MOVIES: Marvel has had a meeting with 'The Middle' star Eden Sher and possibly others

An unconfirmed report also suggests that Marvel has been meeting with other stars as of last week.

We can exclusively report that Zac Efron is being looked at for unspecified role in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. He was given a script for the project just recently and currently no one knows which part is actually in play. The only one that knows that answer is his Manager and he will not comment on it.

Could Efron be the flagship casting for Marvel’s move into a massive four-series Netflix push as “Daredevil?”

  1. Wait, what? Is she being considered for a role too or is she just there to talk about her show and pick up some free comics?
That aside, she could totally play Amy Farrah Fowler's younger cousin.

  2. They do look alike!

Hasn't been confirmed if she's up for a role. But the last time Marvel publicly revealed they were talking to someone we got Vin Diesel as Groot so it's possible she's up for a role.

Of course something weird could be happening too. Marvel publishing a comic about 'The Middle' perhaps? Stranger things have happened.

My theories (if this was for a movie/series and not just Eden visiting):

Cassie Lang - The second Ant-Man (Scott Lang) stole the Ant-Man suit to rescue a doctor to save his daughters life. If Cassie only makes a few small appearances (at the start and end) then Eden could probably fit it in with 'The Middle' filming.

Ms. Marvel - Eden references Ms. Marvel in her tweets + Marvel has been trying to get a Ms. Marvel film off the ground. The question is...which Ms. Marvel do they use? Carol Danvers is the most known Ms. Marvel. But the current Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan.

Jessica Jones - Well we know she's coming on Netflix. Perhaps Marvel started casting early?

Karen Page - Daredevil's love interest. Depending on the story it doesn't need to be a big role, so she might be able to fit it in.

  5. If they do a Ms. Marvel film then I really hope they focus it on Carol Danvers and she operates under the name Warbird instead.

  6. Casting Zac Efron in anything from Marvel is a good way to get me to instantly renounce the entire project, whatever it may be.

  7. I chose to ignore this information. I am kinda "lalalalalalala" in my brain right now. Send him to DC comics, they are currently on a bad casting trend.

  8. I'm not entirely sure wether Marvel should be all up in projects already, Remember Guardians of the Galaxy could be a gallactical failure. Not because of its quality but rather because of the way the genre is recieved nowadays

  9. Would be a better Spider-Man than Andrew Garfield :)

  10. I don't think Marvel Studios is even worried. IF GotG becomes a failure, it won't hurt Marvel Studios that badly simply because they can go back to the characters that even the GA are aware of.

I'm still waiting for another Hulk movie!

  11. Bad casting trend?

Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Heisenberg, an unknown talent that could be a standout in Ray Fisher…..what's this "bad casting trend"? The ONLY one anyone should actually be cautious about is Gal Gadot, but Marvel Studios has certainly gotten themselves some stinkers in the past.

  12. Not really, lol. ;)

  13. Yes really, lol ;)

  14. 80 lbs added? Must be she-hulk ;)

  15. anyone would be a better Spiderman. I'd rather cast John Goodman, at least he has range

  16. On the upside: if GotG is a success we're one step closer to Planet Hulk <3

Lou Ferrigno confirmed that another Hulk movie is coming, so here's hoping it's indeed Planet Hulk :)

  18. Gal Gadot is just awful, but Bem Affleck as Batman is just wrong for me.

  19. SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!

Oh I want her to get a part so so bad!!!

  20. I mean, real talk, Zac Effron is not a bad actor. Granted, I have seen him in like 2 movies (none of them HSM) so as long he is not miscast, I'm not really worried.

  21. I don't think Zac is worse than Chris Hemsworth, so Marvel is still good.

  22. Although I'm reserving my opinion about Baffleck. Henry Cavill is pretty good in my opinion and I loved Jesse Eisenberg's work in Now You See Me.

Marvel doesn't hold the film rights to the Fantastic Four, so it can't be Johnny Storm.

  24. I'd just wait to see how they are before I say they are awful or they ruin the character for me. One can be cautious on the casting, which why I used the word…but we should wait. I thought Andrew Garfield would be a great Peter Parker/Spider-Man and I though Ryan Reynolds was going to be a great Hal Jordan/Green Lantern simply because of their excitement both of them had about their roles, and then….blah.

  25. Henry Cavill, to me, is perhaps the perfect representation of Superman. Christopher Reeve had that "boy scout" vibe, but that take is old and I have always wanted to see a pure Americana kind of Superman, and Cavill portrayed that perfectly. All that was missing was seeing how his Clark Kent persona is with working at the Daily Planet and I hope he knocks that out of the park in BvS.

    ReplyDelete
  26. And not to mention that Cavill was oozing muscle power and sexiness which BJR didn't have.

  27. I do know Marvel holds the rights as the reboot was confirmed last year, but i have also just been told someone else was already given the johnny storm gig.
Fantastic Four was Marvels flag ship group before the avengers were created, I don't think they would sign away movie rights also considering they have had their own movie division now for years.

Fox owns the film rights to the Fantastic Four. The remake is coming from them.

Marvel sold away the film rights before they had their own film division. Some they have since reacquired but they still don't own the Spider-man film rights, The Fantastic Four film rights and the X-Men film rights.

The only exceptions to the rules are characters that belong to 2 different groups. (Like Wanda and Pietro who are both Mutants and Avengers)

  29. Yeah, of course I have watched it already. Last week. Before it was even shot. And only because of that I am allowed to express how I feel about it. Nobody should ever be allowed to vent a word about how they feel as a fan and speculate about casting until people have watched the movie. No freedom whatsoever to express opinion.

  30. Yeah, I know, but I was kinda disappointed. When I am wrong about some specuation I'm the first to recognize it (I thought Elementary, for example, was going to be awful and now I like it).
I just was looking forward to seeing an amazing WonderWoman again and eager too see a great next batman, and both casting choices were a major disappointment for me. If they prove me wrong, great, I'd love that but I'm skeptical so far.

    ReplyDelete
  31. you have not seen the movie so how do you know the casting is awful.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am entitled to a speculative opinion, aren't I? It is kinda pretty obvious that this is my opinion based on what we have so far: the casting decision.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Opinion yes but your first post about the actors is more of a statement.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I thought it was pretty obvious that since the movies haven't yet been released any statement or observation I make about it and it's casting choices couldn't be anything else other than my own personal opinion and not some critics-based verdict of sorts.

    ReplyDelete
  35. OMG please no Efron as Daredevil, don't think my heart can take that lol
