Root and Quentin (I sort of liked him last year but only because Paul Blackthorne is awesome, I actually like the character this year). And Root with two guns is awesome.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Hook for me! He creeped me out in season 2, but he's won me over this season.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked Skye, so didn't vote for her :)
The Evil Queen was my least favorite character in season 1 but I've really grown to love her!
ReplyDeleteCharlie Matheson from Revolution, then Hook from OUAT and surprisingly Jaime Lannister from GoT.
ReplyDeleteI would say Kenna from Reign too, she's not my favourite but she really grow on me since she's not the king's mistress anymore!
ReplyDeleteThere's only 2 characters on the list that belong to shows that I watch, but neither of them are characters which I didn't like. That being said, there's plenty of characters among the shows I watch that I don't like and haven't turned the tables, and probably never will because that's not why those characters are there in the first place.
ReplyDeleteHannibal from Hannibal. :) Also Hank from Parenthood and Tig from Sons of Anarchy.
ReplyDeleteAvery on Nashville, hands down. He was such an ass most of season one and now he is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteJaime Lannister
ReplyDeleteCallie! I did not like her at all in her first few seasons..she's one of my favorites now
Don Kiefer and Quentin as well..!
Well, FIRST OF ALL I don't have characters that I hate, beacuse they are just a characters, from TV shows. I just don't waste my nervous for such worthless thing.
ReplyDeleteI just started to like Zelena from Once Upon a Time.
Hannibal Lecter from HANNIBAL !!!
ReplyDeleteFitzSimmons on AoS. They were just too similar early on but now I see it was intentional in order to show how much they've grown individually.
ReplyDeleteI chose Don from The Newsroom.
ReplyDeleteThe reason? Hes the only 1 on the list that was unlikable & has turned his character around.
The rest either were likable, and still are, unlikable & still are.
I also picked other because of Laurel Lance - Arrow.
There was maybe 5 characters on TV that sucked more than her in season 1, but last 1/4 of season 2 shes turning it around finally. Last episode, I even found myself liking her character.
Root - always likable.
Quentin - lukewarm now likable
Thea - lukewarm now likable
Skye - likable still likable.
Hook - lukewarm now lukewarm/likable
This list is pretty flawed IMO.
Hook seems an odd choice for OUAT out of all their characters. I voted for Jaime Lannister.
ReplyDeleteI actually preferred Hook as a villain instead of this nauseatingly lovesick puppy that he is now. And I liked Skye from the start, so from the list I voted Red Queen, and others would be Cam from Bones and Gates from Castle at least.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only who doesn't like the new, "improved" Neutered Hook.
ReplyDeleteHayley, I did not like Faye in Secret Circle or Hayley in TVD, but have really liked her in The Originals.
ReplyDeleteRoot, has grown on me, which makes me happy as I have ALWAYS liked Amy Acker, Angel, Dollhouse, Alias, Supernatural and so many others.
Went with Louis Litt from Suits for my other. He is such a rat, but I love him.
Hate was not mentioned, it was unlikeable.
ReplyDeleteThe choices aren't good enough. There are 5 choices from my shows but I never found them "unlikable" to begin with.
ReplyDeleteI dont remember ever not liking skye? but maybe thats just me.
ReplyDeleteI would of put all three votes on Chloe from 24 if it had been an option.
Many of these characters have never been "unlikeable". Callie, Skye, Thea or Katherine. I've always loved them.
ReplyDeleteSean Renard was my immediate thought. Interesting poll.
ReplyDeleteHook, Skye and Root! Revolution's Charlie was always great for me so..
ReplyDeleteHook, Skye, Katherine & The Red Queen! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I actually loved Hook in S2 but now I can't stand him.....
ReplyDeleteCallie Torres is a great shout! She was awful back with George, but what a transformation into one of the best chracters on the show!!
ReplyDeleteHoward Wolowitz? Really? He is super funny, always was. o.O
ReplyDeleteVotet for Avery (Nashville) and Hayley( the Originals). At the beginning I didn't like them. Now they are my favourite characters in this shows.
ReplyDeleteAnd I always loved Hook(OUaT).
Avery and Hook.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of people who don't like Skye, for whatever reason. I've always liked her just fine so I don't really understand myself.
ReplyDeleteDylan on Bates Motel, unlikeable? Really? I liked the character from the start. Honestly, I'd rather see less Norman and more Dylan and Norma, of course.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why characters who are villains are supposed to be unlikable. The likes of Conrad, Root and Katherine were likable from the start in my opinion, and while I do appreciate a bad guy who has layers and isn't just one-note evil, turning a character from bad to good doesn't necessarily make them more likable; sometimes it's the other way around. Hook could be a good example of that, considering his character has mellowed in a rather rushed and contrived fashion to clear the path for romance with Emma, the show's heroine. (If you're Captain Swan shippers, don't go jumping down my throat for this. I'm not against the pairing in theory, just against the simplistic, unconvincing way they "redeemed' Hook to make it happen. It's like they flicked a switch and he went from a completely self-involved asshole to a pining romantic.)
