  1. YES! My bet is that it will air like TCD aired last year, from Nov to Jan then gone

  2. Once again, I'm happy for you BaTB fans but I just don't understand how this has been renewed. Maybe netflix really does love closure to the shows they put on there?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Then what was the point in renewing it? I understand if it's for syndication, but this just makes no sense. They could have easily wrapped it up with its 6 episodes airing in Summer.

Could it be the fact that the show is sold to 200 markets? And undoubtedly, Beasties (international fandom) roar VERY load...

Ikr?Or they could've wrapped it up this season season two and cancelled it.Im a fan but this renewal makes no sense to me,.It needs to full seasons for syndication and 13 won't be enough.Unless its just to wrap up which they could've and should've done this season. Its renewal is probably for closure and schedule spackle.

They can still order the final eps to make it a full season which is what I'm hoping for, but I'm not complaining about getting 13 more for S3 ;) for those asking about ratings and not understanding why it got renewed, it's fanbase world wide is huge it's not all about those in the US. It might not get outstanding ratings but SC, TTP didn't either....We just have better international sales that's been in place for 2 seasons. But I am sorry for the other fans who's shows got cancelled I know how I'd feel right now.

But honestly, how can a tweet pose as Confirmed? I think we will now on May 15...

  8. Perhaps two cycles of 13 gets them to 70? 88 is no longer the magic number.

  9. More 13 eps rom batb? Too much!

  10. Janell Lovell9 May 2014 at 18:18

For a fan you really don't want to see more? As for them getting only 13 they can still order the final eps to make it a full season, it's not stated as it's final season so there's still hope for more.

  11. 13? they should have 6 -,-

    ReplyDelete
  12. I've heard before that the show was sold for 3 seasons internationally. Maybe this 13 ep renewal was the easiest way to fulfill that? I think its international beasties who said this though.

88 is still the norm & standard for syndication. Most of what's syndicated and actually does well in syndication have 90 or more episodes

    ReplyDelete
  14. A 1 episode 3rd season is more than enough.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Brandy Danforth9 May 2014 at 18:22

That's only if the US produces three seasons. If they didn't, then they wouldn't have to.

  16. Irene Larsson, Uppsala Sweden9 May 2014 at 18:26

You are aware that S2 has until now covered storylines to fill at least one more season?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Christopher DeBono9 May 2014 at 18:27

I believe that stems from one of the India interviews. They implied they had purchased seasons 1-3 which had people initially wondering. I believe the general consensus (at the time) was that the final 6 episodes of season 2 were being sold as season 3 internationally. (Like how ABC Family shows are sold differently overseas).

  18. Thank you! The less the better.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Interesting. I was just trying to figure out what could possible play into renewing it, but not for syndication purposes, and if this was contractual, it would have made sense.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Brandy Danforth9 May 2014 at 18:33

Yes I am.My point was they knew they were going on hiatus/pulled from the schedule and moved to summer burnoff, they should've wrapped it up then In case it didnt get renewed instead of being stuck renewing it for another low rated season that won't get it to syndication

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yep,most probably that is exactly what will happen!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great news for their fans, but seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  23. It looks like S3 is the last season.. Give us a proper ending and not a cliffhanger.

    ReplyDelete
  24. well they have many new shows and some of their older shows are declining, who knows how they will do this fall. it is smart of them to renew it for 13 episodes. if they have many new hits and their old shows continue to do well they will cancel it cause there will be no space. if the first 13 episodes do well or/and if other shows flop they could still renew it the next season for another 13 episodes (or even 22 if it suddenly starts doing really well). so it really depends on how it does compared to other shows next year

    ReplyDelete
  25. This show does very well internationally…that's why it's still around. Good for the Beasties.

    ReplyDelete
  26. or none :D, I like that option better.

This show renewa was a surprise to me, but I think it shows the network ackowledges hte huge fan base it undoubtfully has, so congrats to the fans!

The costumer designer,Deadline,Hollwood Repoter all say less than 22 episodes/13 episodes.CW s schedule is too full for it to get a full season too with :HoD,The 100,IZombie,Flash,Messengers,Jane ,the Virgin( those last four could get full seasons but not all might)& Reign,VD,TO,SPN,Arrow with full seasons.

  29. How well does it really? In my country it's burned off on Friday around midnight. That's hardly successful.

Now this confirms what I thought, they're doing this for the amazingly loyal fanbase to give them some much needed closure after the mess they made of the first half of this season. That's nice of them.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Let the haters hate. We got our 3rd season, and a 4th has to happen for syndication reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Brandy Danforth9 May 2014 at 21:16

It's been sold for three seasons and in over 200 markets

    ReplyDelete
  33. Brandy Danforth9 May 2014 at 21:27

Not nessicarily .Next season is reported to be a short and final wrap up one.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Christopher DeBono9 May 2014 at 21:47

If it was a full 22 episode season then it would get the 4th for syndication (even if it was a shortened season like Nikita). But 22 + 22 + 13 = 57 which isn't close enough. The general rule of thumb is 65/66 episodes. If it can reach that point then it'll get at least one more season for syndication.

