really want to see her without a guy and focusing more on her brother and the camp. I remember after seeing the promos for this show, I went into the pilot fully expecting to hate her, and surprisingly enough I actually liked her, maybe now I can go back to liking her again, because I really haven't in the last 2/3 episodes. And I hope this is the last we see of "superior" Jasper, he really needs to crawl back from where he came from and give us regular Jasper back. By the end of the episode it looked like her was back to his normal self, hopefully that's the case. All in all, another great episode. Here's hoping next season we get 22 episodes.
Damn that was close, made me almost hate Jasper forever, his behavior at the start of the episode was displeasing, but he has a nice friend in Monty, who came to help him in then, and by doing so brought Jasper back to the good land of likeable characters.
Murphy... I knew before this episode he is not to be trusted, and what do you know he isn't if he is still capable of revenge impulses. He made a good effort to being good, I'd give him that, where if he didn't kill anyone one would even consider hey maybe he changed, but nope he didn't.
Good Man Finn helps both girls, but still loses both, one in an official breakup, the other in some trust issues. That being when Bellamy asked do you expect them to pull off the Bridge Job, she goes lets get them in the drop ship. Nice trust there 2 ep in a row Clark.
The instant Lincoln asked Octavia to go far away with him, I knew she would say no in the end. Reason being my TV watching experience. Wonder if he is gone forever, or his circumstance will make him the outsider helping hand. aka he will appear to help during the upcoming battle, or come out of the blue in a future episode when situations are dire.
And woa who are them Mountain Men, I hope they are some mini bosses in comparison to the Grounders being Elite mobs.
Awesome Episode, I just think that Clarke is not anywhere close to be over Finn just because she is not convinced he and the other have success with the bomb mission. Bellamy and Clarke work well as leaders but I don't see anything romantic so far (and I don't think the writers intended to do so - maybe next season). However, considering that Bellamy is older than the others, he might be attracted to Raven who never backed down from him. That might be the offer mentioned in the description of one of the next episodes.
it was nice to see octavia taking care of bellamy for once instead of him taking care of her =) i'm so pissed at murphy, i'm sure he's going to cause a lot of trouble.! but to be honest i kind of expected something like that, couldn't really believe that he would forgive so easily... the promo for the next episode looks reeaally good.! x3
It wasn't as suspenseful As the last episode but maybe because of the ark and the grounders and the 100 didn't go straight to war. They post-poned it with the bomb and were dealing with this sickness. I did like that it focused on the characters Raven, Octavia, and Jasper the most. Im so glad Raven dumped Finn. She is too bad ass and tough to deal Anymore with Finn goggling eyes at Clarke. Plus she went all on her own to put the bomb to help the others buy time. She shows she cares for them and not Just Finn. Jasper was great. He started like a show off, an a-hole, then went to scared and brave and then himself again. And I loved Octavia choosing her people over Lincoln. The scenes with Her and Bellamy were sweet. I love those two. Clarke and Bellamy once again take leadership to a whole other level. I don't care if they aren't a couple those two as leaders are what is going to help the 100 survive. And as for Murphy. I knew he was up to something. Question is if really was a prisoner of the grounders or if has joined them. Can't wait. I'm thinking Murphy and Bellamy are going to have one last show Down.
Geez...I was wondering when they would kill off the other black guy....Also, one has to love the fact that all of the grounders are either masked or non-white, because they think anything else would leave viewers conflicted.. F*** the CW..this is the 21st century.
Another great episode! I loved everyone. The Bellamy/clarke and Bellamy/octavia scenes were awesome! And we all knew Murphy wasn't coming back with good intentions.
Loved the episode..... I believe that Murphy knew all along...... he wanted revenge on the camp for banishing him...... at the end when he killed the other guy I was not surprised....... IMO he is a trojan horse.......