ReplyDeleteRoot and Jaime Lanninster.
ReplyDeleteApril Kepner- Grey's Anatomy
ReplyDeleteA lot of these characters have been delightful from the get-go. Jaime, Don, Callie Torres has always been perfect and anyone who implies otherwise is a damn liar.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, Hook has only become MORE unlikable for me, to the point he's almost unwatchable.
Skye and Anastasia (the Red Queen) fit the poll best, I think. They've definitely grown on me.
Jaime Lannister, but this happend to me in the books on the show, so I was not a hater of him when the show started.
ReplyDeleteA lot of these characters I have liked from the start (Hook, Charlie, Sky, Sean, Hayley, Sky, Thea, Quentin). Only to a few I never could warm up, even after their "redemption arc" Kathrine Pierce, Queen of Hearts.
Example for one who is not on the list: Peter from Teen Wolf, love his character although he is more than shady.
I voted on Skye (which by the way i don't know why is here at all, in my opinion she is the main character of the series), Root.
ReplyDeleteSean Reanard (Grimm)... Root never was unlikable
ReplyDeleteMost of the characters that I like on this list were never really unlikable to me. similarly, the few that I dislike....I still dislike. I've always liked Hook, Howard, Quentin and Callie and I still do. In contrast, I still dislike Hayley and Katherine. Conrad is a great villain, but I don't really hate him or like him. I ended up picking Jaime Lannister and Renard because they have both showed positive character development. I wouldn't say they're my favorites, but I like them more than I used to.
ReplyDeleteOther possibilities (although they still aren't my favorites):
Adalind from Grimm
Regina from OUAT (though I realize this is subjective!)
Enzo, Vampire diaries
Victoria Gates, Castle
Of these, I really like Renard, The, Quentin, and the Red Queen, who is actually one of only two reasons I made it through all of Wonderland. The knave was the other.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a good idea to mix (or considering it equal) characters which were designed as antagonists but changed in the course of the show and now considered to be positive ones with characters which were designed "likeable", yet the audience (or a loud part of it at least) loathed them. The first is an intentional creative path, the later is a creative failure.
ReplyDeleteJaime Lannister.
ReplyDeleteI guess just Wolowitz from this list. The guy was pretty insufferable in the beginning, but after a little progression is now the funniest character on the show in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteNever disliked Root; in fact, I think it's suffice to say that I fell in love with her the moment I saw Amy Acker's big, bright and beautiful eyes step into the character. Also, dual-wielding Root > everything else.
Jaime Lanister, Root from POI and Quentin from Arrow. Not that they were completely unlikable, but they were a pain in the a-- or I didn't care for them at first.
ReplyDelete'The Bates Motel' is acutally 'Bates Motel' ;)
ReplyDeleteCaptain Hook, Jaime Lannister. I really didn't like them, especially Jaime! Also Peter from Teen Wolf. Now these 3 characters are among my favorite! :)
ReplyDeleteQuentin, Jamie (although that happened last year) and Thea although she's not a favorite but I like her now when i couldn't handle her last season
ReplyDelete"The characters from Girls" hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThat was great, really.
For me, the only "likeable" character is Jessa.
Captain Hook is the opposite for me - I loved him at first up until S3. Then I couldn't stand him.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of typos in that poll.
ReplyDeleteVoted for Avery from Nashville since he was the only one I really disliked at first and now he's one of the best. A lot of the characters on the list, I always loved. :)
ReplyDeleteMy three picks:
ReplyDelete- Avery (Nashville)
- Howard (TBBT)
- Other: Louis (Suits)
Yes. I just only wrote in that way.
ReplyDeleteDr Jedikiah Price from The Tomorrow People. I didnt like him to begin with but now he is pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteJaime definitely, like many others after S1 of the show I started on the books and by the time I finished A Storm of Swords I couldn't believe how much I cared for the character and how much I wanted to follow his story.
ReplyDeleteUnlike some I never disliked Skye to begin with, never understood why people got so worked up by her character.
Jaime is one of my six favorite characters on GoT (the five others are Tyrion, Arya, Edard, Jon and Joffrey) He was already one of my favorite characters in season 1. Jaime did a bad thing (boning this nuisance Cersei) but he was already much more interesting and entertaining than Daenerys. Sharing some properties with Tyrion makes Jaime already into a demigod.
