The only show I watched from this list is Supernatural, which I dropped last season. To be honest I wasn't really interested in and watched it only for episodes with Mark Pellegrino and Misha Collins. The second pick I made with closed eyes, cause I don't really care about cancellation of any of them.
So long as a series continues to remain relevant and interesting and good quality, adapts to change as time goes on, and uses its age to its advantage, then I've got no problems with it remaining on air.
I think Supernatural needs a final season to close all the storylines, and as much as it hurts me to say, Grey's Anatomy should end with a proper final season, without Christina, how is everything going to go on, they have already lost so much cast. I just love Sandra Oh :)
Also I don't think any scripted drama CW show has lasted past ten seasons, the same with ABC, so there going to be the firsts if they survive. Though this is annoying because how long can a show last before it loses it's magic...
I voted TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE SIMPSONS. I simply think 2.5 Men doesn't deserve to go on after everything it's been through, with Charlie and Angus leaving. I am under the firm belief it's taking money CBS/Warner Bros. could've spent on something new and brilliant. I also think THE SIMPSONS has overstayed its welcome. I like the episodes that air these days, don't get me wrong, but 25/26 years is long enough and I actually plan on having a marathon some day in the future watching all of it (obviously not continuously XD), but can't do that before it finishes. They haven't even gotten up-to-date on DVD sales.
I was considering voting for CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, but I don't see any overly negative opinions for it, so despite losing most, if not all, its original cast, there must be people who like the new characters, and I don't see why they shouldn't be able to continue the show. It has also stayed on-topic (I assume from what I read in the press releases), with the team solving crimes each week. I find shows that manage to stay on-topic for this long quite admirable. :)
I know it's semantics, but I think the poll should ask which show should end, not get cancelled. The reason is that "cancellation" is a very commercial term. Shows get cancelled because they don't net enough profit for their network/cable channel, as a result of low ratings or whatever. "Ending" is different... because every show ends at some point. When both the network executives and the show's producers have enough storytelling integrity, they choose to conclude the show once the story runs its course, rather than milk the cash cow for all it's worth. (Of course, that doesn't happen often.) I voted for Supernatural, but I don't think it should be *cancelled* - and it obviously won't be, because ratings won't drop anywhere near cancellation-worthy levels (for The CW) any time soon. A high-rated show shouldn't and doesn't get cancelled. I do however think it should *end*, because I feel they've been running on fumes for years, repeating the same storylines and themes (can you say "brotherly angst"?) in slightly altered forms over and over again, and lacking the things that made the show great in its heyday. I do understand why none of the people involved want to end it, of course... having steady employment, especially in Hollywood where job security is so hard to come by, is very important. So I'm not judging them or anything. But for the sake of the show itself, I think the sooner it ends, the better. That's just my opinion - I'm not wishing low ratings and therefore cancellation on the show, and I won't be basking in any fan's misery if Jensen and/or Jared call it quits. So please don't hate me. :) P.S. Never watched anything else on the list, but considering how long these shows have been going on, it's probably time for them to bow out gracefully, too. Every show comes with an expiration date, in my opinion.
If Supernatural gets Season 11 (which is basically a given unless one of the 2 stars calls it quits), it'll break Smallville's record for longest-running CW series. Of course, both series started on The WB rather than The CW, so it's debatable whether to count them - if you go with The WB it's a different ball game. So far, the longest-running series to have premiered on The CW is TVD which will begin its sixth season next fall. The network hasn't been around long, and hasn't produced any other long-running shows yet.
I think it's really time to end properly for all of them. I would choose Two and a Half Men first and Grey's Anatomy would be my last heartbreaking choice, because I still love this show even if I can't imagine it without Christina.
Criminal Minds. this show is so overrated that makes me angry just to think. it shoud've been gone right after jeff davis left. Supernatural diserves a last season .American idol, CSI and Two and a half men also should call it quits.
I believe SPN will break 7th Heaven's record easily, don't you guys? I mean, it was already renewed for season 10 and it looks too stable to fall apart in the near future.
I got so bored watching CSI. Doesn't quite offer the same excitement as other, more serialised shows (e.g. Arrow, Person of Interest etc.), so that can go. Same with Criminal Minds, but I wouldn't want CM to end. Love NCIS still (excluding the occasional stupid backdoor pilot).
Not voting, because I don't agree with a premise: why those shows have to be "canceled"? Yes, its a long-running series, veterans, but they still highly rated, what implies they still have an audience enjoying it it and for whom those shows are great entertainment. With Netflix, Hulu and other online viewing those shows are being discovered by new viewers every day, and as along as people watch - what's the problem? Whoever tired of it or don't like the quality any more - there are tons of available TV programs to switch to. Its not like show being kept on life support and barely making it. If rating are good, if actors are committed to stay, if producers and writers can come up with creative stories - let it run for as long as it can. I don't understand statement : I quite this show 4 seasons ago, it has to end NOW! Really? Why?
I don't really know either. I think it's often just a reason for people to get to complain or vent, but people already do that all over every thread, so it just seems like stirring up even more upset feelings.
I think people are just nostalgic: everything was better once upon a time (literally). Old is bad, tired, boring. And has to end, because..it has to end NOW! And then we see something like "24" being reborn. Because some "old and tired" today is better, then "new and fresh". Go figure.
CSI (got boring), 2 and a half man (isnt funny anymore since mostly everybody left), Grey's (its a bad soapopera nowadays where everybody has alreadys slept with everybody). In the contrary SVU is 95% about the cases and they area amazing, same with Criminal Minds.
I dont are about The Simpsons, I wouldnt miss it if it would be cancelled
In fact, maybe Law and Order SVU will have only 1 more season. I've heard that. And CSI still give a lot of money to CBS, I dont believe it would be cancelled too soon. Otherwise, Two and a Half Men isnt helping its channel too much. It's all about money.
Yeah, supernatural needs to end already, the show is a broken record, I don't how many times Sam is going to be about to die and how many times Dean is going to something wrong to save him, I dropped the show in season 7, I was sick of watching the same problems just with different "monsters", people need to move on, and also the actors.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Law and Order, CSI and Two and a Half Men, they are here way too long for me.