I was so close to hate Jasper forever too. I think I actually yelled at him to stop being an a**hole. I'm glad that by the end of the episode he was on his way back to being himself. Regarding Clarke trusting Finn, I think she would've done the same if it the roles between Finn and Bellamy were reversed. To me it wasn't a matter of trust, but of taking precausions, in case they failed or if the bomb didn't stop them, they could buy themselves some time by being inside. It was the logical thing to do. I'm intrigued about the mountaine men too, although to me it sounded as if they were a much bigger deal tan the grounders. Maybe we'll see them next episode.
I don'tknow how buy they've managed to make me hate Jasper really fast. I also don't know how this keeps getting better. Sleeper cell Murphy can have some serious consequences thoigh I'm noy sure I understood what the bloody rag ment in Raven's bed. I do wander what happened to Clarke's mom cause I'm pretty sure they're not done with that story yet, I don't buy she was on the thing that crashed, it would seem to simple and unexplained.
Another great episode. I don't think Murphy is working with the grounders. I think his story is true but he obviously hasn't changed his ways and he was probably happy when everyone got infected. Also I love how this show connects things that have happened in the past with the present. Murphy didn't get over what Connor did and I'm sure Clarke and Bellamy are next.
I'm glad Raven broke up with Finn but now he is going to get stuck with Clarke and his scenes with either of them always suck.
Well, that's because it's only recism when it comes to colour people, didn't you know? LOL. Someone was trying to make the exact same argument when Wells died, as if this showed hadn't kill off plenty of caucasians... Some people will never change...
I bet that thing that crashed was part of the station that got destroyed when the rebelled station members decided to take one of the ships for themselves.
and how many white guys got infected and died this episode? R U people really that stupid that you have to look for hidden racism everywhere? Much more whites got killed in this show than nonwhites...Oh my god, black boy got killed, end of the world. Get over yourself.
And we saw just how many grounders without masks? 2? 3? And you already assumed they are all nonwhites? And those mountain men are brobably the blackest of all!
You would be happy is 2/3 of the cast was black, and black guys would have white girls, and blacks would be the most intelligent, the fittest people of all in the show, then it would be 21st century for you?
What I find disturbing is when in American tv or cinemas there is a racist person its almost 100 % white guy! Its like black people are the best of all mankind. I can hardly recall any film about racist black guy, lakeview terrace is the only one that came to my mind. Black people are racist too, black woman and white man had no chance of living in black neighborhood. When a black guy is killed by a cop, the cop is called racist and crowd of black people demonstrates on the streets, when a white guy got killed by a cop its nothing to demonstrate about. When a black guy is called names because he has a white girl its a news for every tv station, when a white cop of polish descend and his black girlfriend got killed and black killers used their blood to write some insults on the walls how many tv stations mentioned it and called those guys racists?
Its like a black guy cannot be racist.
Can you explain what that major problem of CW is? Can you count all of the people that died in this particular show and divide them into ethnic groups? It would show how terribly wrong you are, the majority, vast, of killed people is white!
Well, here's a list of some of my favorite shows: Downtown Abbey, The Good Wife, Haven, Game of Thrones, The Americans.. There are practically no black characters in these shows and I don't have a problem with them. Nor do I have issues with a show like "Girls" even if other people did. If you can't see why I have an issue with this particular show (and other CW shows) and not those shows, then you're being near-sighted.
BTW, there is no need to be rude and respond with ridiculous hyperboles. The fact that you aren't intelligent enough to respond in a civil or thoughtful manner just further proves my point. This is why there is no such thing as a civil race discussion. We can discuss disparities in representation of every single group, but once someone mentions race we get attacked. By the way, maybe you can tell me what percentage of young white male characters with a speaking role (and ones that you can name) have died? If you cast only 2 black recurring males, and kill both of them, that's 100% correct? And that includes the one who was heavily promoted on their promotional figures as a lead character, Well's dad is also very unpopular, so I'd be surprised if his character had that much more longevity. And as I included in this post, it isn't only about blacks, even though you have made it only about blacks (not sure why). The Grounders are all of mixed race....which is technically how one would envision the future. But apparently in this future, greater than 95% of the juvenile delinquents are white kids...possibly because they are also the protagonists.
