NBC has picked up its first comedy pilot to series, handing out a series order to Casey Wilson starrer Marry Me.
ix years ago, Annie (Casey Wilson, “Happy Endings”) and Jake (Ken Marino, “Eastbound & Down”) bonded over their mutual love of nachos and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Now, after returning from a romantic two-week island vacation, Jake’s all set to pop the question. Before he can ask, though, Annie lets loose on Jake for his inability to commit. She was expecting him to “put a ring on it” in paradise and now Jake’s perfect proposal is ruined. Not wanting to spend the next 60 years talking about that mess of a proposal, Jake and Annie decide to hold off on the engagement until they can do it right. Yet if history tells us anything, it’s when we really want things to go right that they all tend to go wrong. The only thing we know for sure is these two are destined to be together whether they can get it together or not.

Ooh, I am in for this one! I've been looking forward to it ever since the pilot was announced.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about this! I loved Penny from Happy Endings!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePenny! May this finally be the year of Penny!
ReplyDeleteFantastic cast. Casey Wilson and Ken Marino is both funny actors, and network-TV is casting too much unfunny people in pilots.
ReplyDeleteThey had me at Ken Marino.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I am so pleased that the Happy Endings cast is finding work. Casey Wilson has her show here, Adam Pally is on the Mindy Project, Damon Wayans Jr is on New Girl, and Eliza Coupe has an upcoming show called Benched on USA. Zachary Knighton's Fox pilot Weird Loners has been ordered to series. Now NBC just has to pick up Elisha Cuthbert's pilot One Big Happy to finish the set!
ReplyDeleteI've been rewatching old Happy Endings episodes all week before bed... and now I get this piece of news. Effin' fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteBy the creator of "Happy Endings" ? This is AH-MAH-ZING. I'm in !
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this one!
ReplyDeleteit's totally possible that we see all of them on tv in the 2014-2015 tv season which would be cool. they're a good cast so they deserve all the success.
ReplyDeleteYes! So happy for David Caspe and Casey Wilson! Will definitely watch this.
ReplyDeleteI like the cast, but it is a NBC comedy, something that hasn't worked during the last years.
ReplyDeleteCome on NBC, A to Z next.
ReplyDeleteHappy for Casey Wilson she is so talented, hope this is a good NBC comedy and not one of their dire ones.
