Galyntine - Catherine Dent cast as Series Regular

The Shield alumna Catherine Dent has become the first series regular cast in AMC drama pilot Galyntine. Written by Jason Cahill, directed by David Mackenzie and executive produced by Scott Free and The Walking Dead‘s Greg Nicotero, the fantasy-action adventure with hints of sci-fi is set in a postapocalyptic future without technology where a band of survivors is forced to adapt to isolation and the challenges of their new world. Dent, repped by SDB Partners and manager Harris Spylios, will play one of the survivors, Haven, who lived through the global disaster with her two kids.

Stitchers - Felix Gomez cast as Series Regular

Spanish actor Felix Gomez has landed a series regular role on ABC Family drama pilot Stitchers. Written by Jeffrey A. Schechter (Overruled), Stitchers follows a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Gomez, repped by SDB Partners and Symington Talent Management, will play college professor Dr. Jerome Smallwood, who teaches a grad course in computer science, in which Kirsten and her roommate, Camille, are students. Smallwood is smart and good at his job, but he’s no match for Kirsten, who can out-hack him and out-think him.

Written by Bert V. Royal and Karen DiConcetto, the project centers on party girl high school student Maddie Graham (Logan), who spends her nights at a rehab facility. Sunshine, repped by Innovative Artists and Hirsch Wallerstein, will play Emily Owenby, Maddie’s best friend since childhood who’s becoming increasingly concerned about Maddie’s partying.

Stitchers and iZombie sound alike. I'm talking about the retrieve-memories-of-the-dead thing.

  2. Galyntine sounds interesting, can't go wrong with 'post-apocalyptic' or Catherine Dent. :)

  3. It sounds pretty much like The 100.

  4. Accept that it will be on AMC and thus cater to grown-ups and political complexities a little more.

It also sounds a tad bit like Revolution too, but without the nanites, although they do say there is some element of science fiction, and thus there must be something a little advanced...

  5. Thanks for posting this news. I've been eagerly awaiting news on Galyntine, since i first heard about it last year. It's been awhile since i heard anything. I beginning to fear the idea got scrapped.

  6. Disagree, the main character for example has lived through whatever disaster struck the world. If anything it sounds more like Revolution, with the whole 'world without technology' scenario.

    Also see @DarthLocke4's comment. :)