7th Heaven: 11 seasons from 1996 to 2007 but IMO the 11th season was a mistake.
ReplyDeleteOh ok, thanks, I was too young at the time to know that show
ReplyDeleteLaw and Order, CSI, Two and a Half Men and Grey's Anatomy. Supernatural is not that great either.
ReplyDeleteI voted TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE SIMPSONS. I simply think 2.5 Men doesn't deserve to go on after everything it's been through, with Charlie and Angus leaving. Two and a half men, no doubt
ReplyDeleteSupernatural (Sorry. But this has to go, NOW.)
ReplyDeleteCSI, NCIS and Law & Order.
Keep Greys. :)
I think SPN still has tons of story to tell...if they tell it right. I know SPN is always the hip and cool choice for a poll like this.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched CSI in years but it seems to know how to keep going.
Criminal Minds and Two and a Half Men got my vote.
Two and a Half Men for me.
ReplyDeleteAll of them.

ReplyDeleteI watch some of these, but all of them would need to wrap up in one season.
ReplyDeleteSVU is pretty much the only one I watch and that is usually a Sunday afternoon on Hulu deal.
ReplyDeleteCriminal Minds. this show is so overrated that makes me angry just to think. it shoud've been gone right after jeff davis left. Supernatural diserves a last season .American idol, CSI and Two and a half men also should call it quits.

