I like Cristin Milioti but I'm totally burned out on relationship/dating comedies and half-hour comedies that mutate into relationship comedies. (I'm looking at you, New Girl.)
That probably should be paired with Marry Me (which I'm looking forward to because of the cast/crew).
Okay, time to stop picking up comedy pilots and let's start renewing some comedies on the bubble (by which I mean About a Boy, obviously, and perhaps Community too, I guess a sixth season would be fine, I'm totally not stressing out now).
Yep, that's what I meant my alternating days. Day before they picked up a few shows, yesterday was a renewal, today more pickups, so tomorrow more renewal/cancellations decisions.
I'm pretty confident, though the twitter from the exec producer saying "it's dead" is not really a good sign. My chances have lowered from 80% to 70%, but I still expect it to be renewed for a final 7-13 episodes season. Heck, it wouldn't even surprise me if they renewed for 3 episodes to get to 100, though it would be pretty stupid to renew a show just for 3 episodes, but well... it could happen
And at the end the story is actually about how the guy is in love with someone else and is telling his kids how he dated their mother because... ops, wrong show.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Well, a few years ago someone said the same about Nikita and still got renewed for S3, so it could play out like that. But it's a very, very bad sign. Come on NBC! Just a 6 episode final season!
I thought Old Soul was passed too. Not sad over that, Amy Poehler is one of my many Gods, but given how Parenthood is still in limbo, and the schedule is happening in a few hours, I wonder what's gonna happen.
So this show is about how they get together and ends with them breaking up? I don't get it. Why would we go through the emotional trauma of falling in love with a couple only to have the finale be the demise of their relationship?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Yippie! So happy for Cristin.
ReplyDeleteWhat's this about?
ReplyDeleteOoh, here for this! I love Cristin.

ReplyDeleteThe story of a couple relationship, from meeting to break-up.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll give it a try.
ReplyDeleteNone related: I can smell an announcement over Community's future soon
ReplyDeleteWhich comedy will be next, make your guesses people.
ReplyDeleteLove Cristin so I'll be checking this out :)
ReplyDeleteI think today's is the day of NBC pick-ups. They seem to be alternating days.
ReplyDeleteThat probably should be paired with Marry Me (which I'm looking forward to because of the cast/crew).

If not today, maybe tomorrow, but I feel we're going to know before Saturday
ReplyDeleteI'm very interested in this. Will give it a shot!
ReplyDeleteI want Bad Judge for Kate Walsh and One Big Happy for Elisha Cuthbert but I think it's gonna be Mission Control with Kristen Ritter.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Bad Judge.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's The Pro since Rob Lowe is awesome, but I don't think it will make the cut
ReplyDeleteI'm getting more and more nervous as the day goes on.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's what I meant my alternating days. Day before they picked up a few shows, yesterday was a renewal, today more pickups, so tomorrow more renewal/cancellations decisions.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE: No more comedy pickups for now, possibly done for the day.

ReplyDeleteHere's an update on Community: https://twitter.com/KateAurthur/status/464467022282489857
ReplyDeleteI want it to be Mission Control, Feed Me, Old Soul, Bad Judge or The Pro.
ReplyDeleteI agree, which is sad. I loved him on Parks and Rec.
ReplyDeleteAnd at the end the story is actually about how the guy is in love with someone else and is telling his kids how he dated their mother because... ops, wrong show.
ReplyDeleteBuzzfeed?
ReplyDeleteLink to that tweet?

What about it?

ReplyDeleteDon't lose hope just yet! And you're right, it could be a surprise renewal ala Nikita.
ReplyDeleteIs it the last? Surely there's more with all the pilots and the buzz for Old Soul, Bad Judge, Feed Me, and Mission Control.
ReplyDeleteYes!!!, Christin Miloti! She's awesome
ReplyDeleteThat woman works for Buzzfeed, not exactly what I'd call a TV site.
ReplyDeleteHa
ReplyDeleteI wonder what happened if this is true, it seemed to be looking a lot better earlier this week. Hope its not more behind the scenes drama.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, Buzzfeed is mainly not a TV site, they were still right about Community's demise.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you heard, but Feed Me has been passed on, Old Soul is still alive.
ReplyDeleteI thought Old Soul was passed too. Not sad over that, Amy Poehler is one of my many Gods, but given how Parenthood is still in limbo, and the schedule is happening in a few hours, I wonder what's gonna happen.
ReplyDeleteDeadline is reporting that the show is alive again, negotiations with the studios probably but those hardly ever work.
ReplyDelete(squeezes fist) Damn finale.
