  1. Well it seems neither one knew it. So sad that this old trope is being brought out for a season finale too!

  3. Good grief!!! Please tell me they aren't actually going to go there?!?

  4. What a lame, sitcom-type cliche. I expect much better from Castle. Unoriginal and unrealistic.

  5. Im so gonna sit back and enjoy this ride.

  6. Kate is so hilarious, don't gives a bit of attention to the lady ... she too busy to dreaming on castle's shoulder!!

  7. I don't understand why they have to go down that route.

  8. this is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong

  9. *sigh*
I know this episode is supposed to be light and fun after yesterday's episode, but the already married storyline just seems unnecessary and Beckett not even knowing about it makes it seems all the more unnatural.

  10. Okay, we're all not happy with this but can't we not just be quit until we've actually seen it? who knows maybe it'll be better then we think. Besides, there is no case so there has to be something for them to do.

  11. i agree, castle was a different type of show which incorporated all types of situations. With the 2 episodes finishing the year we all realize that Mr. Marlowe is using tired cliched plot lines. All though Veritas was well done he did an episode that could only end the way it did. And now the wedding possibly being held off or last minute based on the clips showing Kate already being married. I believe this was used in Bones and within the co stars so not even a plot line for the stars. Everyone thinks Mr. Marlowe is the main man but it is showing there is nothing new out their. I hope they get married because if they dont a lot of us will feel season 6 was a waste and there is actual trouble in the writers room, as I believe Stana said last year there is still a lot of great storytelling once they are married. Being real if it wasnt for the cast The chemistry between her and Nathan as well as the rest of the crew make the show great. I would love to buy the show if it was workable but that dream aside lets hope the show rises up and return to the fun hour we were all used to watching.

  12. I'm going to go in open minded.. I mean they are more or less sticking to this scene.. I refuse to judge something based on footage less than 3 minutes (especially 40 min show)... Even though I loved 'Veritas' I think this will be a great light episode that follows it nicely.

  13. I think this episode is going to be a great finale. I don't care if other TV shows have done this story before. This is Castle. Not Bones. The sneak peek was less the a minute. Out of a 42 minute show.

  14. Sneakpeek or Extended promo?

  15. Can name quite a few things in this show that are unnatural so why not throw this in too i dont get why people are so fixated on this "One and done" stuff, if she didnt know she just didnt know we dont need too know how (tho we will prob find out how it happend) aslong as the result is that it gets resolved and that fans can be happy and end with a good cliffhanger as nathan said (tho his way of "Good" is quite diabolic).

  16. True story or wishfull thinking?

I'm really start to be fed up with the constant "don't have an opnion until you haven't seen the show" excuses. The promos and sneak peeks are to CREATE AN OPINION about the coming episode. The episode then may be different, the promo may be misleading, but that's what TPTB decided to show to garner interest. If that's the result it's their fault, not the viewers'. Just because somebody has an unconditional faith in the almighty writers, not everybody must share it.

  18. Not "all" as im quite happy with this lol.

  19. Why is that an excuse? ive had plently of episodes where i had a opinion based on the promo's and sneakpeeks yet the ep changed my opinion after ive seen it (that 70's show for example) and im sure im not alone in this so it realy just and excuse for yourself, Ofc i understand you can form some kind of opinion but its never gonna be the full opinion because you simply cant have the same opinion about something that takes 20 seconds compared too 43 minutes.

Its in my peronalty that i cant form a full opinion about something before ive seen or heard it fully and thats not an excuse maybe this is me thinking way too simple but thats what it is.

  20. I still think it could be a pretty good episode if done correctly. And let's face it, we still do not know the circumstances of this marriage so it might not be what we think. Ok maybe it happened before on bones, which i never saw because i got bored after a few season, but i would net be surprise if it happened on another tv show before bones and people were probably not accusing Hart Hanson for reaping off some other show. Other people probably hate the story line because it throw the One And Done thing out of the window.

Personally i think it can't be worse than watershed and i look forward to it.

  21. As I think back, the episodes with the cliched plots turn out to have a fresh twist on them so I have every confidence that even this episode will surprise us...particularly in light of NF's comment about the "good" cliffhanger.

Nobody has said anything about the episode as a whole yet. People are not happy that the writers picked this specific plot idea, that's what the comments said - and I fully agree with them, this is a bad idea, no matter if it would be a real marriage or a prank.

The episode can balance it with good turns. I'm sure that if the wedding will happen with Stana in her new bride dress, that will be what people will remember of, bad parts will be forgiven (and its normal and OK, everybody wants to remember the good things), but that will not make this a better idea.

Plus not everybody expect the same things from Castle. There are some to whom it is enough if it is funny - no matter where the fun comes, how much it is in accordance with the characters. Some people take the characters more seriously and find the show only enjoyable if it doesn't sacrifice them on the altar of the weekly joke.