Wow...tell me how your really feel. You're sort of going off on an angry unrelated tangeant, when you could have just addressed the issue we were dealing with. So you're basically using an argument of deflection Not worth my time.
It's worthless discussing with someone like her. Jaha, Monty and Raven are part of the main cast and the actor who plays Jaha is one of the best paid actors if not the best. Some people will find racism where there isn't. This show has killed plenty of white people.
Then write to the CW or stop watching their shows. If you want to see some change do something. Whining in a comment section won't change anything. The CW has been the only network to have an Asian woman as a lead character. They give black people love interests in all of their shows. It's going to be the only network where a tv show has a latina as a lead character. The Flash main love interest is black when in the comics she is white. If you compared them to the other networks are they really that bad? But I guess it's really easy to go against The CW.
So you don't have a problem with Girls but you have a problem with The CW? I guess you are just one of those people who think it's cool to bash The CW but wouldn't dare to point the obvious issues in some HBO shows.
I have a feeling that if vast majority of the 100 (the prisoners) were black or other than caucasian, you would be like: "why almost everybody in the prison part of the station nonwhite? Its racist, not all black are cryminals!". Some people are just hard to please...
Do we even know what year it is on the show? Why do you think that "one whould envision the future" human race to be mixed? Maybe in 2000 years we are gonna be mixed but there is no evidence what year it is on the show so I dont know why you states that ALL mixed? We have seen just two without masks and yes, they were nonwhites, but in the promo to the next episodes I have seen SHOCKING thing: white grounder!!! Can you imagine?
According to 2010 census Blacks are 13% of population of the US, so I guess that is why their representation on tv shows is like those 13 %. I have a feeling that every time somebody talks about lack of ethnic minorities in a tv show/film its 90% about lack of black people, I have never seen so many posts about asians, people from South america (I dont know how you call them in US, Hispanics?) or others, its almost always black people who feel so bad about themselves. What about Natives? How many of them have you seen in any show recently? They suffered so much and they have no representation even on stupid tv shows...
Why I talk about blacks? Because you mentioned death of a black person but you had no problem of this sort when other than black was killed. So many whites got killed, Roma-speared to the tree, that white girl that jumped off the cliff and many other white as snow!
You have problem that there are no black in the lead cast? But they are no caucasian everybody, Raven is not, thanks god Bellamy and his sister have no bright blue eyes and demonic blond hair! Then you would be even more bitter...
The point was that the leader of the grounders is also a minority. If you need someone to explain you why that is relevant, you shouldn't try to make an agument you don't completely understand. Oh, dear...
I already hate this conversation but here goes. I stopped watching entirely when they killed Wells. There's a reason most CW shows tend to be about pretty white people with problems and this comes from someone who watches and enjoys several CW shows. Attacking Jordana's perspective or inserting words into the argument that she never said is reductive and counter productive. What some of us see as a problem with these shows isn't that they only kill black people or that they don't represent any other races, it's that we watch these shows hoping to find characters we can identify with and race is one of the factors that affects how viewers relate to characters. The show started off with what appeared to be a diverse cast but slowly that diversity is being whittled down and with it some of the viewers, such as myself, are turning away. It doesn't mean the show is terrible or innately racist but it is a disappointment to someone who enjoys genre television but looks for characters they can relate to when they attempt to fully engage with a show.
Also let's try to avoid phrases like "r u people really that stupid" and insinuating things like we view white people with blonde hair as demonic or television casting accurately reflects census data. If we're going to have intelligent conversations about race and media then let's have them intelligently, otherwise Euphemia is right and these conversations are worthless. Although, as someone who watches Arrow live every week, using Diggle as an example of a well-utilized character is just wrong. No one in that show knows how to utilize him, and his ability to show his strength in his standalone episodes just demonstrates how wasted he is the majority of the time.