    ReplyDelete
  35. i second that.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm so happy. BATB, actors and fans worldwide deserve the season 3!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Angela .Visscher10 May 2014 at 01:04

Wonderful nod by the network to BATB fans, giving them these thirteen episodes! Also if you don't care about the show or watch it, what skin is it off your back how many episodes they air? Everyone gets it, BATB should never have been renewed, forget about getting thirteen episodes. Get over it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. right now i'm just so happy there's a season 3. let the next season be a problem for another day coz i want to enjoy the coming episodes in peace. frankly, i'll settle with 13 if they give us a great storyline and ending, wrapping up everything nicely

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm happy for season 3 and I'll take what ever they are willing to give. I love season 2 just a much as season 1 for different reasons. This show has never disappointed me, it's been an amazing roller coaster ride. Can't wait for June 2nd and season 3!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. at least its not 6, I don't care how bad a show is, a 6 episode renewal is just sad.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Nope. Since there aren't 200 countries for it to be sold to, your delusion is absurd.
The show only got renewed because of backroom payoffs. Its common in TV, never more so than this renewal though.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Actually, I had this argument back in March with someone (unfortunately, cant remember the board it was on now.)
Of all current N.American shows overseas BatB ranks 207th. Only 4 Network TV shows rated lower, and 1 of those was another CW show.
This delusion fans have that its "popular internationally" is 1st, false, 2nd irrelevant to The CW.
Its not popular ANYWHERE. Its just the handful of fans it DOES have, are quite vocal online.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You heard a lie. Shows are NOT sold ahead of guaranteed airing.
I have seen others claim this same thing more than once. They are idiots for believing it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Huge fan base? Its the lowest rated show on the lowest rated Network.
You could get more viewers showing a still photo of Kristen Kreuk from Smallville for an hour than what this show gets.

    ReplyDelete
  45. If the 13 episode order is true, Nope.
That would leave them far short of syndication at the end of a 4th season.
Season 4 would be 10Xs the miracle this was.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Irene Larsson, Uppsala Sweden10 May 2014 at 10:45

Well, I didn't say 200 countries. I said markets. And this is a statement that CBS made on Twitter a while ago. I guess they know what they are talking about.

The only absurd thing is the hatred from non fans.

    ReplyDelete
  47. well, what do they consider a "market".?
If a "market" is only the area covered by a specific regional TV station (which is generally what a "market" is referred to.. but that seemed absurdly low if that was the case), that's like 80-100 JUST in the U.S. Where it plays on The CW. Another 15 or so in Canada where its on CTV. 85 other "markets" isn't that big of a deal suddenly.

    ReplyDelete
  48. they bought the rights to air batb for 3 yrs not 3 seasons and he confirmed that s3 is coming two weeks ago bfre cw announced it .he also says batb has a fanbase in india ,i m from india and sadly i havent seen one till now .so it is what it is

    ReplyDelete
  49. after season 3 i doubt they will have enough fuel to go for 88 magic no.a huge leap

    ReplyDelete
  50. Maybe because better shows like TTP were cancelled for a show that is hanging by a thread.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That's what I'm thinking. Why would a mediocore low rated TV show be sold into almost every country on this planet?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Quite agree with what you say. Unlike the SPN, we do not dévaluons the other series. But the hatred for us fans is very strong. Namely why?

    ReplyDelete
  53. It is not only nasty, you're saying, this is entirely untrue. I'm tired to see people like you and especially those of the SPN, devalue a series which is very much like BATB. This way prevents me to appreciate others unlike the SPN who sees by Jensen and Supernatural, a series I'm more for some time, always the same, no change from the beginning that I look. The SPN, insulting others who don't necessarily like Supernatural, arranged what I already thought of this series.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I am very pleased that BATB has 13 episodes and more. I think like you, saw the end of the 16th episode in the season 2, it sounds like an end of season, which would mean that you are right it would be 6 planned episodes at the beginning that would be the 3rd season. This would mean that this is the fourth season that the o has given. This is not very good on their part to believe that this is the 3rd season.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I AGREE WITH YOU!Your right! LET THE HATERS HATE,whats important is we Got our Favorite show renewed, all matters is We Love the Show Beauty and the Beast and we gonna ...ROAR...to have more season to watch

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'll take it! Gives the writers enough time to fix their previous season.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Stop being so rude. It's uncalled for.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Again flappin the lips. shhhh....

    ReplyDelete
  59. If there was no truth to any of it there wouldn't be a season 3. Please stop talking like you know anything. Because you don't. It's pretty obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  60. 13 épisodes mince alors !!

    ReplyDelete
  61. 13 épisodes saison 2 pas assez ::on recommencera!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. je voulais dire saison 3 !!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Apparently, it WASN'T irrelevant to the CW.