  23. Wait and see the ep people. This can't be as lame/stupid as the Starsky and Hutch stuff a few weeks back. That was lame.

I am willing to give them the benifit of the doubt till I see the ep. Because last nights ep was WAY better than I expected it to be especially after the previous two episodes.

This series has been a bit of a mix for me verging on the too stupid/perdictable in places to being damn good. So I will wait and see how it goes.

The only thing I will say, is please dont let this be some lame marrriage in a drunken haze in Vegas type thing.

Because that has SO been done to death. And it would be an insult to viewers.

I hope they pull a clever fun episode out of the bag because I am so going to need it after the NCIS season finale.

  24. I think the promos are to entice viewers and for the audience to speculate not judge. It's not wrong to formulate an opinion it's just annoying to have all this negativity around an episode that hasn't aired yet.

    ReplyDelete
  25. exactly people jump to quick to a conclusion without having seen the entire episode yet.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh how I wish this episode could just be about the wedding (a shipper's dream) but since it's a police procedural I guess they have to solve something.

    ReplyDelete
  27. i share similar feelings, wanted it to be just about the wedding, but this is 'Castle' afterall, not a drama entirely. Also recall they were told by ABC to do one more epi for a total of 23 when the original plan was 22, so they had to "extend". sure one could argue they could be more creative with the 'B' story but hopefully it's a fun ride

Haven't seen a clause at the end of SP's yet saying that "watching this video allows you only to speculate but not judge", it's new to me. And as I wrote below, nobody judged the episode - people disliked the idea of using this plotline. Believe me, if it is annoying to read the negativity, it's more annyoing to see that this was their best idea for a season ending episode. So everybody has the right to be annoyed.

  29. Like I said, People have the right to their own opinions but I just think people shouldn't get too riled up about the entire episode just based on the promo. I too don't like the idea of the writer's using this plot line. I think it's pretty cheap to go down this route.
I just think it's like judging a book by it's cover. It's 18-30 second promo for a 42 minute episode. It's a cheesy storyline I agree & I'm not happy about it but you never know the writers are usually pretty good with these sorts of episodes. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I haven't seen any comment yet about the episode as a whole, just about the specific plot idea. A week ago I was scolded that how do I dare to expect originality from the writers. Now even not liking the really bad unoriginal ideas seems to be untolerable.

I say it one last time, because if somebody can't understand it from three different posts, it's not my fault: I don't judge the episode. I think this plotline is a bad one. Bad because it's cheap and overused (so if i were a creative I would want to avoid). Bad because it was used and very much disliked in a similar show and it needed no brain to see that those memories and comparisons would come up. And bad, because it's OOC and give a bad taste to a large part of the fandom right before the finale, when the show's number are not the shiniest, to say the least.

It means that the episode will start with a handycap, not because I (or anybody else here) criticise it, but because the writers made a bad decision which controversial reception was absolutely forseenable. They can remedy it, the overall picture can be good at the end, but the saying about the importance of the first impression is valid here too, and a possible (and hopefully) good ending doesn't make it a better choice.

I don't see why is it "negative" when I say that instead of the "I know it sounds like crap, but maybe it won't be" vibe (because all the claims of not judging by the promo means that judging by it this would not be a good one) they should have picked another unoriginal idea wich at least generates an "OMG, I instantly want to see this" mood?

  31. Christ. An hour long wedding would basically switch off anyone that watches the show for the actual itself rather than Castle & Beckett's relationship.

  32. If I remember correctly, in Bones Angela and Hodgins were at the altar when it was said she was already married; and she knew it, only she tought it wasn´t legal - in here, it looks like Kate has no idea and it comes up when picking the license (as I think it´s how it should work) - so, it has nothing to do with Bones!
And there can be a few ways to explain it - a prank from Castle? At a case she needed to fake a marriage and the "license" was used as a leverage against her? Something from her wild past?
The point is: I´ll wait to watch the episode before I judge!:)

    ReplyDelete
  33. hahahah I know. It would be too much lol. Although I wish they could have gone with a different plot for this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ok this really doesn't need to be such a big deal.
I wasn't just specifically speaking about your comment just in general.
I too think the writers made a poor decision with choosing such a cheap/unoriginal plot for the wedding episode. All i'm saying is that I'm going to watch it first to make up my mind on how I feel about it.

  35. A man who understands how it works, and the funny part is we are not allowed to have an opinion. Marlowe has final say and it becomes old when you have waited a season and some non type castle episodes as Veritas was, but I dont have to agree with anybody if I think this is a tired contrived plot. After all they have been through whats wrong with a fun good wedding so the fans can relax from the dark episodes this year. And I totally agree if you dont want opinion then dont show sneek peaks that have proven to take you in the wrong direction. Hold on to your opinion, in this country its our first ammendment. Not to be political but Marlowe keeps writing bologna and he will wind up with a bologna sandwich.