But the point that was being originally made was that all the grounders were non-white or masked. That's a a technique that the CW uses because they think viewers will affiliate with them less if they are not white or if you can't see their face. I'm not sure what point you are making.
Now your POV I get, wether we like to admit it or not race plays a big part or wether you identify with a character or not, color people will find it hard to feel identified with non-white characters, and the same goes for white people. We're hipocrits in that regard, but it has more to do with the perception we have of ourselves tan anything else. Now, I don't think anyone is attacking Jordana for her opinions, what bothers people (me ncluded) is that she cherry picks what's racist and what's not, what's diversity and what isn't. That's at least my problem with her comments. Racism goes both ways,
so you have too much free time or its just your thing to read comments about a show that you stopped watching weeks ago? Even if that theory about CW shows is right than whats wrong about? If they want to make shows mostly about whites and there are people who like to watch those shows whats wrong about it? Lets call them racist tv. Is it good to force non racist behavior on them and make them cast more people of other races? Forced tolerance and fake tolerance is worse than open racism in my opinion. I still dont think CW is like you see them. Maybe thi network is targeting white audience and they feel its better to cast mostly whites? El Rey is targeting latino viewers, is that wrong? At least CW does not make their black characters bad guys or criminals. They are mostly good, like Wells was, he was really good friend, devoted.
You wrote that "it's that we watch these shows hoping to find characters we can identify with and race is one of the factors that affects how viewers relate to characters." You should speak for yourself, I dont know who are those "we" you spoke of? Black viewers or viewers in general? I dont look for a cast member who is white, I look for charismatic guy/woman regardless their f***ing skin color. What made me write all those comments is the fact that some people seem to look for racism everywhere blaming it for their own life failures...
p.s. there is more characters in Arrow that the writers have no idea what to do with...All white guy played by colton haynes is one of them. I know who is supposed to be but from the point this character was introduced he did nothing but make stupid angry face expressions. But of course you mentioned Diggle and you think they have no interesting story for him because of his skin color...
One of the things that surprised me, is that they didn't try to make the ark more aracial. I mean, I know 100 years isn't that long, in the great schemes of things, but I would've thought there would be a greater mix of races, unless it was purpusly kept that way, for diversability and all. BTW, people from South America (Latin America) are usually reffered of as Latinos. Hispanics would also work, but Brazilians wouldn't take kindly to it, since they are not of hispanic descendance. But beware with the term, some people may find it derogative. As a Latino I don't, but that may be because I'm Argentinian and that's where I live, while inmigrants may be more sensitive to the issue. It's always complicated, you never know how people will take it.
there were 12 stations that made one big stations, do we know what countries they represented? Japan, India, but probably most of the 12 were white countries, but look at those people, its hard to find light skinned ones, blondes with blue eyes, Bellamy and his sister have dark complexion and black hair. Its a mix. I just feel like in real life people should feel worse because they have light skin...the pressure of tolerating EVERYTHING. You must always think before saying things because somebody may feel insulted.
I don't know, I just don't see the mix of races, not really. I mean, I see people that look from different nationalities, but not a mix within them. But that's ok, like I said it's not like they've been there for 500 years. A hundred years is what? four generations? not enough to make them aracial, specially if they stayed within the limits of their originary station. And you have a point there, but we'll probably get flamed for even sugesting it.
Actually, her point was that the show is racist because it kills black people, and the rest of us are trying to explain to her that there are other minorities, so it's not because racism doesn't only apply to colour people. That as a caucasian I could argue that most of the people they killed has been white, so they're discriminating white people, Or as a Latino, that there aren't enough Latinos in the mix. Truth is if you look everywhere for racism and discrimination, you will find it. But you at least have to aknowlege that by sugesting it's allright for them to kill white people, you're also being a racist.
As someone who also grew up in South America I don't think Latino is a race. You can have Latinos of European, African, Asian or Indigenous ancestry. Which means that you can have white, Black or Asian Latinos, etc. etc. Right? So which Latinos are you referring to specifically? There are a lot of white actors on TV who also consider themselves Latino. Black actors too.
