SpoilerTV - TV Spoilers

All Comments from Non-Verified Accounts will be moderated

Hey All,

As SpoilerTV has grown over the years, like most sites, we get our fair share of Spam and Trolls and other generally unpleasant folk :)

We catch 99% of these but occasionally a few get through.

In order to improve the quality of the comments and to ensure that everyone's experience is a good one, we have today turned on extra levels of protection. The main part of this is that only Disqus Accounts with a verified email will be guaranteed to have their comments posted immediately. Non-Verified Accounts might see a delay in their comments being posted.

95% of people on SpoilerTV have already verified their accounts but there are still a few of you who have not.

Now, you don't need to Verify your email through Disqus, however if you do it will provide some benefits.

Why is verification important?

1) No impersonators - Verifying your email prevents others from using your email address when posting on sites using Disqus Comments.

2) Your comments won't get stuck - With a verified profile, your comments will be less likely to get stuck in moderation or in the spam filter.

3) Access to more sites - Many sites using Disqus Comments require a verified profile to comment. By verifying once, you'll be able to join more communities more quickly and more easily.

Note: All comments that contain links will now be moderated to protect our readers.

You can Verify your Email with Disqus here http://disqus.com/verify/

As mentioned you don't need to do this, but if you don't your comments may get stuck in the moderation queue longer. Verified Accounts will have comments posted immediately.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate in asking below in the comments or you can contact Disqus directly here.

  1. Well that was painless :)

  2. That took about two seconds.

  3. Cool,It was already verified by the time i got there!

  4. It just couldn't have been more easy :)

  5. I need the "That was easy" button for this

  6. Thanks for keeping us safe!

    Same here :)

  9. Apparently I was already verified. Who knew.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I verify my account immediately whenever I register for anything... are you telling me that's not normal? Hahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Same, but good to know! :)

Now I can switch my username.

  13. Verified! Nice! Avoiding spammers is always a good thing.

  14. Good Initiative

  15. Just found out my email already was verified.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Aha, now I see why my comments kept needing to be moderated before being posted...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks for the info.! That was very helpful, and easy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. have already done it some time ago :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Super, maybe I will stop being viewed as a guest, so many times I have to sign in before I comment to be me. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  20. That sound more like an issue with your browser/cookies not being remembered. How do you normally sign into disqus? Google/Twitter/Facebook or Disqus Account?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Disqus, but the strange thing is, I can be commenting on several things on the same page and all of a sudden I have to sign in again. It is easy to do, just wondered if anyone else has this problem.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hmm, strange. I can't recall the last time I had to log into disqus lol.
I would suggest contact their excellent support teams http://disqus.com/support/

They might be able to better help you stay logged in.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks will send them an email.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Shouldn't the fact I signed in via my twitter be verification enough? Seriously I am SICK of companies going "give us more of your personal info...or you cant be here fully". I suppose you didn't ask for my cell number like 3/4 of the sites do at least. But still.
    No thanks Spoiler TV.
An account created thru a twitter acct IMO is "verified" in my opinion.
Guess I'll be here less often unfortunately.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So long ago, that also had forgotten that Verification already was commenced,

    ReplyDelete
  26. FYI: I did send them an email, and got nothing and am still having to sign in usually once or twice a day.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Does anyone else get a pop up asking you to sign and gives you several choices or just be a guest? This is after commenting several times on the same article.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I've no idea sorry. I can't recall every having to re-login to disqus. I can only think some addon/extension/utility/setting is clearing your cookies/cache each time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. If it was every time I could try and track the problem down, but it may not happen but once a day and that is not the first time I go to comment. Like I said not hard to sign back in, just really weird.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Very odd. I wish I could offer more advice. Maybe keep trying to email disqus.

  31. my Aunty
Allison recently got a nice 6 month old Jaguar by working from a macbook.this website Cashfig.COM

    ReplyDelete
  32. Same thing happens to me. There are times when i can go for weeks at a time without any problem then all of a sudden it can happen a few times a day or few times a week.

    ReplyDelete
  33. So if we have a verified email our messages won't be moderated even if they contain links?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Do you have "Delete browsing history on exit" set to true in your Internet Options? That could do what you're describing, but it would do it every time you kill your browser...not just once in a while. Your anti-virus program could also automatically be deleting cookies after each scan.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Comments are getting removed even old ones.

    ReplyDelete
  36. They were deleted because you posted about 50 comments about Arrow on a Melissa and Joey thread. Off top comments will be removed.

    ReplyDelete
  37. ok but earlier my comment on "2014 Character Cup - 1D" was removed, why? there was nothing against the rules in it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. No comments have been removed from that thread. Must have been a glitch with disqus

    ReplyDelete
  39. All comments that contain links will now be moderated to protect our readers

    ReplyDelete
  40. You only need to click a link that is emailed to you, simple as that. Who is asking for personal info?

    ReplyDelete
  41. But it also says up top "We STRONGLY suggest that you Please Verify your Email with Disqus so that your comments will not be moderated."

    ReplyDelete
  42. guess you missed the part where I
1- said that I already logged in via twitter, isn't that verified enough and
2- asking for my email address IS asking for more info.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This site has been getting better and better every year. Thanks for the extra security!

    ReplyDelete
  44. i keep trying but i never receive the email!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi @Krista McInturff Are you sure that the email address you registered in Disqus is valid?

Drop me an email at darkufo@spoilertv.com and we'll take a look.

    ReplyDelete
  46. thanks i double checked and it had a letter wrong. have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ah cool, glad you got it sorted!
