Loved the older movies and tv shows and see no need for this to be rebooted. As of right now I'm not even interested but we'll see what happens when these new films start coming out. Maybe I'll be interested then.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that went through my mind was this.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba0chf_WCfU
why not just continue with where the old movies left off the third stargate sgi movie and stargate atlantis movie that never got made?
ReplyDeleteApparently the reason for this is because the original team behind the movie weren't fans of the TV show. It was intended to be a trilogy of movies but MGM got greedy and followed it up with a TV show (that differed from their original vision) instead.
ReplyDeleteThis is meant to be closer to the original vision that they intended.
Devlin and Emmerich apparently weren't fans of the TV show. Their original concept was for a trilogy of movies but MGM had their own plans. This is meant to be closer to their original vision.
ReplyDeleteSo this is just a remake of the original Stargate movie? Why can't they make the Stargate Atlantis movie instead?
ReplyDeleteOh Roland; I mean, it's your prerogative and all, but we all know It will be just like another of your movies.
ReplyDeleteI want a new setting in time or place Stargate series while your at it too.
ReplyDeleteHoly Testicle!
ReplyDeleteI loved the concept of Aliens masquerading as Gods (based on the whole high science = magic effect). So I really got into the TV show.
This could be done well. If they are redoing the original Stargate movie it will be interesting to see what they come up with.
This has me excited.
So this would be a remake of the original movie? I could never get on borad with the tv show except for Stargate Universe, so I like the idea. Will have to read the novel, it's there on my bookshelf since it was my mom's but I never got around reading it.
ReplyDeleteDo NOT tell me this is a bizarre joke. I will be on cloud 9 if stargate is getting a real reboot.
ReplyDeleteI'll give it a chance. I just hope it's actually good.
ReplyDeleteOh got no please ... I don't need a reboot of Stargate without m Stargate peopel from SG1 & Co.
ReplyDeleteIf this is a reboot then they would just ruined everything.
ReplyDeleteIt's a reboot, meant to be closer to the original vision.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info, but i'm most likely to not watch it. After all to me the movies and the series were done amazingly well and we don't need new casting to make another movie. And not to mention all of the fans know the team as they are in the movie and in the series.
ReplyDeletemeh. I kinda like the idea. As a concept its got so many possibilities.
ReplyDeleteId like to see what Devlins visions is.
If your curious, Bill McCay turned the concepts for the 2nd and 3rd movie into a series of 5 novels. He wrote them using all the information Devlin and Emmerich had currently written.
ReplyDeleteYES!!!! As a Stargate fan this has been a long time coming, but a reboot is still better than nothing. Devlin and co should be greatful though, if it wasn't for the three series that CONTINUED thier legacy for 20+ years this reboot never would have happened
ReplyDeleteSo freaking excited!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Ill check them out. Do you think that Devlin and Emmerich will turn Devlin's earlier works into the new reboot movies.. or will they restart it out?
ReplyDeleteI'm beyond excited for this! While i'll never get over the cancellation of the TV shows and never forget them i'm just glad Stargate is coming back :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to feel about this, I'll wait and see how this develops.
ReplyDeleteYes! I loved the TV series , and the movies.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! The TV series were a pale shadow of the original movie, with the possible exception of the first 2 seasons of Atlantis. In the absence of a John Carter of Mars sequel, this I look forward to.
ReplyDeleteShit just got real
ReplyDeleteloved both the movie and the tv series and would've liked to see a continuance from any of the series' plots, but I will keep an open mind and see where the creators of the original film's vision will go
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer a new Stargate TV series.
