TVLINE | So Nick slept with Adalind… and didn’t even know it until after?!
GIUNTOLI | It’s the only state-sanctioned way to cheat on your lover: Have someone else embody them. Yes, Adalind turned into Juliette and slept with me, and I did not know the difference – except there was a certain wild, witchy energy that I think Nick maybe liked.
TVLINE | Nick went from being a Super Grimm at the beginning of the season to basically having no powers at the end. Can you tell us about the decision to de-Grimm him?
GREENWALT | We had this idea that, at some point, it would be good for him to lose his powers. Then we thought, “That’s a great way to end the season.” And I like what you were just saying, Kim: He started as a Super Grimm, and you just think he’s going to get Grimm-er, but in fact by the end of the year he’s lost his power. When we began noodling about just how he was going to lose his powers, it became very exciting… We said, “Well, Adalind has his blood in her. What else could she possibly get in her? What if she made herself look like Juliette?” Obviously, there’d be no other way for them to ever do that with Adalind. And then we were on fire. The whole thing became so much fun. It’s almost farce, really. It’s our normal drama/comedy/horror/adventure, but there’s a little bit of farce in this one.
And then we got so excited where Adalind-as-Juliette is driving the captain crazy, sleeping with Nick, doesn’t know who the heck Trubel is and just raises hell – but for a good cause. The nice, new thing that happened toward the end of the season, she wants her baby back. She’s not just being evil; she’s like, “I have to do this to get my baby back, and I’ll go to any lengths to do that.”

That awkward moment where you abruptly recall everything Adalind had to do to get her powers after Nick took them and wonder just what he's going to have to do to become a Grimm again now that she's (nore or less) done the same to him...
ReplyDeleteWas completely disappointed by the season 3 finale. Definitely the worse for the show. The setup for season 4 is quite terrible and going off of this episode, Nick may be without his powers for most of if not all of the season, needing help from Trubel in order to continue dealing with Wesen problems. Also Adalind is still alive (god knows why after everything she has done) and is still out there free and gloating.
ReplyDeleteI've been a big fan of the show since it aired but I feel like the show has taken a huge turn for the worse in terms of writing. I am not even interested in season 4 at this point. I'll keep watching in hopes that I am wrong but the season 4 setup just sounds terrible all around. Also seems indicated that Wu STILL won't find out the truth in season 4. Lame if they tease him finding out a SECOND time only to once again have him NOT learn the truth.
Completely disappointed right now. I don't understand why the show has placed so much of it's story around Adalind. I didn't like her in season one and I sure as hell don't want to see her again in season 4. She's the "Lana Lang" of Grimm.
One reason I hope Constantine will do well for NBC...
ReplyDeleteOh god I hope so. Constantine looks awesome from the trailer. I really hope the show is actually good and survives on NBC.
ReplyDeleteI know same here. I just hope it has more ongoing storylines than Grimm or Supernatural did in their earlier episodes and I'll be obsessed I'm sure haha
ReplyDeleteWhy are you assuming that Wu won't find out? Seem to me like he was doing his math at the end. We'll see next season
ReplyDeleteKinda don't like that he said cheated when it wasn't cheating at all.
ReplyDelete"TVLINE | Does this mean that Trubel is going to be around for the next season?GREENWALT | She’s definitely going to be around for a good part of next season, possibly the whole season."
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!!!!!! Nice one!
Thanks for the interiview. It's going to be a very long wait until season 4! I just hope that NIck's powers are not gone for too long. Trubel was a great cast addition, and I'm happy that she's being made a regular. Hopefully we'll get more Adalind vs. Nick scenes next season. Both characters have a mutual dislike that I find kind of entertaining. Also, I'm hoping Renard isn't dead and they really need to fill Wu in on the whole Wesen thing.
ReplyDeleteThe finale kinda put me off... not so interested in season 4 until I find out what they intend to do with Nick's powers and if Adalind is pregnant or not.
ReplyDeleteThe writers nearly alienated me with the whole Juliette/Renard storyline, now again...
Admire the words coming from the EP saying in Year 5 we will know exactly what they looking for. Mhmm sounds like Season 5 is a sure thing?
ReplyDeleteThe answer is not given. The actor that plays Nick doesn't want Wu to find out. So I think it depends on whether or not the actor gets his wish or not. I guess it's up in the air right now.
ReplyDeleteIf Adalind ends up pregnant AGAIN, I might just be done with this show completely. This show is already on a fast track to becoming the new Desperate Housewives...
ReplyDeleteIt's just a guess but I really hope by the end of the 5th season we will finish out the keys story line and beyond that I hope it's an actual interesting story arc. At this rate, they will find the keys, open the door and find that Adalind has an even more evil twin.... lol so we'll get TWO Adalinds in season 5 (yes I'm just making a joke).
ReplyDeleteThat be funny lol
ReplyDelete''The answer is not given''
ReplyDeleteThat's why it seem strange to me to read your first text and have the feeling you were assuming its was a done deal that Wu won't find out. I'm sorry if I missunderstood you. I saw the part of David saying he likes having someone on the outside, not the first interview he said that, but I tend to give more ''weight'' to the wishes of producers/writers than actors.
Did i totally miss the Zombie Nick Grey Skin, dead look storyline? They just never bothered to resolve it?
ReplyDeleteNo the story was just randomly dropped for no reason at all.
ReplyDeleteThey took one hell of a bet with that move, considering Nick has never been developed properly outside of his Grimm abilities. Nick can barely carry the show with his powers, but now without them...
ReplyDeleteAlso, the Nick/Juliette scene in the car was just... I don't know what it was, but that was not *it* at all. From the lines to the delivery, everything was a FAIL.
The final was just tepid. Where's the excitement? The entertainment?
CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 4!!!!! I hope in season 4 victor kills adalind when she shows up to get her baby, or he locks her up in a dungeon, idk but something worse other then losing her baby needs to happen to her for all the trouble she has caused. I am a little upset with the whole adalind turning into Juliette thing because it sounded to much like a rip off from a soap opera, but some people like that stuff I guess. But other than that I want to know if the captain lives, and if nicks mom will reappear to help her son, and I can't wait to see how much more trubel is gonna grow as a grimm. So I hope these next few months go by quick so I can see Grimm season 4 :)
