  5. I watch a lot of comedies, so mines The Big Bang Theory, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Middle and Modern Family. They all have a great cast and work so well together. Penny and Sheldon or Amy Poehler and absolutely anyone :)

  6. Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory & Veep!

  7. Community, B99 and The Crazy Ones.

  8. Exactly the same for me

  9. That's very easy: Community and Parks and Rec...

  10. I only watch 3 so going with them, TBBT, Community & Crazy Ones.

  11. Community, TBBT just for Amy,Howard,Sheldon,

  12. Community, Parks and Rec and B99

  13. Definitely Parks and Recreation! Also voted for Community and Hot in Cleveland.
I think the Parks & Rec cast is easily the best. Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman are doing a tremendous job, the rest of the cast is doing amazing as well and even the tertiary characters are casted magnificently!

  14. Where is About a Boy?

  15. The Crazy Ones and Parks and Rec.

  16. So many great choices! It's soooo hard!
I had no doubt Parks and Recreation has the best cast, but everything else is so close! TBBT has Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik along with everyone else who is also great, the whole cast of Community, B99, The Middle and New Girl are also so great.... damn it! It is so hard to choose!
In the end I went with Parks, TBBT and Community, but everything else has pretty much a great cast

  17. Now, now, you may not like the show, but you have to admit the actors do a great job. There is a reason for Jim Parson wining the emmys every year, he does a magnificent role as Sheldon, and that can't be denied even if you dislike the character. Kaley, Mayim, Jhonny, Simon and Kunal all do a pretty great job (especially Mayim Bialik, I'd say she is near Parson level)

  18. HIMYM has one of the best casts I've seen in comedies: Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Cobbie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel, all of them did wonders through the show's run. And Cristin Milioti was such an awesome and welcome addition in the final season!

  19. Actually, I like TBBT, quite a lot even (though less and less as the years go by). But to say that the cast is better than those from most of these other shows is just wrong.

  20. Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Brooklyn Nine Nine

    ReplyDelete
  21. Community, hands down for me. Only show from the list I watch.

    ReplyDelete
  22. - Parks & Rec's Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Rob Lowe, Aubrey Plaza & Nick Offerman has got to be the most star studded cast on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Veep, Modern Family and Community.
    In 4th PnR.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree. I still watch the show, but the other mentioned series have stronger casts.
An Emmy is indeed an indication of talent, but many times goes to the more famous and successful show. If it were talent alone Tatiana Maslany would already have at least one and Steve Carrell's portraial of Michael Scott would have earned him one.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You should also watch Community :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Don't forget Chris Pratt, he is really going places.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Mindy Project! Also, Veep, Modern Family and The Middle.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't think he does that great of a job acting. In his interviews he already seems very much like his character.

    ReplyDelete
  29. House of Lies, TBBT and Brooklyn 99

    ReplyDelete
  30. The Mindy Project should be on this list but I picked Parks and Rec, Veep and maybe New Girl.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Community hands down. Next would be Parks & Rec.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If there was an 'Other' option, it would be Raising Hope :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Modern Family, because it has Ed O'Neill. Doesn't mean I like the show, though.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Community hands down. Danny Pudi leading the gang and with the inclusion of the bull dog from Breaking Bad(I can never remember his name Jajaja) and the return of John Oliver it just stomp on everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  35. B99!!! And The mindy project..

    ReplyDelete
  36. The best are Veep and Brooklyn 99 - in both these shows, I love each and every character of the ensemble.

Close second - Parks and Recreation

Tied in third place - The Mindy Project and New Girl

  37. Parks and Rec is CRIMINALLY underrated in so many ways, least of all in regard to its cast. They're absolutely brilliant. I also went with Modern Family, where I don't think there's a single weak link, and Community.

  38. It depends on what failsApril 28, 2014 at 9:11 PM

    Parks and Recreation.

This show has an ensemble one, strong lead, great supporting characters and good guests.

Its serialized nature helps too (Veep, another serialized comedy, is my #2).

  39. Other, other, and other. The Goldbergs has the best overall comedy cast to me. They each bring a great element to the show, making a true ensemble. Next I would say is the Enlisted cast. Again, it doesn't have just one or two funny characters. The entire cast is brilliant and they bring diverse types of comedy to the show. Picking a third is hard because there are about 5 shows I would choose before anything listed. In the end, I'll choose Trophy Wife. Yes, the show itself tends to veer into the uber-wacky but the characters are awesome. The diversity in personalities really makes the show and I love how each character can bring the funny when you least expect it.

  40. For me the problem is that Sheldon never grows so it's kind of a one-note acting job. It's hard to excel as an actor when you're not given much new to explore. That's why I think his Emmy wins somewhat stem from the show's popularity instead. I like the show and watch it weekly, but something needs to shake them all up because it feels like the characters are in a rut.

  41. New Girl definitely on the lead. Then, TBBT and The Middle.

    ReplyDelete
  42. New Girl! No competition for me :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Agree! Also, I'd add Parks and B99.

    ReplyDelete
  44. John Oliver FTW xD

    ReplyDelete
  45. I hated the B99 pilot. Too silly for me. Did it get better?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Weren't you a fan of Raising Hope? How was B99 any sillier than that show was?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I did enjoy Raising Hope for awhile and yes it was silly. I guess it was because I didn't like any of the characters in the pilot of B99 and it lacked any heart so the silliness grated instead of felt tempered. Raising Hope was all about the heart coupled by laughs. I'm not saying that B99 didn't get better, jsut that I hated the pilot and had no urge to watch another second of it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I also hated B99. But I accidentally saw the second episode and got hooked. Trust me, it got much much better.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ah, so it's the context of the silliness that you didn't take to. That clears it up.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Part of it is also the professional setting. Cops shouldn't be that infantile. Most of Raising Hope's silliness takes place in their home. Overall I just didn't find anything to like about B99.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Fair enough. As for myself, I don't require half-hour comedies to be grounded or heart-warming or even that realistic. My only stipulation is that I find it funny. That's probably why I like comedies such as Always Sunny, The League, Community etc.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks. That's really good to know. I'll try to give it a second chance this summer.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I didn't find B99's pilot all that funny to be honest. More eye-rolling. I also tend to find Community more clever than actual laughing funny. I'm not sure I've seen the other two. Maybe The League if that's the one that moved to BET after being on another station awhile ago.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The League and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are FX comedies that have since shifted to FXX.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just a heads-up. The show sets up a potential relationship aspect between two of the leads toward the end of the season. It doesn't become the focal point of the show but it is a significant part of a few episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Tatiana Maslany should win it every year.. she is amazing actress.
