NCIS - Episode 11.23 - The Admiral's Daughter - Review: La femme fatale

Bonjour! La dernière épisode de NCIS était un épisode très amusante. Dans cet épisode, l'agent DiNozzo est allé en France pour ramasser la fille d'un admiral américain. Malheuresement, la mission ne se passait pas comme prévu.

Okay, let's get back to English already. How did I do? I've had multiple French lessons in secondary school but it's been a year since I left so it might not be my best French ever.

Anyway, back to my NCIS review. As I wrote above in French, it was a really nice episode in which DiNozzo went to France to bring home the daughter of a Navy Admiral. However, things don't go according to plan.

Tony's secret mission starts with Vance telling him everything he needs to know about Amanda, the admiral's daughter. She appears to be a wild party animal who has gotten loose from the grip of her father. Tony's job is very simple: pick her up at the NCIS office in Marseille and get on the first plane back to the US. However, Tony stumbles upon five bodies at the office and is subsequently arrested by French police who just arrived at the crime scene. He is soon released by Officer Gérard and Inspector Isabelle, but the French police see Amanda as a suspect in the case. So when Tony tracks her down to one of the bars she has been frequently visiting, Isabelle and Gérard follow Tony. But in a shocking twist, Isabelle shoots Gérard and gets ready to shoot Amanda as well, but she is hindered by people from the bar who come out after hearing the gunshot.

Meanwhile, in D.C. the team investigates the death of a man found in a tank. Unsurprisingly, the death is connected to the events in France, as the dead guy is someone Amanda went to school with. In France, la femme fatale Isabelle frames Tony for the murders at the NCIS office so Tony and Amanda are now wanted fugutives. Tony decides it is best to get to the NCIS office in Rota (you know, where Tony would have gone to if he'd taken that job offer back in season 4). Though she is reluctant to leave Marseille, Amanda arranges a party bus with several of her friends to get her and Tony to Spain. Midway the journey, the bus starts smoking and Tony and Amanda are forced to run because of the arriving police and firemen. Later, Tony confronts Amanda and tells her he knows that she started the fire. Tony also discovered her friend Amir, who is the reason Amanda did not want to leave Marseille, is in fact a spy and tells her that everywhere she goes, bodies show up (making her la femme fatale). However, Amanda reveals that she is a spy - for the US government!

Turns out Amanda is working for the Defense Clandestine Service (DCS), and her friend Amir in turn worked for her. He copied files from Iranian intelligence which Amanda sent to her handler AKA the dead guy in the tank. The Iranians had him killed and are now after Amanda and Amir. That is the reason Amanda doesn't want to leave France, because it would mean she leaves Amir behind. So Tony calls Gibbs and sets a trap for Isabelle in order to find Amir. Tony and Amanda find him with one of Amanda's friends, but she turns out to be working for the Iranians. As Tony and Amanda are being held at gunpoint by her and Isabelle, marksmen storm in and save Amir, Amanda and Tony. Amanda's friends attempts a last escape attempt but Tony shoots her. They all head back to the US where Amanda is reunited with her father. Also, Palmer gets a cryptic message from Breena, which Tony helps to unsolve: Breena is pregnant!

This was absolutely a great episode. It was definitely one of the best episodes of the season. There was humour, there was action and there were unexpected twists and, of course, there was Tony! This was a great Tony-centric episode. And I'm so happy Palmer is going to be a father! At least I hope he is because you never know with this show. But Palmer deserves to be happy after the events in episode 17, right?

What did you think of this episode? Did you see the twists coming? Do you agree that it was one of the best episodes of the season, or did you not like that much?

Merci pour lire ma recension! Au revior! (Thanks for reading my review! See you!)

Below is the promo for the season finale, airing this Tuesday at 8/7c. Don't forget the tissues, as it seems that it's gonna be an emotional farewell to Daddy Gibbs and his portrayer Ralph Waite.