ReplyDeleteBefore the page loaded, I knew my answer: Avery - Nashville
ReplyDeleteI chose Other. I can name several TVD characters who I have liked less and less lately, but that would take too much time. I think that a character who turned the tables for me and became likable was Silas on TVD. When he was no longer a vampire, he was actually a fun character that I wish the writers had taken the time to do more with. I would NEVER check the box next to Katherine Pierce because while she became likable when she was human again and dying, what she did after that made her character intolerable to watch. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
ReplyDeleteI've been catching up on episodes of the show Ray Donovan. I think I'm on Episode 10, and the character Mickey has really become likable now that more of his story has been told.
Bass Monroe from Revolution!!!
ReplyDeleteSebastian "Bass" Monroe from Revolution! His journey has just been epic; I like him so much this season and I still foresee a lot of character growth in him. Revolution REALLY needs a S3 for his character alone, let alone all the other truly amazing ones. <3
ReplyDeleteSeveral of those poll choices were never "unlikable". Actually, when I saw the poll title, I immediately thought of The Evil Queen, on Once Upon a Time, since she was, you know, 'evil', at least for season 1. The actress, and writers, have been quite good at making The Evil Queen complicated, and sympathizable; so much so, that Regina hs become one of my favorites on the show.
ReplyDelete- Jamie Lannister: Baddest crook here for killing King Robert & starting the whole mess in the first place but he had me when he saved Brienne in S3.
ReplyDelete- Root
- Hook
AVERY
ReplyDeleteCharlie from Revolution !!! She is and was always my favorite!
ReplyDeleteMonroe from Revolution the one who made a huge change and became everyone's favorite!
I loved Root, Skye and Thea since the begining. I didn't like Conrad a lot in the first to seasons, but now he is awsome. Same for Avery. I imagine Conrad is the last because everybody loves him, right?
ReplyDeleteA LOT of people hated/hate Skye
ReplyDeleteAgreed, I think this question needs more explanation and clarity in its description. I couldn't like Jaime Lannister before because it was not script intentional, while I should like Charlie Matheson, because she is the lead actress of Revolution. Some characters are fan favorites since their debuts, even if they were not supposed to be "good". Some characters took time to be likeable when they were supposed to be fan favorites from the start. It's complicated.
ReplyDeleteThank you for that info, but i don't get why is that. Her character is important to the plot and it's connected to Coulson's plot.
ReplyDeleteMellie from Scandal. Used to hate her, no I freaking LOVE her !
ReplyDeleteJaimie (GOT) and Chilton (Hannibal).
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware that Don from The Newsroom was unlikeable. I think he's awesome. Not so much with Maggie but otherwise I don't fault him for anything. I also like Thea Queen and Quentin Lance (a lot to do with the actors).
ReplyDeleteCallie Torres and Conrad Grayson are my favorite characters on their shows. Never found them unlikable. And Howard Walowitz was never unlikable either. So the answer to this specific question would have to be April Kepner of Grays and Kate Beckett from Castle. Two characters that I found annoying at start but has grown to appreciate and like.
ReplyDeleteI only can think of Agent Snow from Person of Interest.. His arc in the beginning of S2 was really good, and Michael was so fantastic playing him, and I thought he could get his redemption but it's a Nolan show so ofc he died *side-eyeing him till the end of time* well, in my head he did anyways :D
ReplyDeletePeter Hale from Teen Wolf - he's deliciously untrustworthy
ReplyDeleteRoot - Person of Interest - trouble with a capital T
Skye - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - all heart
I think some people thought her acting was bad. Others were annoyed by her character, not the storyline exactly.
ReplyDeleteNone of them have become my favorites. Hook was better before season 3 when they ruined him as a character. Thea has become much better this season than she was in the first season of Arrow. I never had a problem with Quentin Lance. Howard probably will never be my favorite on The Big Bang Theory, but they're letting him grow as a character which is good. I did like The Red Queen more toward the end of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Not sure about Root and I don't really like Skye. The rest I don't watch the shows they're in so no opinion.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Matheson!!!
ReplyDeleteFrom the list:
ReplyDelete- Anastasia/The Red Queen (OUATiW) went from being my least favorite character on the show to one of my two favorites (the Knave is the other).
- Jaime Lannister (GOT) not quite a favorite but he's definitely grown on me.
Others:
- Regina/The Evil Queen (OUAT) I didn't care for at first, but now she's definitely one of my favorites.
- Chloe O'Brien (24) I really didn't care for at all in season 3, but by season 5 she was a favorite.
Shaw on POI, not sure at first but now, YYeess.
ReplyDeleteSean Renard, Skye and I have to add Fitz & Simmons. I thought they were so annoying at the beginning of Agents of Shield but now I love them :D
ReplyDelete