I've read all of her posts, who are conveniently now under the name Guest too, and I've read the answers of those that have been exchanging comments with her. Truth is you cannot spew the word racism around on a show that has shown more diversity than all other CW shows together. Yes I would've kept Wells around because he was the only black "lead" character on the ground, but many have been killed not just black people. And her first comment was highly racist to white people, which what everyone reacted to.
Latino is not a race. As I said to gladius who asked if South Americans could be called Hispanic, it could be done, but some, as the Brazillian, may not like it because they're not of Hispanic descendance, so calling everyone from Latin America a Latino simplifies things. I'm a Latino from Austriac ancestry, so yes that means I'm a white latino, I'm blonde and I have green eyes, but that doesn't make me any less of Latino because I am from Latin America. Black is also not a race though, is a way to adress a demograpich population, same as Latinos. It's nice though that you know the difference, because most people picture latinos as mexicans, when in reality all of america was populated mostly by immigrants, so we're really a stew of just about everything, LOL.
And where is the answer to what I said there? I mean you have an opinion, right? And why do you even care? I'm not saying anything to you, since you obviously don't have an opinion of your own...
Hey Eric...I just wanted to thank you for your response and to let you know that it was appreciated on my end. While I would have loved to continue responding to some comments (especially the one made in response to you), I could tell that this discussion would go nowhere and would only continue to escalate. It also wasn't my intention to change by posts to "guest", which often makes people think "troll".....I just kept getting so many distracting responses at work that I deleted my entire discus account (i know...a bit rash but I had a lot of work to do!) so that I wouldn't be tempted to respond. It definitely worked, but now all of my posts are switched to guest, LOL. But thank you. I would have IM'd you personally but I have no clue how to do this!! Best regards

ReplyDeleteI love that "go float yourself" is an insult, but I can't figure out whether it's supposed to stand for "kill yourself" or "go fuck yourself". LOL.

ReplyDeleteAnother amazing episode! I'm addicted. I didn't even realize until it was over that we didn't see the ark at all.
ReplyDeleteClarke, Raven, Jasper, Monty, Octavia, and Finn were all awesome in this episode. They're all badass.
I still don't believe Abby is dead! They won't kill a main character off screen like that.
I'm glad Octavia and Lincoln are down for now. It's about time she gets a storyline that's not about her love interest of the week.
Another great episode. I missed the ark, although there was hardly time to miss it at all.

It's not like the leader of the Ark is a black man and the grounders leader is a white woman...oh wait.
ReplyDeleteI love how some people are always looking for racism everywhere even when there isn't. This show has killed off plenty of white people too.
And both Raven and Monty are minorities but I guess you are one of those people who only think black people are minorities.

Also I love how this show connects things that have happened in the past with the present. Murphy didn't get over what Connor did and I'm sure Clarke and Bellamy are next.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Raven broke up with Finn but now he is going to get stuck with Clarke and his scenes with either of them always suck.
Well, that's because it's only recism when it comes to colour people, didn't you know? LOL.
ReplyDeleteSomeone was trying to make the exact same argument when Wells died, as if this showed hadn't kill off plenty of caucasians... Some people will never change...
The 100 was awesome, great moments, solid character development (maybe the best moments from the cast of the show right now) and great plot.
ReplyDelete"Her love interest of the week", well said!!
ReplyDeleteThe leader of the grounders is Asian. That's my point! You're an idiot
ReplyDeleteThat's because some things will never changed.
ReplyDeleteI bet that thing that crashed was part of the station that got destroyed when the rebelled station members decided to take one of the ships for themselves.
ReplyDeleteand how many white guys got infected and died this episode? R U people really that stupid that you have to look for hidden racism everywhere? Much more whites got killed in this show than nonwhites...Oh my god, black boy got killed, end of the world. Get over yourself.
ReplyDeleteAnd we saw just how many grounders without masks? 2?
