    what the hell is this future you're trying to save kiera, and was she going to have her citizenship removed, what does that even mean anyway

    From what has been revealed in previous episodes it would appear that if citizens are unable to repay their "life debt," they are enslaved by the corporations. I would imagine that by the 2070's their ciztenship is removed rendering them "ghosts," in effect.
