NBC just picked them up.

State of Affairs centers on a key CIA attaché (played by Grey’s Anatomy alum Heigl) who counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world. She balances her intense political responsibilities with a complicated personal life. The cast also includes Adam Kaufman (Without a Trace), Sheila Vand (Cult), Cliff Chamberlain (The Mob Doctor), Tommy Savas (Hollywood Heights) and Leslie Odom, Jr. (Smash).

Odyssey centers on Fall TV Series Odyssey NBCthree families whose lives are torn apart when a stranded female soldier (Pushing Daisies‘ Anna Friel, pictured), a disillusioned corporate attorney (Peter Facinelli, Nurse Jackie) and a disrespected political activist (Jake Robinson, The Carrie Diaries) are pulled into the same shocking international military conspiracy. The cast also includes Jim True-Frost, Treat Williams, Nate Mooney, Elena Kampouris, Daniella Pineda, Sadie Sink, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Omar Ghazaoui.

Off topic, but has any network ever done a series based around The Odyssey (The Greek myth/Epic poem)? It'd never have to be a perfect retelling, though there's certainly enough material. It could even been done as an anthology. One season is Odysseus's journey, another could be the Trojan War, the aftermath with Agamemnon, etc.

  6. Definitely interested in watching State of Affairs.

  7. That would be epic, I can only imagine Starz or HBO tackling it.

  8. Need to see footage of these before I commit, they could be interesting or completely bland network dramas.

  9. They did it in Europe last year. It was called "Odysseys" and it dealt with Ulysses' return to Ithaca. It was a French-German-Italian-Portuguese and it was pretty good. It only produced one season, tho-
You should check it out if you don't mind subtitles, I don't think it was dubbed in english.

  10. I'm going to check out Odyssey, but I need to see some previews before I commit.

If done right it could be very much like "the season of Revenge everyone is pretending never happened but I actually really liked".

  11. These sound potentially pretty great but am I the only one who feels NBC is really hoping these will be the next Blacklist? All the pilots they picked up today are the ones they have that sound based on the logline like they could promote it as the next Blacklist but maybe that's just me. I'm really hoping they will pick up some of their more unique sounding shows as well. They are the ones with Salvation, right? Not sure it'd be my thing but something that might be interesting to see on broadcast. And of course I'm rooting for their genre pilots like Constantine, Mysteries of Laura ...

I did a quick search on my normal haunts and couldn't find even a reference to it. Is it possible the title is in another language?

Yeah. I remember a miniseries back years ago that I thought was awful. All things considered it could be very good.

This is Arte's website (the French broadcaster): http://www.arte.tv/fr/odysseus/7516300.html
