I have learned that Hulu is in talks with Community producer Sony Pictures TV for more original installments of the show, which was cancelled by NBC earlier this month. Sources stress that conversations are preliminary and is unclear whether they would lead to a deal, but I hear there is will on both sides.
Source:
Please. Pretty please.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of the show but I like that Hulu is doing this. If it works out, it could lead to Hulu picking up more cancelled shows.
ReplyDeleteI hope this happens! Hulu could make an Arrested Development kind of deal with Communitu, making its 6th season happen and then making a movie with the ending! (even though the AD movie is still unclear, but we all know it's going to happen... eventually... one of these days xD)
ReplyDeletePlease!!!
ReplyDeleteYES :D :D
ReplyDeletekinda hoping for Hulu or Netflix to finally see the potential in shows with a fixed fanbase !
Get Nathan Fillion to set for a 6 episode Firefly miniseries, push Tom Welling and Erica Durance to a 10 episode season of Metropolis, get David Boreanaz and James Marsters back to wrap up the Angel saga, finish Terra Nova with 4 episodes. <3
Thank God!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen Community, but I hope you guys get this!!!
ReplyDeleteAs long as someone picks it up, don't really care who.
ReplyDeleteI won't get my hopes up.
ReplyDeleteYaaaaay!
ReplyDeleteI really hope they finish off with a full length season at least, please for the love of god!
ReplyDeleteDidn't Harmon say no though?
ReplyDeleteNo thanks on the "Metropolis" idea. Smallville was only good during the high school years.
ReplyDeletenot if it would be CW free. No teen drama and only classic Supes action featuring one of the best actors to play the role of Superman
ReplyDeleteThey could also embrace the style of MoS a bit (what I wouldn't like but be okay with)
He never played Superman. He played Clark Kent and The Blur. It wasn't until the last episode where he became the actual Superman from the movies and even then he didn't play him. It was a CG version of him.
ReplyDeleteNot at all.
ReplyDeleteHe was a fine Clark Kent, but playing Superman is different, as it always in when playing the alter ego and the superhero and I don't think he could be a great Superman, especially when his "Blur" was just a sometimes moody Clark Kent.
ReplyDeleteThat one article about the show's cancellation made it seem like he wouldn't consider sticking with Community and just moving on.
ReplyDeleteEDIT: This is the interview I'm speaking about
http://www.deadline.com/2014/05/community-dan-harmon-cancellation-comeback-harmontown/
Four things: 1) Smallville ended the way it was supposed too 2) the show is still continuing in comic form 3) It had its time in the sun and told its story and 4) we don't need another Superman live action series at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI disagree. I liked the later years more.
ReplyDeleteHe wrote a piece on his blog/tumblr where he basically said that although he was a little unsure, pretty much everything that was said was taken out of context and he would of course do more if the chance presented itself.
ReplyDeleteAl Gough and Miles Millar wanted to tell a story of the pre-Superman years and the high school years were something special with the story it was telling, but then it got rather confusing in the middle of season five in trying to turn everything so that it fits with the "story" we're used to know which I didn't like, imo. Plus, the seasons with Clark being a vigilante of sorts just didn't feel like how the series used to be as well as undermining that first goal of telling the pre-Superman years. Even in costume that wasn't the red and blues, the story just wasn't the same anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe blog is up on the page, and he mentioned how he felt that the fans expected more than what he could give, or something like that, but still…say that and not "eh"…that one small word made me feel as if he was always a d-bag even through all those past stories I defended the guy.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to get my hopes up too high, but I would absolutely love this. I will praise Hulu forever!
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to get my hopes up especially as cast members are already signing up to new things like Gillian and Girls. Really I've had my hopes dashed far too many times by this kind of thing, re Happy Endings and USA network last year.
ReplyDeletePrayer circle. Six seasons and a movie!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't they have said that before Gillian Jacobs got cast on a new show.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I hated the high school season and the never ending Lana Lang drama.
ReplyDeleteshe will only play 5 episode on Girls, I don't think there will be a problem with that
ReplyDeletehe couldn't possibly be more brooding and moody as Cavills Superman though. Based on Wellings good track record I'd say he'd make a better Supes.
ReplyDelete1,) it may have but I want more
ReplyDelete2.) I don't want THAT though
3.) Supermans story is NEVER over
4.) We do, at least I do. A better one than MoS
Please make it happen love this show would like to see them graduate and Jeff and Annie together at the end
ReplyDeleteYeah he was great. Smallville along with Buffy were my favorite series. Got the box -set of each!
ReplyDeleteAh thanks, I thought she was a series regular now or something.
ReplyDeleteI'm still dreaming of them doing a follow-up show about Buffy and the Scoobies coming to LA only to realize that key players in town have been possessed by demons (the apocalypse didn't leave any visible signs but important people are possesed) and that Angel and Spike haven been cured trough Shan-Shu and had their memories erased, thinking that they're lawyer at W&H working for Lindsey and Wes (who had their dead bodies taken over). While Illyria and Giles are held captive in a magical prison
ReplyDeleteIt must be now since the actors will move to new pilots soon.
ReplyDeletehopefully someone starts looking at picking up revolution. they already have over 30,000 signatures on this petition http://www.thepetitionsite.com/553/454/200/revolution-season-3/
ReplyDeleteI'm good with what we got since it told the story it was supposed to and because I really don't see the need of having two live action Supermans at the same time (but I also prefer Cavill as Superman, but as a Clark Kent in training no one will probably ever beat Tom Welling).
ReplyDeleteCavill wasn't brooding he was very Supermany at times, he was just emotional more human and flawed.
ReplyDeleteI'm also going to be upfront and say that I'm not willing to subscribe to Hulu+ for Community alone. The commercials and, more importantly, video quality just suck.
ReplyDeleteYeah its ridiculous that Plus still has adverts

ReplyDeleteI still don't understand the talk of Cavill's Superman being moody. Cavill's Clark was pretty dang moody, but not his Superman.
ReplyDeletefantastic, MoS apologists. *Snaps Zods neck*
ReplyDeleteLet´s hope everyone will be on board, with Dan Harmon and Donald Glover as well for many, many years.
ReplyDeleteLook you don't like MoS fine, but don't undermine my opinion because I disagree with you. Really unnecessary dude. I'm trying to have a legitimate discussion with you and you call me names and belittle my opinion. Also Tom Welling Clark Kent's pre-Superman Clark Kent was incredibly like Cavill's. Neither was moody, both are human and uncertain with characters that grew into their role as Superman.
ReplyDeleteIronic since you undermined my opinion with your list as well dude
ReplyDeleteGillian has been cast for a small role for 5 episodes. That's all. It's like when Alison was on Mad Men. Not a big deal.
ReplyDeleteRead it again. He said he said eh on a Friday and would change his mind on Monday and tell Sony to start trying to find the show a new home. He thanked the fans and seemed very gracious.
ReplyDeleteYou should read my comment again, lol. Whenever he first said "eh", that's when I started to feel different about the guy. He might have changed his views, but that first reaction just made him seem like a d-bag to me.
ReplyDeleteOh, he is a d-bag. But he's also a good writer. So it's a wash.