ReplyDeleteGREY'S shouldn't be on this list, it's too awesome!
ReplyDeleteAll of them!! I would only be bothered if Supernatural was canceled without a decent ending..
ReplyDeleteIts ending next season anyway. It was renewed for 13 episodes only if i remember correctly.
ReplyDeleteIt was renewed for a 12th season but I don't think CBS confirmed a 13 episode final season.
ReplyDeleteThe Simpsons = like a balloon this show has lost the air inside it.
ReplyDeleteGreys Anatomy = personal bias...end it
CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds may continue as long as they want, I really don't give a sh*t about either.
Supernatural on the other hand may live as long as Jensen/Jared/Misha are on board #56seasonsAnd20movies
with you on that one. SPN will continue until either Jared or Jensen quit, theCW tries to save the show with a replacement lead and fails doing so
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl had six seasons.
ReplyDeleteAmer Idol can go away. Same for Simpsons (haven't watched in over 10 years, maybe even 15)
ReplyDeleteTwo and a Half Men
ReplyDeleteAmerican Idol
I think the cancellation Bear needs to catch Two and a Half Men.
ReplyDeleteI voted for the 2 I used to love, Supernatural and Two and a Half Men. Enough is enough.
ReplyDeleteOh, right. :-) Although its sixth season was a short one and TVD's will be the regular 22 eps, so I guess TVD has moved to the top spot.
ReplyDeleteVoted for Supernatural and the Simpsons which are both a shell of their former selves.
ReplyDeleteTwo and a Half Men and American Idol are my vote!
ReplyDeleteTwo and a half men. They only have the half man left on the show ;)
ReplyDeleteCSI, it should have ended with Grissom leaving.
ReplyDeleteI got so bored watching CSI. Doesn't quite offer the same excitement as other, more serialised shows (e.g. Arrow, Person of Interest etc.), so that can go. Same with Criminal Minds, but I wouldn't want CM to end. Love NCIS still (excluding the occasional stupid backdoor pilot).
ReplyDeleteNCIS is doing so well i don't understand why people feel it needs to end?
ReplyDeleteI voted for Two ad a half Men.

The show's actually had some interesting material this season that isn't about that.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know either. I think it's often just a reason for people to get to complain or vent, but people already do that all over every thread, so it just seems like stirring up even more upset feelings.

ReplyDeleteGA?? Really??
ReplyDeleteAgree!!
ReplyDeletedon't you touch my grey's anatomy!
ReplyDeleteAs long as they don't cancel SVU or Grey's anatomy. They're two of my favorite shows!!
ReplyDeleteSPN shouldn't be on the list.
ReplyDeleteNope.
ReplyDeleteI voted American Idol and Two and a Half Men (aren't they down to ONE man, now?).
ReplyDeletePerhaps, but still, it's not the same show that started in 2005, and all the nice things about it have gotten old and predictable.
ReplyDeleteCSI (got boring), 2 and a half man (isnt funny anymore since mostly everybody left), Grey's (its a bad soapopera nowadays where everybody has alreadys slept with everybody).

ReplyDeleteThanks for the info :)
ReplyDeleteAI and Two and a Half Men. Didn't the kid actor from that show leave? Shouldn't it be renamed "Two Men?" Haha!
ReplyDeleteGrey's kill the beating horse to death and SPN. Idol. A 1 2 3.
ReplyDeleteA lot can be cleared.
Rlmao right you are!
ReplyDeleteGrey's kill the beating of horse to death and SPN. Idol. A 1 2 3.
ReplyDeleteGrey's kill the beating of the horse to death and SPN. Idol. A 1 2 3.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural should definitely be cancelled, it sucks since season 4, they have nothing to new show
ReplyDeletejust the same old sh*t.
Law and Order : SVU
ReplyDeleteTwo and a Half Man
Supernatural
Grey Anatomy
I completely agree.
ReplyDeleteAll of them apart from The Simpsons which even though I rarely watch would be weird not to have on air.
ReplyDeleteYeah, supernatural needs to end already, the show is a broken record, I don't how many times Sam is going to be about to die and how many times Dean is going to something wrong to save him, I dropped the show in season 7, I was sick of watching the same problems just with different "monsters", people need to move on, and also the actors.
