I just love the Will-Freddie picture, I love their fraught relationship. And on a shallow note- Alana's dress is gorgeous, love the color. Can't wait for the Jack-Hannibal showdown.
Well that is how I imagine it going, is Hannibal going to be that easy to get? I doubt it, but by the end of S2 everyone should know his true nature and have enough evidence to send him down....now they just need to find him. I could be completely wrong though!
I would like to get to it sooner too, but he needs the time. Lifetime is holding Silence of the Lambs rights because they allegedly want to make a Starling series, so Fuller can not even introduce her until he has those rights...I would assume given what he has done with other characters, that he would want to expand on her also and introduce her before Red Dragon ends.
It's not so much big changes, but an all out expansion. Everything he has done references and alludes to the novels/films in good ways. Every episode this season has allusions to Hannibal and Hannibal Rising with a bit of SOL here and there (and the last episode winked to Red Dragon with that fire-wheel chair scene).
Miriam, Georgia, Alana, all have commonalities with Clarice and by extension Abigail and Margot allude to her too, but through the back shadowing of Mischa, as that is what Clarice represents.
Even season one had that "sinner" episode where the guy was making his victims Angels, including himself and is a wink to both Buffalo Bill (skin transformation) and The Tooth Fairy (staged scene where victims watch over something + religious) at the same time!
If Fuller sticks to his plan, which because of not having SOL rights, he may want to, season four is Red Dragon, which is why I've been saying Will is probably going to have to fend for himself with whomever Jack's replacement is going to be (probably Cynthia Nixon's character), but I'm hoping the end of season 3 is the actual beginning of RD...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I can already tell it's going to be crazy. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteWonder if season 3 will cover Red Dragon
ReplyDeleteI thought the plan was that to be S4, so S3 could be Hannibal on the run
ReplyDeleteThe epic Hannibal/Jack showdown!
ReplyDeleteBryan Fuller said that but I hope he changes his mind and the Red Dragon storyline starts happening in the second half of S3.
ReplyDeleteIt could well do, he has changed things up quite a bit from the book already.

ReplyDeleteAnd Miriam must play some role, as they are in her room!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I didn't even notice. I really hope we get to see Miriam again before the finale or at least hear what happened to her.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe they're stashing Freddie at the same safehouse?

ReplyDeleteReally hope Jack doesn't die. Love the character and Fishburne.