ReplyDeleteIts like a black guy cannot be racist.
ReplyDeleteBTW, there is no need to be rude and respond with ridiculous hyperboles.
ReplyDeleteIt's worthless discussing with someone like her. Jaha, Monty and Raven are part of the main cast and the actor who plays Jaha is one of the best paid actors if not the best.
ReplyDeleteSome people will find racism where there isn't. This show has killed plenty of white people.
Then write to the CW or stop watching their shows. If you want to see some change do something. Whining in a comment section won't change anything.
ReplyDeleteThe CW has been the only network to have an Asian woman as a lead character.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that if vast majority of the 100 (the prisoners) were black or other than caucasian, you would be like: "why almost everybody in the prison part of the station nonwhite? Its racist, not all black are cryminals!". Some people are just hard to please...
ReplyDeleteDo we even know what year it is on the show?
Yeah, I dont get it at all.
ReplyDeleteThe point was that the leader of the grounders is also a minority. If you need someone to explain you why that is relevant, you shouldn't try to make an agument you don't completely understand. Oh, dear...
ReplyDeleteI already hate this conversation but here goes.
ReplyDeleteAlso let's try to avoid phrases like "r u people really that stupid" and insinuating things like we view white people with blonde hair as demonic or television casting accurately reflects census data.
ReplyDeleteNow your POV I get, wether we like to admit it or not race plays a big part or wether you identify with a character or not, color people will find it hard to feel identified with non-white characters, and the same goes for white people. We're hipocrits in that regard, but it has more to do with the perception we have of ourselves tan anything else.
ReplyDeleteNow, I don't think anyone is attacking Jordana for her opinions, what bothers people (me ncluded) is that she cherry picks what's racist and what's not, what's diversity and what isn't.
ReplyDeleteYou wrote that "it's that we watch these shows hoping to find characters we can identify
with and race is one of the factors that affects how viewers relate to
characters." You should speak for yourself, I dont know who are those "we" you spoke of?
ReplyDeleteBTW, people from South America (Latin America) are usually reffered of as Latinos.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I just don't see the mix of races, not really. I mean, I see people that look from different nationalities, but not a mix within them. But that's ok, like I said it's not like they've been there for 500 years. A hundred years is what? four generations? not enough to make them aracial, specially if they stayed within the limits of their originary station.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have a point there, but we'll probably get flamed for even sugesting it.
Wasn't that Jordana's point?
ReplyDeleteI don't think she implied any of those things. You're jumping to a lot of conclusions.
ReplyDeleteActually, her point was that the show is racist because it kills black people, and the rest of us are trying to explain to her that there are other minorities, so it's not because racism doesn't only apply to colour people.
ReplyDeleteI think you should read her post again. That's not what I got from it. But maybe you're some kind of internet Mentalist.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who also grew up in South America I don't think Latino is a race. You can have Latinos of European, African, Asian or Indigenous ancestry. Which means that you can have white, Black or Asian Latinos, etc. etc. Right? So which Latinos are you referring to specifically? There are a lot of white actors on TV who also consider themselves Latino. Black actors too.
ReplyDeleteI've read all of her posts, who are conveniently now under the name Guest too, and I've read the answers of those that have been exchanging comments with her. Truth is you cannot spew the word racism around on a show that has shown more diversity than all other CW shows together. Yes I would've kept Wells around because he was the only black "lead" character on the ground, but many have been killed not just black people. And her first comment was highly racist to white people, which what everyone reacted to.
ReplyDeleteThe mentalist at work again.
ReplyDeleteLatino is not a race.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice though that you know the difference, because most people picture latinos as mexicans, when in reality all of america was populated mostly by immigrants, so we're really a stew of just about everything, LOL.
And where is the answer to what I said there? I mean you have an opinion, right? And why do you even care? I'm not saying anything to you, since you obviously don't have an opinion of your own...
ReplyDeleteHey Eric...I just wanted to thank you for your response and to let you know that it was appreciated on my end.
