TNT's Top 10 Drama Series Major Crimes Returns This Summer As Exceptional Ensemble Tackles Complex Cases

Season 3 of Hit Drama Set to Launch Monday, June 9, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)

Television’s favorite squad of detectives is on the case in Major Crimes, TNT’s powerful crime-drama that ranks as one of basic cable’s Top 10 series. The elite team is back, headed by Oscar® and Emmy® nominee Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Kearran Giovanni, Graham Patrick Martin and Jonathan Del Arco with Robert Gossett. Major Crimes is set to launch its third season on Monday, June 9, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). It will be followed by the debut of TNT's brand new crime-drama Murder in the First.

TNT's Major Crimes launched in 2012 and finished its first season ranking as basic cable's #1 new series of the year. In 2013, the drama was one of basic cable's Top 10 series of the year, averaging 6.8 million viewers for its second season. Among key demos, Major Crimes drew more than 2.1 million adults 25-54 and 1.6 million adults 18-49 in season two.

Major Crimes explores how the American justice system approaches the art of the deals as law enforcement officers and prosecutors work together to score a conviction. In the series, McDonnell stars as Los Angeles Police Captain Sharon Raydor, who heads up a special squad within the LAPD that deals with high-profile or particularly sensitive crimes. Her team of investigators includes G.W. Bailey as Lieutenant Provenza, Tony Denison as Lieutenant Andy Flynn, Michael Paul Chan as Lieutenant Mike Tao, Raymond Cruz as Detective Julio Sanchez, Kearran Giovanni as Detective Amy Sykes and Phillip P. Keene as tech expert Buzz Watson. Robert Gossett plays Assistant Chief Russell Taylor, Raydor's boss, while Jonathan Del Arco plays Dr. Morales, the medical examiner. And Graham Patrick Martin is Rusty Beck, a formerly homeless teen who has been taken in by Raydor.

In addition to the main cast, Major Crimes also features recurring appearances by Jon Tenney as Agent Fritz Howard, Ransford Doherty as Coroner’s Investigator Kendall, Kathe Mazur as DDA Andrea Hobbs, Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Lt. Chuck Cooper and Bill Brochtrup as Rusty's therapist, Dr. Joe Bowman. Also set to return this season is guest star Tom Berenger as Jack Raydor, Capt. Raydor's estranged husband.

This season on Major Crimes, the squad will be called upon to investigate the disappearance of two kids and their father, the death of the defendant in a rape trial and a complex case involving arranged marriages and diplomatic immunity. In addition, one of Sanchez's old cases will resurface when it turns out a man he put away for manslaughter might be innocent. And Provenza and Flynn will be drawn to a ritzy estate to investigate the murder of a dog, but they're going to have to solve the case with unwanted help from an amateur sleuth they've encountered before.

On the home front, Sharon Raydor tries helping Rusty put his turbulent past behind him, a goal made far more difficult when a member of the young man’s biological family returns, threatening Rusty’s hard won stability.
Created by James Duff, Major Crimes is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company and Walking Entropy, Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television. Duff, Greer Shephard, Michael M. Robin, Rick Wallace, Adam Belanoff and Leo Geter serve as executive producers.
