It’s 1976. After 19 years of marriage and 6 kids, Teddy and Cathleen’s (Molly Shannon) lives are in a rut. But that was before a detour on their road trip brought them to the lakeside Bambi Cottages. Now, the Burkes are the proud owners of these 6 funky vacation cottages in New Hampshire.
Overworked and dangerously optimistic Teddy believes that this is his chance for happiness and quits his big city job without telling Cathleen. But running a business with family is anything but a vacation.
The ‘staff’ includes 7 year-old Phyllis who never speaks, 9 year-old Elliot who’s gay but too young to know it, 12 year-old Wally who likes lighting matches a little too much, 14 year-old lazy Russell, 15 year-old Nathan who is way too agreeable, and 17 year-old Veronica, who’s a pretty teenage girl with the personality of a cranky, middle aged woman.
The opening day of BAMBI COTTAGES does not go well. The slick brochures have overpromised and the family will have to pull together to keep their guests from leaving in this comedy based on creator Brian Gallivan’s real life.
Ah, thank you. If I'm not mistaken when this was first announced it had untitled something and I never can remember those and must have just missed title updates or something. But this sounds pretty good.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I've read the pilot descriptions so many times. And still I have no idea WTF this is at all.
ReplyDeleteOne day Molly will get a TV show, she is always great in things (Enlightened, Hannibal, Raising Hope)
ReplyDeleteAnd Pushing Daisies, I loved her so much in her episode of that haha

ReplyDeleteYep, it was Bambi Cottages, then changed to Untitled something and a few days earlier ABC gave it the title of Mt. Happy.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the source for this on not being picked up?
ReplyDeleteThey Should have gone with "Lay A Little Lovin' On Me" as theme song :) http://lpintop.tripod.com/robinmcnamara/
