  1. Well no surprise about the episode order. As previously stated in an interview with ABC's boss the show would take the time-slot from Marvel's Agents of SHIELD in the agents winter break.

I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but I feel like it could be a good thing.
No fillers, action and quality every week. I'm really excited to see the show!

  3. That's a little less than I expected, but seeing that it premiere in January, I guess that's justified.

  4. 8 episodes for Agent Carter, Galavant, American Crime and Secrets & Lies, 13 episodes for The Whispers?

Sounds good, hopefully it'll have an amazing plot.

  6. Nope, only Agent Carter. Secrets and Lies is 10 episodes. No idea about Galavant and American Crime.

  7. Secrets & Lies had a 10 episode commitment when it was picked up. And I believe Members Only (The Club) has 12 episodes unless something changed.

  8. Less than 13 is a good decision, shorter break for AOS and if Agent Carter is not as successful as AOS than ABC is not stuck with 13 episodes. I was thinking 10 episodes since ABC probably wished they had more than 8 this past season for Resurrection, but 8 sounds good to me as well.

  9. 13 episodes for Members Only.

  10. 11 episodes for American Crime.

    Fall: 12 AoS. Jan-Feb 8 Carter. March-May 10 AoS.
    Fall: 13 Forever. Jan-May: 18 The Whispers.
*This is what I think will happen*

Galavant will probably have 13 since OUAT's break is the biggest one.

  13. Forever looks like a procedural to me with the slight twist of the main character being immortal. If you are predicting 13 episodes and done than that is understandable, but if is successful than it will likely get 22 episodes.

  14. I think it will be even, 11 and 11 in each half season.

  15. I saw that somewhere too, but didn't find an actual source.

  16. ""Resurrection" is set to conclude its second season just after the Oscars, with the 11-episode series "American Crime" subsequently taking over the Sunday, 9:00/8:00c hour."

  17. Thanks, ABC has really weird episode orders this year.

    ReplyDelete
  18. They said it will run for 4 weeks, 2 episodes per week. Am I wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, thank you all for the information. And here I was, trying to find some pattern between those orders.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 11 is a weird number of episodes for American Crime, and I could see HBO or Showtime doing the series in ten 50 minute episodes instead of eleven 42 episodes but I think it is a positive that ABC is allowing creative freedom for the writers.

  21. The futon article below for American Crime has info about Galavant as well. Says a "number of original episodes at 830" so it is not exactly clear what ABC is doing there.

"do original episodes at 8 and a number of original episodes at 8:30.

  22. The episode order may also be because of scheduling.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't remember the "4 weeks" part.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, I have the impression that none of the new show can have a full season.

    ReplyDelete
  25. feels light, but I agree with everyone here that it will allow for tight focused writing with no fluff. I really enjoyed HA in CA1 and the Marvel One Shot, and am very much looking forward to this

    ReplyDelete
  26. Exactly! I'd rather have 8 great episodes with a good cast than 20 so-so episodes with a weak cast.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm interested in this but would have much preferred a longer series run then just 8 episodes. Oh well.

8 episode is quite short.....maybe they can increase if the rating is good

  29. Dan Fogelman’s new fairytale musical comedy Galavant will link the fall finale and winter premiere of Sunday fairytale drama Once Upon A Time, with its eight half-hour episodes airing back-to-back in the 8 PM hour for four weeks. ABC originally had the same plan for Once spinoff Wonderland last year before slating it concurrently with the mothership series in the difficult for ABC Thursday 8 PM slot.

  30. Seeing that this airs in the break b/w AoS half seasons, there would be no place to put those extra episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well, TFC mentions 11 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Maybe (and I don't like this idea) they won't air season 4B without breaks... This year OUAT returned in March, right? Now they're saying it'll be back in the winter.

    ReplyDelete
  33. If that means we get 8 badass awesome episodes I'm all for it!!!
