i absolutely adored legit. it was one of the most honest/funniest/edgiest shows of the season
ReplyDeletenever even heard about them
ReplyDeleteAww I kinda liked Chozen
ReplyDeleteI'm going to say something I've never said : fûck you FX(X).
ReplyDeleteLegit is hands down one of the best comedies on television, certainly one of the most underrated (speaking of: http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/04/review-three-comedies-you-dont-know.html )and cancelling it just because they've been airing it on a channel no one watches (FXX) even though the show doesn't have the legs to stand on its own (it should have been paired with another, more established FX show like Louie or Archer) is just stupid. Even hough I realize Legit could have been cancelled after one season if FX didn't decide to create FXX.
The final two episodes air in a couple of hours and I'm going to savor them, hoping that the show ends with some sort of closure (not that there are big plotlines needing to be resolved).
It appears greedy networks have been going on a killing spree by putting down great comedies: Hello Ladies (it'll get a 1-hour special though), Enlisted, The Crazy Ones (I for one thought it was pretty good), Suburgatory, the wonderful Raising Hope (which had a satisfying ending thankfully), and the Mother of all cancellations, Community. - I haven't seen Surviving Jack and Trophy Wife, they looked good, but I felt they'd be cancelled so I didn't even try them. Comedy Central better not cancel Review (the one instance where I wouldn't be outraged by its cancellation is if they pick up Community for another season - I will never give up on that hope).
If I remember correctly Legit was paired with Archer last season.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I know it's annoying but you should know by now that television is a BUSINESS at the end of the day. If it's undeperforming, it has to go. Also even though Legit is "one of the best comedies on TV" according to you, it could be awful for loads of others and that's the same with every show. (One person's trash is another person's treasure).
ReplyDeleteWow, settle down. I didn't know that I was supposed to post only unbiased, objective comments and that because the ratings sucked I shouldn't be upset that Legit got axed, especially when it's not been given the proper tools (= a proper network, a proper lead-in) to succeed. I know season 1 aired after Archer, but clearly going into its sophomore season Legit wasn't strong enough to stand on its own yet - Archer's ratings grew after a few seasons, giving it time to succeed helped.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, Legit is my treasure, I don't see the point to tell me that some people may not like that, it's not like that's going to impact how I feel about the show in any way.
It has been a slaughterhouse for comedies this season and last. I recommend Trophy Wife, it did get a full season and the ending serves as a good series finale. I need to check out Surviving Jack myself.
ReplyDeleteI think Review will be OK, it has a lot of critical acclaim right now and I'm sure Comedy Central are happy with that.
